As a new content creator, I am having too much fun learning DBD right now. I have seen a couple people play the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but haven't been able to try it myself. It looks like fun, and I may try it once it has been released for a little and worked out most of the bugs.
Absolutely hit the nail on the head with your closing remarks. In virtually ANY market two different things can co-exist and still thrive. DBD has their broad in-game lore that allows this huge playground of content with virtually no limits for what could be added in the future. A great benefit for The TCM Game is the ability to play with friends as The Family or Victims...and I've heard SO many people incredibly excited to get together with their friends to play as The Family.
I just want one other asymmetrical horror game to be in peace with dead by daylight I don’t want there to be only one asymmetrical horror game being played I want there to be a variety of games
Personally I adore Dead by daylight, its a game with a thriving community and no matter what when they begin to spiral down a path of bad they manage to do something to pick up the pieces. The lore is also super fascinating too, its simple but all the non-liscense killers have their own backstory that ties in almost perfectly with their kit.
It’s such a staple horror game and although we give the devs crap (more than they deserve sometimes), they still love their game and it’s clear they still are putting effort into it. The game will only die when the devs stop caring.
from midnight last night to almost 10 am my friend and I played dbd. Yes this is an unhealthy and no, I do not recommend it. But, we pretended to be babies with urban, self care, bite the bullet and diversion and my god it was so funny. It brought back my love for the game.
see this is how you make the game fun again, you have to make your OWN fun. you cant rely on anyone else to make your experience enjoyable but YOU! i love memeing as killer even against toxic survivors, if they tbag, i nod. if they click, i slow turn, etc. it makes it funny and i end up having a blast. i go in with the mindset of well, if i get outplayed, that means they're just better! it takes skill and i respect that. as survivor, i like to meme with other survivors since killers often play seriously, i love being a bartender lol
@@arwen08 I completely agree! I try to play as casually as possible but a lot of the time, the killers I go up against seem to see having fun as throwing. The other day I had a cenobite on the game who holed himself three times in the space of a minute and they kept doing it lol Game ended and we were laughing about it in endgame chat It just gave me hope that fun people and memers still exist in the community
@@LightYagamiSOS oh they're there, you just gotta sort through all the toxic people to find em. i get nice survivors every few games. i was playing demo on springwood, i let the steve go multiple times to not tunnel, however he decided to complete one of the last gens instead of healing, so i killed him. afterwards, despite the jill being toxic, i just carried on not upset at all and killed her. then when i went to check on the gen, i heard meg's locker close, so i opened it and hooked her, and then again a few seconds later, i went to check on another gen, and heard claud's locker close, so i hooked her the same way lol! in end game they were just like omg how did you know right awayy and we laughed about it
Moments like that are what make DbD the game that it is, I think. Every match can be a surprise. You can go against a killer who out plays you in one match, and then move into one where the killer just wants to meme around. Same with playing killer. Sometimes survivors are coordinated and running you for gens at a time, and sometimes they just want to mess around with funny builds, or just meme around. I also (unfortunately) play a lot of DbD, and I've been invested in it for a long time, but what keeps me coming back isn't even content drops, usually. It's the antics of other players.
I had a alot of hope for VHS. I never expected it to kill DBD and i always hated the comparison. I feel very let down by the VHS devs. They have really dropped the ball with that game. Also the VHS community is full of overwhelming toxic positivity. Also its kind of funny how all the main VHS streamers did nothing but talk crap about DBD & its community all the time, just to come crawling back to DBD once VHS died 💀
@@Doncroft1 Community only ever has good things to say about the game. Anyone that tries to bring up the serious negative issues plaguing the game gets eaten alive. The VHS discord and VHS twitch chats are a cesspool of overwhelming toxic positivity.
its the same thing that happened with Super Smash Bros and other platform fighters in the genre. games like Nickelodeon All Stars & Multiversus suffered this fate.
As good as dbd is, it's definitely not in a good place right now. While I agree it probably won't ever be dethroned, it's current "balance" is far from balanced. Behavior's problem is that they balance it based off their twitch/youtube content creators and not what the actual community asks of them.
Thank you for not putting Evil Dead in the thumbnail, as ED was very much capable of competing with DBD, especially seeing as multiple big horror IP's including Stranger things tried to get their content in the game. However due to Saber being incompetent, we were never able to get any of that stuff.
Nothing can beat DBD not as long as Mathieu keeps bringing more content like you said the only way for it to have a downfall is if they retire from dead by daylight and moved on to something else.
I mained Destiny for a very long time so I'm very familiar with the whole "this game is an X-Game killer" only for it to not be. I think you make a great point that expecting a game to be that hurts it's long-term chances of success because it marks it as a failure if it can't do that. A game can be successful, even if it doesn't dethrone the "king"
What I hate about this kind of thinking (the one you're addressing in the video), is that people think you can only play ONE thing. I hate people who only partake of one single game/thing and anything else is automatically bad and/or dead. I CANNOT play the same thing all the time or I'll get sick of it. I've taken multiple breaks from DBD, some lasting months, because I don't have variety in this genre to partake of. Closest thing I have is VHS, which I kinda liked, but it actually *is* dead.
Movies are something you watch a few times, games like DBD is something you play for a lifetime, i have been playing cents the beta, its anniversary is close to my birthday
YEAH I AGREE. i stream this game on twitch as a verity streamer and honestly the game has never been boring for me granted there ARE killers and Perks that i dont like but that does not mean i cant enjoy the game an example i dont like going against killers like Wesker and Trickster but that should not stop my from HAVING FUN!!!!

