His brain probably had a moment of appreciation for the drop there and he had to actually process it. Our brains easily get bored by overly repeating tones so a sudden surprise within music always makes us feel good or so I heard and experienced

he's free styling, that's why there are times he thought he gone too fast because he never heard the song before so he adjusts accordingly.
