Yes I remember going down into the military bunkers. We used to call them the barracks. They were north of Champion Spark Plugs. Would have been about 1978.

The Hospital was Liverpool children’s hospital …a convalescent hospital I think . I remember visiting a friend there when I was a child .

Ringo Starr stayed there as a child. They kept the clock face when they built Tesco's

2:11 just left of centre when you mention the bit about the bunkers there are 3 concrete strips and the bottom 2 have long wooden huts on them this was were I used to go to 2184 SQN Air Training Corp. Ours was the hut at the bottom and the one above was the Army Cadet hut. All houses now sadly.

Arrowe Park was a storage area for Sherman's in WWII and area was a tank training ground for many years after I believe. Think the driving test centre is still on MOD land. Interesting fact the Church Hall in Central Park the vicar was Field Marshal Montgomery's brother.

Could you look at Milner Road, Heswall in a future video? There used to be a council yard there (until the late 80s) with a massive shed structure for storing vehicles which is now the Cherry Tree Mews. Plus the Slack pub which had a huge car park into fields backing onto Downham Drive. Thanks! 👍

Thank You for taking the time to have a look. I paused the video & found what I was looking for.
The "old hall" as you mentioned is actually the church at the top of church street. Liscard Hall was on the 1970's image left of the circus tent or whatever that was & just to the left of the rose garden which has the small cross shaped path crossing it with the little round grass island, heading toward the cricket pitch, now the Hall's gone it's just a car park & statue. The Withens lane college site was on withens lane in Liscard, next door to where Liscard Primary School is today. I saw on one of your earlier videos that you had Egerton Street School (the old Liscard Primary site, with outdoor loos, cold in winter!), I briefly went there in year 4 before we carried our own chairs up to the withens lane site (the former grammer school I think it was).
Thank you again for taking the time to go to that part of the map. I watched the video a few times when it came out but forgot to comment & say "thanks". I really enjoyed looking at the very old maps you showed too, fascinating stuff!

I'd be interested in anything you can uncover on the old Storeton Quarry tramway.

Remember being emergency admitted by ambulance to Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital Heswall as a young child in 1950s. In and out of consciousness for days, maybe weeks; possible reaction to penicillin and they saved my life.
Apparently was unconscious at home, woke briefly in the ambulance there, was told I would hear the bell ringing as we set off - didn't! Woke again on being carried out of the ambulance, into the Hospital, remember seeing corridor ceiling lights whilst being wheeled in. Had no awareness of doctors or nurses doing anything with me during that time. Then woke again briefly hours or days later. Every occasion of waking it was an entirely different time of day or night!