I love dbd and I am looking forward to what behavior is adding in the future. You had many good points. I am looking forward to TMC and I see TMC as good healthy competition. I also like what you said about hating when people say something is going to kill dbd because it makes new potential competitors look bad and fail and that can hurt games such as dbd. I think TMC is good competition for dbd and I am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to the new dbd content coming soon. I think every game has something it does well and every game has stuff that it could be better. Dbd is constantly improving but the problem is that some people don’t like or agree on the improvements. dbd is really like the main and only thing ive been playing for the past YEAR. dont get me wrong, occasionally i did hop on other games, but that was for WAY less than dbd. it's hard for me to try new stuff out, but when i tried dbd i was hooked instantly and now it's the game ill never stop playing. i do try and play a variety now but dbd will forever be my most played game.
First thing that’s come to my mind was that hype around Evil Dead game released last year I guess, but how long did it last? 2 or 3 weeks? 3 weeks of people saying it’s absolutely amazing and it’d gonna kill dbd, but after that the game died very quickly. With TChM it’ll be the same case, for sure.

Id argue that there is one game that came very close to killing dbd being Identity V, game is very similar to DBD and has had licensed events, and has a more chill fanbase, unfortunately it is restricted to PC and Mobile
Pro Tipp for everyone being fed up with DBD. Stopp. Play something else. Do something else. Stopp watching CZcamsrs, stopp watching Streamers. And for the love of God, stay away from Twitter, Reddit or the Official Forums. Get some Distance. And after maybe a few Weeks or Months, you will either really want to play again, or not even miss it. But most importantly, a lot of the frustration is going to be gone.
I definitely agree with the issue of people comparing new games to be "DBD Killers." I personally hugely enjoyed VHS (Video Horror Society) and, while it does have plenty of issues in its own right, it is still an amazing game, but because it didn't destroy DBD it seems like many have completely lost interest, which I find very unfortunate. There's plenty of fun games that are asymmetrical that are immediately lumped into with DBD despite the developers trying their hardest to make their own, unique, and often very fun game only for people to just dismiss it as "Well, it's no DBD."
The one game that no one ever wondered about was evil dead the game, evil dead the game is more of a nice celebration of evil dead, plus they only add stuff once in a while, mainly because it's a super small group for horror compared to BHVR and the Friday the 13th guys, hell they didn't even require dbd to remove ash and completed the game, better than Netflix so far
Comparing both games is really ridiculous like you said but I heard some people complain that the victims can't bully like in dead by daylight when the devs have stated in their mail about the game that the family is made to be stronger to put emphasis on the victims being just that, victims. I just hope the dbd community does not try and make it dbd 2 just for the sake of them not wanting to play less offensively than on dbd and then complaining.
Definitely agreed with you. As much of a love/hate relationship I have with DbD. But is there room for other similar games? Of course. Hell behavior themselves made an amazing similar game called Deathgarden that I still loved and wished still was around. Sadly mismanagement basically killed the game from the get go and by the time the right things got fixed, the population dipped too low for the devs to keep it going.
I agree with your points and I don't think tcsm will "dethrone" DBD but I think a lot of people mistake DBD needing licenses to keep players around as an issue every asym game is gonna face when that's just not true. DBD needs the licenses because the gameplay is mediocre (imo) but that is not an issue most other games face. Again I agree with your points! I think people just need to keep in mind even without all the licenses games can and will do extremely well. These games can co-exist just like you said
I don't want any of these other games to "dethrone" dbd I just...would like them to last more than like, 3 months before dying, dropping in playerbase so hard if you try to play you will just sit in a queue for over an hour. it's gotten to the point I've seen videos about TCM recommended to me, but I don't touch them, because I do not want to fall in love with another game that will just be unplayable shortly after launch.
The only game that can "dethrone" dbd is a dbd sequel and they shut the first one down. Other games won't and can't do it because they are really not the same. It is like comparing every Battle Royale game to Fortnite. Some people play it and some don't. It is all about the player's interests in the game and they choose if they want to play it or not.
There’s nothing to dethrone here cuz as of now every asymmetrical game companies are still on the search of REAL HORROR and REAL BALANCING. Dbd is just the stepping stone, as a dbd player im so sick of Only REAL CHANGES and Updates applies only to the killers. Survivor perks can’t even be on par against killer perks. Tbh, i still think VHS is much better than DbD.
Hi Aaron , I totally agree with you 100% because Dead by Daylight is an amazing Horror game that has amazing game play, new licenses and new OG characters, they always keep the game so fresh. Also don't forget Dead by Daylight Dethroned Friday the 13th game in 2016 due to copyright issues, that's why alot of Horror fans who used to play Friday the 13th game moved over to Dead by Daylight. 😊 😊 Im looking forward to the new Chapter as well as the Seven year anniversary event of Dead by Daylight as well as new Game play and comic books too. DBD *IS* a good game It's not perfect but if it wasn't good it wouldn't have the following it has now People need to get over themselves if they really think the game is bad then why have they been playing it this whole time
As much as I enjoy dbd I hope a new game similar to it comes out and completely kills it. Games just aren’t as fun as they used to be. It’s all about the meta now, with the same like 4 or 5 killers with all terrible team mates. I hope it gets killed soon I need a new game

My stepdad showed me this game back in 2018 -19 cus I like scary horror related things and I love dbd and is the only game I actually have fun in and just overall enjoy without getting angry like overwatch and its whole idea of chasing and being chased is just really fun and I don’t get bored dead by daylight is my life support and will always be lmao it is really the best game idc what anyone says even tho the imbalances and angry community it’s just a fun game to chill and play and laugh

