i met Philo... i was at a little dinky beginners' course in our area a few years ago throwing some distance over a soccer field and here comes Philo with some Prodigy drivers (first time i ever heard of Prodigy)...doing a little promo work at local courses for a local business... i did not know who he was at the time. i have a pretty big arm for an old guy and here he smooths a forehand about 450 or so just showing me how they work... and he tells me to keep my disc lower through the throw on my backhand... i wish i could.. i am not a flat stomach like Philo! then throws a sidearm into a trash can about 60 yards away demonstrating how the disc (a D1) skips. bullseye. i went home and looked him up and felt a a lot better about how he crushed my distance pride. lol super friendly and thoughtful. i have been playing since 1979 and i can say he has the "spirit of the game" that was present in the early days. i only wish i knew how cool that meeting was at the time.

I love how Philo's bag looks more like a normal amateur's bag. X-Outs, ink jobs. Seems like a great guy.
He also uses more discs with DX plastic then any top pro player you will see.
I will say I have a grid aviar and it’s a 172g and I wouldn’t trust it in the wind
Philo's a beast but also a super cool guy. Got super lucky and he had time for me to buy some coaching from him on his way back from worlds and I gotta say, if you can do it, you should do it. Set me straight, showed me some really small tweaks that were super important and got some confidence back on putting. Recommended, 100%.

Discmania FD(C-line) or Jakal(S-line). One of my favorite discs, handles good power and different angles of release really good.
He should be in a lot more tournaments. Saw him compete fairly well with McBeth in a tournamenton CZcams and he seems to really good.
ive played with philo and seen him wield that blizzard destroyer like the master he is.

I'm new to the game. I have 1 desk that I truly love it is a 74 -2 _2 and I have been able to throw it as far as anyone else with their drivers. It's a lime green leopard.. period. How do I transition into using multiple disks for my game when I have one that does everything for me

Jordan May I would definitely go with a leopard over a cheetah but that's just me... Both are great beginners discs, so if you want just flip a coin
I've been having great luck with the leopard. What other discs would be good for an am?
a Valkyrie is an awesome choice for mad distance, if not that then a sidewinder and or road runner would be good too... if you're going for max distance try out a mamba maybe but I wouldn't know if that's too fast of a disc for an am or not
I was looking at a Mako because I do really like stable discs. That sound pretty good?

Grew up battling phi or ever weekend. top player...has a sick putt, he was prob my top rival. He'd take me out of an event , and I'd take him out. Super fun competitor.
