    With reference to above vedio, being a PSB employee, i am clarifying some facts:
    1) Nationalisation of banks was done so that banking services could penetrate into core india i.e. villages and should not remain confined to cities. Secondly, with govt. owning the banks, people feel their money secured. As i am working in a rural branch, i know this fact. Thirdly, the private sector banks are only worried about profit making. Their aim is "whether the ways are ethical or unethical, it doesn't mean. Just make profit." Finally, their will be lack of financial inclusion. More PSBs means more banks in rural areas. But when there is no share of govt., the main aim wil become profit making.
    2) Mergers wouldn't mean like 20 staff at the place of 5 staff. My dear brother, the staff will remain same. The reason being that with mergers, the no. Of customers will not be affected much. It might be reduced by 5-10% but you can't expect more than that no. Of people having accounts in the banks who are merged together.
    3)D Subbarao's words are just a piece of rubbish, not worthy to be published on a platform with more than 6 million subscribers. But Raghuram Rajan has shown a good way forward.
    Thanks and regards

      @ankushsharma1221 Před 5 lety +1

      @@manojtidke2142 Yes, they will be affected. But you can't blame merger to be only reason for that. There are multiple reasons for it. Mergers will reduce jobs but only by 5-10%. Overall after a few years, the bo. Of vacancies in banks will reduce drastically due to some other reasons.

      Nationalization is an old concept and is now time to wrap it up and change course to strengthen Indian Economy.
      (1) Reduce government stake in all PSU's including the PSU Banks to below 49%.
      (2) Further liberalize the economy by (a) strengthening and increasing autonomy of regulatory bodies.
      (b) Stop MSP's and farm loan waivers, it distorts the markets stoking inflation.
      (c) Stop Mudra Loans, they would be the next source of NPA cycle.
      (d) Stop loan subsidy under PMAY.
      (e) Introduce FRDI bill and then introduce stringent bill for individual defaulters.

    I would like to clarify a point that Lehman brothers and world crisis was due to systemic collapse of multiple checks and balances.
    (1) Over exposure to synthetic CDO's
    (2) Failure of rating agencies to transparently and fairly judge and rate the risks of the natural and synthetic CDO's.
    (3) No barrier or hands off approach between trading, investment and banking business.
    It's NOT the large size that made it go bankrupt but the ineffective corporate governance and lax regulator

    Ok sir u r explaining PSBs with less research I think. PSBs are there to infuse feelings among common people that your money is safe, in rural areas people don't want anything extra they just want that their money should be safe and they should have their money whenever they wants, but if merger is only option then I think people will lose confidence because their bank in which they have accounts are no longer in existence, this is not good step for rural India. I m working in bank of India, I know the ground reality. Please do some research that what will happen to rural areas after merger. There is no redundant posts in PSB infact there is huge staff shortages.