Dbd will only ever die by eating itself alive. Bhvr will eventually make a catastrophic mistake that will ACTUALLY kill the game (not just a few salty players leaving for an hour). We need to drop the "will this kill dbd?" mindset and instead hope a game will provide healthy competition to incentivise better content in dbd. If there is a good game that dbd players can pivot to if dbd isnt good, bhvr will work harder on the game.
The reason DBD wont be dethroned is due to it's game play loop, no pun intended. That gameplay design is what keeps people coming back. As good a TCM looks i feel it will be another typical asymmetrical game that will never find that fun that Survivors have.
Don't get me wrong Aaron I agree with you but dead by daylight just hasn't been fun recently for me and a lot of players you solo queue and you get the worst teammates who want to DC kill themselves on the hook Killers with try-hard perks and add ons. Then you go to killer in the same thing the same meta perks that survivors use gen rushers and they get mad that you have to Tunnel or camp in certain situations just to win the game or just to have fun it's just dead by Daylights is not in a fun state right now unless BHVR finds a way to make Killer fun cuz killer is not fun right now and survivors hard to have fun if you're not playing with a full four.
That's why me personally I can't wait till Texas Chainsaw Massacre comes out because it looks like a game that's actually fun and it's a game were you can hold your own you're not just going to lose the game cuz your teammates want to quit and the biggest thing about Texas Chainsaw Massacre that people keep forgetting to mention compared to dead by daylight there's multiple ways to win the match there's multiple ways to escape dead by daylight is just doing 5 gen's and opening a door wow so fun people.

