- Check out Miguel Díaz-Rivera"s thesis project that he did at the Academy of Art University. He made an homage to the original comic book turtles. But wanted to create a realistic approach and not having them as teenagers.
Synopsis:
40 years after the war against the Foot, a Japanese ninja clan. Four mysterious veterans are preparing themselves for the fight of their life.
This short film is a non-profit fan film and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures or any of their parent companies or affiliates. The freeze motion is very impressive! The modeling is also well made. props to the producers.
Leonardo is blind, but he can swing the katana like before.
Mickey is hurt, but you can hear that his agility is still there
Donatello lost and arm and a leg, but we know Donnie, he is too smart for being affected by that
And Raph... that scream... was a scream of pain and lost...
i got caught off guard when i realized that Leonardo had no eyes, its good to see the boys back and that music when they made that epic appearance, that Donatelo always finding time to improvise even when there is none i think Don took leadership right there when i noticed Leo`s eyes and he came foward a bit, i was so proud to see Michael the youngest and goofiest of the group get ready for a hard fought battle, i gotta big surprise when i saw him with one arm. It made me think of Future Gohan and then i was in awe from then on.
I think it's based off of STNC, or Some things never change.
Okamei Kitsukami I think you mean The Same as It Never Was, right? That was the 2003 TMNT episode where Donnie went to the future, Leo was blind and Mikey only had one arm.

Leo without eyes, Donny missing two limbs, Mikey's arm's useless. It's sad to see deteriorate like this. Their master AND Cassy are gone too?.. Man... This is really good work, just not a future I look forward to. Lol!..

The turtle designs in this are my favorite, but I’d make their necks longer and their heads a bit bigger
I loved the more realistic and highly detailed look this production gave the Turtles as well as the return to the original darker, grittier atmosphere. The nod to the original TMNT comic at the end was beautiful.
When I realized Leo was missing his eyes and Donnie his foot, it broke my heart. But at the same time it was so heroic the way they all stepped up, even Mikey, fighting and winning despite injuries. Even so I still wanted to cry and hug them all and make them feel alright because I'm a complete softy like that.
Anyway, this was really well done! Thank you!

A bit too realistic looking for my taste but its a hell of a lot better than what Micheal Bay could make. Good job guys :)

especially the darker tone and the fact of having blood the special effects are very good also I just didn’t really like the look of the turtles but it’s cool too 🐢🐢🐢🐢
this will never work... "why?" cause the turtles look to damn real and as we know, the turtles need to look like toys... and not at all battered and bruised cause kids wont like them... even though the original fans of the turtles are now parents them selves and would love to prolly see this movie come to light... What all is on the tuttles trophy shelves? And spectacularly done! Loved the designs and the injuries showing they have been at this for some time. I'm excited to see if you will do more with them.

I love this version of the turtles! Is Leo blind? It definitely is an edgy and dark version of the turtles that I would like to see as a full length feature for sure!

What I don't like is the way the Turtles look like. I'm not into the huge body and shell with tiny heads.

Actually, as far as I can see, Leo is the only one whose mask seems to lack eye holes, I think he's the only one who might be blind. In which case, I have to wonder how he can still fight. Maybe he was blinded a long time ago and managed to re-train himself in a vein similar to Daredevil.
ninja turtls is a very good movie
Plz do a hole movie with these turtle designs but when there teens and not veterans and make a shredder suit with bebop and rocksteady
It was a good effort, I didn't care for this style of turtles but my bigger quip with this was that 40 years later and the bad guys still look like weak expendable knock off characters that couldn't hit the side of a barn yard door even if they were 5 feet away from it.
They're a bit chubby but I like them way better than the Bay produced Turtle-Hulks. The frozen in time action was one of the best versions of the effect I've seen, especially with the merged in CG.

I actually wouldn't mind these designs realistic but also not too realistic I think they need more comic accurate heads though.

Really good I thought that the design was pretty good it thin it was a little to bloody for the turtle unless your aiming for the original but I’m okay with blood just in less vital but kept up the good work 👍🏼

If I have one critique, it's the music. It's way too melodramatic, and doesn't fit with what's happening on screen.
the turtles looked bad overall but the gear they where is cool like Leonardo wearing his over his eyes is very interesting.

Also, I’m glad a woman was added in this video. Need more women, dark skinned people and others, just to be balanced. Blood from both ninja turtles and people are nice.
By the way, I read your description about this project for a school, which is understandable. Nice job there.
