That Philippines round is just unbelievable. It's 14.9278795 N,120.0618508 E. There's like one road that has those poles and nothing on that one road looks like the Philippines. Every other road looks 100% Filipino.
6:22 The Norwegian rail network only goes up to Bodø. The railway in Narvik is an extension of the Swedish network and the short one in Kirkenes is not in use. So if you see a railway, you're very unlikely to be max north.
jake on the random czechia forest round at 14:54 you can see the back of the google car so it had to be europe. in US (and most countries outside of europe) you would see the front in gen 4
I'm also going to struggle.... especially with NMPZ. But I do think on average, I can manage my bad calls enough that I can still win more than I lose.... but we'll see. Crappy timing for me, as I finally got my foot back in the door of Champion. I am putting off doing NM/NMPZ duels until I have to for seasons. Just practicing some ACW NM/NMPZ in the mean time to warm up for it, especially if I stay in Champion, as I know I will desperately need it there.
17:50 there's no hogweed that's planted, really. It's an undesirable plant to have near your property cuz of the horrible burns you can get from it, and it's very hard to exterminate it too so if you see it, it's definitely just one of the hotspots that I'm sure you know.

I love your attitude going into this new update, you recognize that it's good for the game even though your ELO might take a hit. I'm excited to watch how you'll adapt your skillset!
Your round at 6:40 reminds me of a loc I had a few days ago where I sent max north Norway because I saw language and my opponent sent Iceland and was closer because it was southern Norway.
I think it is inevitable that rating will be a bit more volatile, but in the end it should mean that if you do play all modes you will improve as a player. I'm looking forward to the new season!

I like the formats although NMPZ being blocked to non-Masters is an interesting choice if they're going to make up part of the season rankings - I would also say that paywalling the game is a bigger update but I've not seen discussions of that (although I am happy to be informed if there are channels talking about it)
only thing they could have made better is to switch the positions of nmpz and moving because everyone i try to queue for a moving duel i automatically click the one on the right and i drained so much elo already because i cant play nmpz to save my life
I love the new update, I just wished there were 3 separate leaderboards to see how high you can reach in each category. If you put them all together ppl will just play the mode that suits them the best to climb up the leaderboard

I'm annoyed the elo's are combined, it really doesn't make sense to be. I'm also annoyed you have to be a certain rank to play them (gold for NM, master for NMPZ)
Hi Jake. "No move" is not available if one is not in the gold division, and NMPZ is not available to those not in the master's division, I struggle a lot to become a master, and I feel punished by this non-sense rule from Geoguessr
@@jakelyonsgeo If you click on a Uliastai loc you'll see there's a little hook thing on the left side of the tent. It's in a lot of the western coverage, but not on the road from Ölgii to Khovd (but sometimes in Ölgii itself), and not in the coverage south of Khovd (Khovd and Govi-Altai provinces).
I agree, this is the biggest update at least since they switched away from world map and maybe even longer. I still don't know why they didn't create separate leaderboards though. It feels like such a different skillset, comparable to chess where you have different ratings for bullet, blitz, rapid and classical. But given the developers response to the community the post free months they will probably implement it at some point.

That round was utterly insane, had to pause and go check that area several times but couldn't find it until you provided coordinates.