Along with all the bad that the game has I personally enjoy it. It was the game that actually got me into gaming more and it will always have a special place in my heart. I complain about it sometimes but what person doesn’t complain about something they love every once in awhile? I 100% agree with you on this.
The funny thing is a lot of the people that say they're bored of DbD or call it bad have 100's if not thousands of hours into it. I don't care who you are or what you play but any game would get stale at least once in awhile with that much play time. There's so many games that people love that will never be played nearly as much as DbD on average. I think if a 30ish dollar game can keep people playing for 100+ hours then they did good enough. There's people that have 2k plus hours and say it's not worth playing because it's boring or give it low scores. I've seen the same kind of reviews on MMO's, MOBA's etc. It makes absolutely no sense to me how people can think like that with that much play time put into them.
In my opinion VHS and the ash vs evil dead game were ruined by people saying that they were gonna kill dbd. and no one really plays them any more because they couldn't do it.
It always annoys me when people immediately jump to comparing games to DBD because that's what usually kills the game. IMO DBD is nothing like TCM and never will be. Sure you can say there's survivors and killers and they have to escape but that's the only similarity at all. I have almost 2000 hours on DBD and played TCM for about 34 and I will definitely switch over to playing TCM more over DBD.
Feel like DBD is getting boring though. The community is the worst I've ever seen because of how pathetic they are. Probably one of the most whiniest one as well. Then there's Behavior where they hand held survivors and are slowly killing the killer side with nerf after nerf after nerf. The community have been asking for fun modes yet it's been 6 years and it's still the same thing as always leading to one objective only, whereas games similar to DBD have survivors doing different things and being active instead of sitting in one spot. Not to also mention Behavior are lazy and takes them forever to put the smallest things in the game that should've been implemented long ago. When they get criticism they sugarcoat it with free nonsense bloodpoints and cosmetics to make people waste money to make them satisfied and yet somehow DBD lasted this long despite all that i mentioned. I hope TCM does so well. So far I'm hearing a lot of positive reviews and i hope the DBD players don't come here and want to ruin TCM because i swear they gonna come up with such madeup terms. I think the reason people come back is because of the license characters that Behavior brings to the game and because its kinda addicting. Or people come back just to see how things are only drop the game completely.
Dead by Daylight is surviving off of collaborations. Not because of gameplay. The game play of dbd is stale, the devs thinks that only adding new killer and perks is enough to mix things up. Instead of adding new objectives. TCM has the capability to add everything dbd can, new killers, perks, abilities, and maybe even collaborations in the future. But the main thing, is new ways to get your objective done. TCM currently has 4 way to get out currently, Dbd has 1 main and hatch which is very situational. Dbd has had years to add new way to interact with your objective to escape in the trial other than generator progress. I think it’s time they get a good competitor that will force them to change or slowly lose players to new games rising in the asymmetrical space.
Dead By Daylight is just a simple asymmetrical game that is very casual even though it has its competitive scene. TCM even though it's good, isn't as simple to play as DbD is. But I do agree people need to stop pitting games against each other. Just play the game because it's fun not because it's better.
Honestly I look at TCM more like friday the 13th a fun game to play with friends on both sides but a game that wont compete with dbd content wise. I know that people want other games to compete with dbd hoping they force behavior to improve dbd but TCM shouldnt be expected to do so.
I disagree with 4. You say that the fact that people return to DBD proves that the game is good. Well, I'm exactly a person who played DBD before, then stopped, then returned, then stopped again, then returned again. And I can tell you that I return to the game not because the game's fun. I find it sometimes dull and sometimes irritating and overall I hate the gameplay. I return because there's no alternative to it. It's the only multiplayer game that has horror characters from all these different franchises. And I like some content creators. But I don't find it a good game. No.
