The intricate guitar play is the best part of DGD. Really chaotic stuff that always manages to sum up to something more cohesive and beautiful than its constituent parts.

@@yhamez37 Absolutely! I love DGD, but understand the vocals aren't for everyone, but the work of Will, Andrew, Matt and Tim (RIP) are well worth the listen on their own
@@yhamez37 check out some of their older stuff. I'm not huge Tillian fan but he was the replacement for their original vocalist. Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean, Downtown Battle Mountain and Downtown Battle Mountain 2 have Jonny Craig as the lead vocals who I think is so much better than Tillian

Dgd is my friend's favorite band. Recently I listened to their entire discography, and I understood why. Thank you for your reaction to the song
I'm still here :D All three singers also have their own projects if you want to hear more:
* Tilian Pearson (high cleans) has his solo project "Tilian" which is more pop/rnb focused.
* Andrew Wells (mid cleans) is originally the singer of a band called Eidola. He has been a touring guitarist for Dance Gavin Dance for many years but is now an official member since 2021. Eidola's record "The Architect" was my album of the year 2021.
* Jon Mess (uncleans) has a side project called "Secret Band" (with Will Swan on guitar and Matt Mingus on drums, all three are also in DGD) which features more of that dark and gritty side of Dance Gavin Dance.
Dance Gavin Dance if one of my favorite bands and I would love to see more reactions of their work 🤘

Was a great analysis. I have always admired how they record and produce their music. I got the impression that a lot of it was done by the same person production wise (unsure about recording) and it is PHENOMENAL how well such a DENSE track can be made with such clarity. Ive spent times listening to a specific DGD song on repeat for long periods and its like I never stop discovering something new buried somewhere in their soundgarden. Amazing players, amazing production team, really fun marketing and polish on all the products. DGD is a real treat to experience as a fan.

Great video! Extremely underrated band that has had setback after setback they don't deserve, especially after losing a band member. They have been putting out S tier music for over a decade.

Dance gavin dance is my favorite band but i sincerely miss their more mathy progressive sound over their modern pop rock sound i really hope they go back to happiness dtbm days again a fusion of both would be ideal similar to deathstar where you got bangers like burning down the nicotine armoir and uneasy hearts mixed with rock solid and caviar

One of the greatest melodic vocalists I've ever heard. They're always incredibly catchy. Words don't do them justice, just the chicken skin on my back! Can't believe they're still killing it, all these years later. Arguably ageing like a fine wine.

been listening to DGD for over 15 years now and I have never been able to get friends or anyone else into them mostly because of the screaming which is a shame because I feel like there is so much more going on in their songs.
Even my gf watched some YTuber she likes that was wearing a DGD shirt and she told me that she was shocked because didnt think the band was that big or known

Great guitar in this. Vocals aren’t my thing, but they’re not terrible (except what sounds one an effect on his voice that is making it sounded kinda like it’s being sung through a fan. Really weird choice to me.
I think the vocals would even grow on me a bit, but that vocal effect (or whatever it is I’m hearing) is really messing it up
