I read a book of the same name. He was actually on a ship with the other crews, when the ship got hit by a storm, collided with a rock and he basically meets small people, super giant people, got lost in the ocean, gets rescued by a ship, and everybody onboard shocked by the things he brought. I remember watching this in theaters, and I like this adaptation of the OG book.
Instead of a nobleman stumbling upon a new world, it's about a loser finally getting some self-esteem.
The most unrealistic element of this movie is that Gulliver could continue writing or working for a newspaper after being caught plagiarizing an article.

I vividly remember my sister telling me this story years ago after she read it in a book, it was very captivating.
I read it a few years later and it was even more captivating.

Gulliver's Travels was in our book when I was at 8th standard...loved the original story but movie wasn't bad either...a different take on, of the timeless classic!

This movie was one of the favourites for the 90's kids. The good old days were the best. Although that era was less technologically advanced but people were happy in small things.

I wish there were a version of Gulliver's travels but in a more "adult/serious/realistic/epic" fashion, like one space traveler crashlanding in a planet of Lilliputian beings and with more close to science situations.

I remember that I loved this movie when I was younger
I think I’ve found a movie that has less to do with the book it was based on than the Percy Jackson movies. Gulliver was a respected voyager in old-timey Britain, with a wife and kids. His time with the Lilliputians is actually the shortest of his three stays, including the barely-seen giant-world and a planet-of-the-apes situation involving horses.
It's a readaptation for the modern people. I myself have read the novel (thanks to my school) and yes the book is actually better like every book being adapatated into a movie but can't blame them, people these days don't like classic novels nor their adapatations.