The points in this video won’t speak for everyone, and there will be people who return because either they have nothing else, they just want to check if the game has changed, or because it’s their job as a creator. But, for most people, I imagine they return because they find some amount of enjoyment in playing
There will 3 maps, 5 family members, 5 victims & cosmetics for everyone (Besides Cook & hitchhiker) at launch. I feel like that’s fair for a launch, and the devs already confirmed there’s more to come.
I hope texas chainsaw massacre succees, i played last year and i enjoyed it but it died, i did the same with propnight and wanted to do the same with vhs. I like the concept of dbd games and i want to have alternatives to play thats why i really want that tcm does not die.
So far from what the developers are showing the game doesn’t seem it’s gonna die soon they are already working on one new family member and another victim and the voice acting for the Texas chainsaw massacre is phenomenal Ana’s voice acting is so good Some of her voice lines got leaked and one of them was when she finds her sisters dead corpse and the emotions in her voice showed the voice actors are committed to their characters unlike dead by daylight I mean some of the voice acting is good but the resident evil voice acting is horrendous but you should see a video where the they leaked the voice line
I think both games should be able to coexist but to be fair dbd numbers have been dropping. Went from 50k to 30k. I think dbd will end up killing itself then another game, due to all the trash chapters they've been adding.
The only game that can kill DBD is DBD itself. Like what happened to Overwatch, for instance. It didn't fall to competition. Blizzard simply ruined it by being greedy shallow jerks.
I think the TCM game is just WAYYYY too different to *kill* dbd. It plays completely different on both sides and it’s almost incomparable. Like I’ve been watching FaZe jev make videos ab this game 😭
One thing I don't think is touched on enough as to why DBD is the king of the genre, is just how good the chase mechanics are. They're simple in concept, you can vault windows and drop pallets as a Survivor and use your power as the Killer to play around those things. As a beginner, that's not a hard concept to wrap your mind around. But as you delve further into DBD and start doing things like mindgaming against the opposing side and learning how to effectively use your power as Killer, you realize there's a lot more to winning chases against good players. The "skill floor" for chases in DBD is pretty low, but at the same time the "skill ceiling" is fairly high.
i think both games are great. but shouldnt be competing to dethrone each other, why not co-exist and give the category more games to choose from? i would still be playing dbd if it wasnt for bhvr's god awful decision to add mmr, yes it sounds petty but it brutally murdered the oceania community in dbd as lots and lots of players left and only the sweaty tryhards remained. all i want from bhvr is an actually good and working matchmaking system. just like the old rank system, it worked most of the time. bhvr completely killed my love for the game over adding such a poorly designed matchmaking system. mmr is never added to any game and does it work well, no it never works well. i wish they would listen.
They aren't even the same game type DBD is 1 v 4 TCSM is 3 v 4? or 4 v 4 ? ( I wasn't paying attention to that ) the point is they're very different and comparing them like they are the same thing is just weird to me.
I've only watched content of tcm on youtube and even by that it got (in my opinion) pretty boring pretty fast and i dont think they can bring the same "every game is different"-vibe that dbd has to this game, but i guess we will see 🤔😄
Do you know why that is because it’s the technical test they didn’t add all the family members but in your language killers and survivors 3 killers and two survivors weren’t added in the technical test plus they are already 2 maps not really this will all be released in the official release date it seems every game is the same but it’s because there are only 3 killers in the technical test but in the official release there will be 6 killers and 6 victims and 4 maps
Just make a game like resident evil 1 but in multiplayer. Most of the surviving team is defending from zombies while one (or more) of them is a traitor and someone is playing an overpowered monster who is hunting everyone down.

