Professor Namvar Singh was a towering figure in the realm of Indian literature and literary criticism. Born on July 28, 1926, in Varanasi, India, Singh's lifelong commitment and scholarly contributions to Hindi literature and criticism earned him widespread recognition and respect.
Education formed the bedrock of Singh's intellectual journey. He completed his education from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and went on to earn a Ph.D. from the same institution. His deep-rooted understanding of literature was not confined to the walls of academia; it extended to his prolific writing, critical essays, and his immense contribution to the literary world.
Professor Namvar Singh, renowned for his literary critiques and essays, was not primarily known as a poet. His significant contributions were in the field of literary criticism and analysis. However, he did write a few poems that reflected his nuanced understanding of language and literature. Here are a couple of poem titles attributed to him:

प्रोफेसर (डॉक्टर) मुकेश कुमार के बारे
एक शख्स जो सुबह यूनिवर्सिटी में पढ़ाता है, फिर किसी चैनल पर बहस कर रहा होता है, और शाम
को किताब लिखने में जुट जाता है! जी, वही हैं हमारे प्रोफेसर मुकेश कुमार.
उन्होंने मीडिया की दुनिया में 25 साल से भी ज़्यादा का समय बिताया है. सोचिए, जब टीवी पर रंगीन टीवी नहीं आते थे, तब वह पत्रकारिता कर रहे थे! उनके नाम छह न्यूज़ चैनल लॉन्च करने का रिकॉर्ड है, और अनगिनत शोज़ की एंकरिंग कर चुके हैं. उनकी बातचीत इतनी दिलचस्प होती है कि दर्शक टकटकी लगाकर देखते रहते हैं. ️
लेकिन प्रोफेसर कुमार सिर्फ टीवी के ही सुल्तान नहीं हैं. उन्हें लिखने का भी बड़ा शौक है. उनके 13 किताबें छप चुकी हैं, जिनमें से कुछ तो पत्रकारिता की तकनीक पर हैं, तो कुछ में उन्होंने कहानियों और कविताओं को पिरोया है.
अब सोचिए, इतना कुछ करने के बाद भी वह यूनिवर्सिटी में पढ़ाते हैं. उनकी क्लासेज़ में स्टूडेंट्स को सिर्फ थ्योरी नहीं, बल्कि असल ज़िंदगी का अनुभव भी मिलता है. कहीं ना कहीं वह अपनी ज़िंदगी का हर रंग अपने स्टूडेंट्स पर भी बिखेर देते हैं.
तो कुल मिलाकर, प्रोफेसर मुकेश कुमार एक ऐसे शख्स हैं, जिन्होंने मीडिया और शिक्षा की दुनिया में अपना परचम लहराया है. वह हर काम को पूरे जुनून और लगन से करते हैं, और यही बात उन्हें सबसे अलग बनाती है.

The prestigious 'Kuvempu Rashtreeya Puraskar 2014' will be awarded to noted Hindi writer Prof. Namvar Sing. The Award carries an amount of Rs.5,00,000 and a citation. The award will be given to him on December 29th at Kuppali by the Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Siddaramaiah.
Prof. Namvar Singh is one of the most articulate and influential of all living Hindi writers, whether critical or creative. Over the last decade or so he has acquired a pan Indian reputation as one of the tallest literary and cultural critics writing in any Indian language

@@user-kj8ko4th9s नमस्ते निधि मै'म। आपकी बात एक सीमा तक सही है। आदरणीय नामवर जी का जो कद है उसके मुताबिक़ प्रश्नकर्त्ता की तैयारी नहीं थी। इसके अतिरिक्त बात को (कुछेक बार अनावश्यक रूप से) काटकर आगे बढ़ने का आयास भी अटपटा लगा। अबूझी बातें निकलवाने के लिए सुनने का धैर्य ज़रूरी होता है।
पहली बार वीडियो देखने के बाद यह मेरी निजी राय बनी। मुझसे बहुत सी अच्छी बातें रेखांकित होने से रह गई हों, ऐसा संभव है।
