Kids still think the cartoon is the original when the Teen Titans have actually been in the comics since 1980. The REAL Teen Titans(DC comics versions) are young adults(anywhere from 22 to 24 years old) instead of teens. And as for her personality she was never moody in the comics, just an empath. The cartoon was aimed towards kids younger than 8 and as such they got rid of anything about the characters that was not kid-friendly(Starfire suffered the most from this) and completely overblew what was kept out of proportion(Starfire and Raven suffered the most from this as they did not resemble their comic counterparts AT ALL). Unfortunately the cartoon is fondly-remembered(it was average compared to the DCAU) and - due to Teen Titans GO! - the show has become overpraised to where it overshadows the comics and thus Raven and Starfire are mostly viewed as the way they are in the cartoon(which does not fit in with a realistic setting).