As good as dbd is, it's definitely not in a good place right now. While I agree it probably won't ever be dethroned, it's current "balance" is far from balanced. Behavior's problem is that they balance it based off their twitch/youtube content creators and not what the actual community asks of them.

Thank you for not putting Evil Dead in the thumbnail, as ED was very much capable of competing with DBD, especially seeing as multiple big horror IP's including Stranger things tried to get their content in the game. However due to Saber being incompetent, we were never able to get any of that stuff.
Nothing can beat DBD not as long as Mathieu keeps bringing more content like you said the only way for it to have a downfall is if they retire from dead by daylight and moved on to something else.

I mained Destiny for a very long time so I'm very familiar with the whole "this game is an X-Game killer" only for it to not be. I think you make a great point that expecting a game to be that hurts it's long-term chances of success because it marks it as a failure if it can't do that. A game can be successful, even if it doesn't dethrone the "king"

What I hate about this kind of thinking (the one you're addressing in the video), is that people think you can only play ONE thing. I hate people who only partake of one single game/thing and anything else is automatically bad and/or dead.
I CANNOT play the same thing all the time or I'll get sick of it. I've taken multiple breaks from DBD, some lasting months, because I don't have variety in this genre to partake of. Closest thing I have is VHS, which I kinda liked, but it actually *is* dead.
Movies are something you watch a few times, games like DBD is something you play for a lifetime, i have been playing cents the beta, its anniversary is close to my birthday

Just like all the trash talking tons did against DBD when The Quarry (i believe it was) released only to see them all crawl right back to dbd.
dbd is really like the main and only thing ive been playing for the past YEAR. dont get me wrong, occasionally i did hop on other games, but that was for WAY less than dbd. it's hard for me to try new stuff out, but when i tried dbd i was hooked instantly and now it's the game ill never stop playing. i do try and play a variety now but dbd will forever be my most played game.
First thing that’s come to my mind was that hype around Evil Dead game released last year I guess, but how long did it last? 2 or 3 weeks? 3 weeks of people saying it’s absolutely amazing and it’d gonna kill dbd, but after that the game died very quickly. With TChM it’ll be the same case, for sure.

I definitely agree with the issue of people comparing new games to be "DBD Killers." I personally hugely enjoyed VHS (Video Horror Society) and, while it does have plenty of issues in its own right, it is still an amazing game, but because it didn't destroy DBD it seems like many have completely lost interest, which I find very unfortunate. There's plenty of fun games that are asymmetrical that are immediately lumped into with DBD despite the developers trying their hardest to make their own, unique, and often very fun game only for people to just dismiss it as "Well, it's no DBD."
The one game that no one ever wondered about was evil dead the game, evil dead the game is more of a nice celebration of evil dead, plus they only add stuff once in a while, mainly because it's a super small group for horror compared to BHVR and the Friday the 13th guys, hell they didn't even require dbd to remove ash and completed the game, better than Netflix so far
it doesnt need to kill it. lol it just needs to be more fun to play.

Comparing both games is really ridiculous like you said but I heard some people complain that the victims can't bully like in dead by daylight when the devs have stated in their mail about the game that the family is made to be stronger to put emphasis on the victims being just that, victims. I just hope the dbd community does not try and make it dbd 2 just for the sake of them not wanting to play less offensively than on dbd and then complaining.

