  • The gospel of Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, but it is nonetheless an excellent recounting of the life and teachings of Jesus, which is remarkably consistent with what Matthew and Luke wrote in their gospel accounts. This is the sixth chapter of a fully illustrated/partially animated interpretation of the gospel according to Mark.
In this chapter, Jesus sends out his disciples, to put into practice all that they have learned from listening to his teachings. Meanwhile, John the Baptist is facing his fate, after the king makes a hasty promise to the daughter of his latest wife. When the disciples return from their experiment with living by faith, they join with Jesus in feeding thousands of people! To this day, nobody fully understands how they did that. When it's all said and done, and while the disciples are in a boat out on the sea, they see something they do not expect...

What is "A Voice in the Desert"?
The purpose of A Voice in the Desert is to point people to the message, rather than the messenger. Most modern day prophets promote themselves more than the teachings of Jesus and the true message of Revelation. A Voice in the Desert challenges that error and more. Some of the things you hear on this channel may be difficult to understand, and may offend you. The goal, however, is to sweep away dogmas and traditions to reveal what Jesus actually taught.

READ THIS FIRST: We have recently opened our videos up for comments. However, the comments are all moderated; they must be approved before they will appear. Please be patient, as this could take a few days if I am busy with other things.
Here are some guidelines if you would like to have your comment approved:
    1. Keep it short. This rule is partly to help YOU. People simply will not read long, rambling posts.
    2. Keep it relevant. (See also #3 & #4.) Relate what you are saying to the video you are commenting on, or to something said by the person to whom you are replying.
    3. No sermons. If you want to preach, do so on your own channel. This is a forum for discussion.
    4. Bible references: Say enough to indicate what the passage says, but major on sharing how you think it relates to the topic. Try to avoid chapter and verse references on their own.
    5. Rudeness will not be tolerated.
    6. No links. This is generally seen as trying to drag people away from this channel to some other channel or site.
    7. One point at a time. Many different arguments in the same post do not allow time for two sides to be heard on a single point. Share your best argument (or two), and see what happens.
    8. Misinformation based on so-called Internet "research" that is not supported by credible evidence will be deleted.

Should I start reading the KJV or NIV Bible to study the Bible?

Luke here, responding on behalf of Voice. It isn't terribly important which version of the Bible you read, though some versions do change Jesus' words in confusing ways. Personally, I'm fine with the NIV, but sometimes I refer to the KJV or NKJV if I want to double-check something.
The main thing is to focus your Bible study efforts on Jesus and his teachings, found primarily in the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus is the Word of God, after all. bit.ly/SecretNameofJesus1

Luke here, responding on behalf of Voice. Yes, we do have a video on Sodom and Gomorrah, which explains the main reason Jesus gave for why it was destroyed.
The video is called "The Days of Noah and Lot": bit.ly/3OmL6lt
