it's not that the robot is more melee prone but rather that the pilot may excell at one type of combat than the other. As for Masaki he has always been more of a melee based character

When Masaki says 秘剣 is he saying hiken or kiken? 秘 is the first character in Himitsu and as far as I can tell is never pronounced 'ki' but Aeon Genesis translated it as the "Deadly Discutter..." so I thought it might have been a pun on 危険 (kiken) meaning danger.
just asking but, i hava alpha gaiden and im at the part where u get wing zero,deathscythe,and heavyarms and u fight shenlong, and can u get cybuster in the 1 i got right now?
Um...they super deformed everyone from final onwards. Honestly it looks better that way: it's too angular otherwise, and it's supposed to look like organic knight armor.

Yeah in SRW3 it was my best unit. Being in between my reals and my supers. Valsione was also very useful too

The game had better style for the attacks in general. They made up for the lack in pretty graphics by making things look kool.