Definitely agreed with you. As much of a love/hate relationship I have with DbD. But is there room for other similar games? Of course. Hell behavior themselves made an amazing similar game called Deathgarden that I still loved and wished still was around. Sadly mismanagement basically killed the game from the get go and by the time the right things got fixed, the population dipped too low for the devs to keep it going.
I agree with your points and I don't think tcsm will "dethrone" DBD but I think a lot of people mistake DBD needing licenses to keep players around as an issue every asym game is gonna face when that's just not true. DBD needs the licenses because the gameplay is mediocre (imo) but that is not an issue most other games face. Again I agree with your points! I think people just need to keep in mind even without all the licenses games can and will do extremely well. These games can co-exist just like you said

The only game that can "dethrone" dbd is a dbd sequel and they shut the first one down. Other games won't and can't do it because they are really not the same. It is like comparing every Battle Royale game to Fortnite. Some people play it and some don't. It is all about the player's interests in the game and they choose if they want to play it or not.
There’s nothing to dethrone here cuz as of now every asymmetrical game companies are still on the search of REAL HORROR and REAL BALANCING. Dbd will only ever die by eating itself alive. Bhvr will eventually make a catastrophic mistake that will ACTUALLY kill the game (not just a few salty players leaving for an hour). We need to drop the "will this kill dbd?" mindset and instead hope a game will provide healthy competition to incentivise better content in dbd. If there is a good game that dbd players can pivot to if dbd isnt good, bhvr will work harder on the game.
The same conversation happens whenever there's another game that could compete against the Destiny franchise (Anthem, Outriders, etc).
It probably happens in most genres tbf, it just feels silly to me

The reason DBD wont be dethroned is due to it's game play loop, no pun intended. That gameplay design is what keeps people coming back. As good a TCM looks i feel it will be another typical asymmetrical game that will never find that fun that Survivors have.

Don't get me wrong Aaron I agree with you but dead by daylight just hasn't been fun recently for me and a lot of players you solo queue and you get the worst teammates who want to DC kill themselves on the hook Killers with try-hard perks and add ons. Then you go to killer in the same thing the same meta perks that survivors use gen rushers and they get mad that you have to Tunnel or camp in certain situations just to win the game or just to have fun it's just dead by Daylights is not in a fun state right now unless BHVR finds a way to make Killer fun cuz killer is not fun right now and survivors hard to have fun if you're not playing with a full four.
That's why me personally I can't wait till Texas Chainsaw Massacre comes out because it looks like a game that's actually fun and it's a game were you can hold your own you're not just going to lose the game cuz your teammates want to quit and the biggest thing about Texas Chainsaw Massacre that people keep forgetting to mention compared to dead by daylight there's multiple ways to win the match there's multiple ways to escape dead by daylight is just doing 5 gen's and opening a door wow so fun people.

The funny thing is a lot of the people that say they're bored of DbD or call it bad have 100's if not thousands of hours into it. I don't care who you are or what you play but any game would get stale at least once in awhile with that much play time. There's so many games that people love that will never be played nearly as much as DbD on average. I think if a 30ish dollar game can keep people playing for 100+ hours then they did good enough. There's people that have 2k plus hours and say it's not worth playing because it's boring or give it low scores. I've seen the same kind of reviews on MMO's, MOBA's etc. It makes absolutely no sense to me how people can think like that with that much play time put into them.

