If it's multiple diesels, it's typically referred to as a "Lash-Up". If they're separate in the train, then they're either DPU's (Distributed Power Units) or manned helpers.

Hey Frantic I was wondering if you could check out this layout that I made called Paranapicaba Old Version Completed 1.0. It's a really cool and big layout that is a completed version of an older build of the official Paranapiacaba layout that had a steel mill section.

Frantic if you go inside the The Rock train if you hold down caps lock the horn becomes longer
I think some of this layout is loosely based on Blue Island, IL. Also I have to say that 2 of the engines on this map actually still exist in real life as part of the Illinois Railway Museum, CRI&P(the rock as you called it) 4506 and CNW 1518(the third engine on the yellow and green lashup)

Just so you know, the blue Rock Island locomotive is in the scheme called “Bankruptcy Blue”. But, I call it… “Reborn Blue”!

We call it a triple headers
When you're having multiple locomotives in the front and their diesels I think they go by units so ABC for steam engines it's double triple header or more

Only a and b units and thats more so when referring to F unit style locomotives. Though there are some b units today.