It always annoys me when people immediately jump to comparing games to DBD because that's what usually kills the game. IMO DBD is nothing like TCM and never will be. Sure you can say there's survivors and killers and they have to escape but that's the only similarity at all. I have almost 2000 hours on DBD and played TCM for about 34 and I will definitely switch over to playing TCM more over DBD.
Feel like DBD is getting boring though. The community is the worst I've ever seen because of how pathetic they are. Probably one of the most whiniest one as well. Then there's Behavior where they hand held survivors and are slowly killing the killer side with nerf after nerf after nerf. The community have been asking for fun modes yet it's been 6 years and it's still the same thing as always leading to one objective only, whereas games similar to DBD have survivors doing different things and being active instead of sitting in one spot. Not to also mention Behavior are lazy and takes them forever to put the smallest things in the game that should've been implemented long ago. When they get criticism they sugarcoat it with free nonsense bloodpoints and cosmetics to make people waste money to make them satisfied and yet somehow DBD lasted this long despite all that i mentioned.
I hope TCM does so well. So far I'm hearing a lot of positive reviews and i hope the DBD players don't come here and want to ruin TCM because i swear they gonna come up with such madeup terms. I think the reason people come back is because of the license characters that Behavior brings to the game and because its kinda addicting. Dead by Daylight is surviving off of collaborations. Not because of gameplay. The game play of dbd is stale, the devs thinks that only adding new killer and perks is enough to mix things up. Instead of adding new objectives. TCM has the capability to add everything dbd can, new killers, perks, abilities, and maybe even collaborations in the future. But the main thing, is new ways to get your objective done. TCM currently has 4 way to get out currently, Dbd has 1 main and hatch which is very situational. Dbd has had years to add new way to interact with your objective to escape in the trial other than generator progress. I think it’s time they get a good competitor that will force them to change or slowly lose players to new games rising in the asymmetrical space.
Dead By Daylight is just a simple asymmetrical game that is very casual even though it has its competitive scene. TCM even though it's good, isn't as simple to play as DbD is. But I do agree people need to stop pitting games against each other. Just play the game because it's fun not because it's better.
Honestly I look at TCM more like friday the 13th a fun game to play with friends on both sides but a game that wont compete with dbd content wise. I know that people want other games to compete with dbd hoping they force behavior to improve dbd but TCM shouldnt be expected to do so.

I disagree with 4. You say that the fact that people return to DBD proves that the game is good. Well, I'm exactly a person who played DBD before, then stopped, then returned, then stopped again, then returned again. And I can tell you that I return to the game not because the game's fun. I find it sometimes dull and sometimes irritating and overall I hate the gameplay. I return because there's no alternative to it. It's the only multiplayer game that has horror characters from all these different franchises. And I like some content creators. But I don't find it a good game. No.
The points in this video won’t speak for everyone, and there will be people who return because either they have nothing else, they just want to check if the game has changed, or because it’s their job as a creator. But, for most people, I imagine they return because they find some amount of enjoyment in playing

One thing I don't think is touched on enough as to why DBD is the king of the genre, is just how good the chase mechanics are. They're simple in concept, you can vault windows and drop pallets as a Survivor and use your power as the Killer to play around those things. As a beginner, that's not a hard concept to wrap your mind around. But as you delve further into DBD and start doing things like mindgaming against the opposing side and learning how to effectively use your power as Killer, you realize there's a lot more to winning chases against good players. The "skill floor" for chases in DBD is pretty low, but at the same time the "skill ceiling" is fairly high.

i think both games are great. but shouldnt be competing to dethrone each other, why not co-exist and give the category more games to choose from? i would still be playing dbd if it wasnt for bhvr's god awful decision to add mmr, yes it sounds petty but it brutally murdered the oceania community in dbd as lots and lots of players left and only the sweaty tryhards remained. all i want from bhvr is an actually good and working matchmaking system. just like the old rank system, it worked most of the time. bhvr completely killed my love for the game over adding such a poorly designed matchmaking system. mmr is never added to any game and does it work well, no it never works well. i wish they would listen.

Do you know why that is because it’s the technical test they didn’t add all the family members but in your language killers and survivors 3 killers and two survivors weren’t added in the technical test plus they are already 2 maps not really this will all be released in the official release date it seems every game is the same but it’s because there are only 3 killers in the technical test but in the official release there will be 6 killers and 6 victims and 4 maps
