    I think most people would CONGRATULATE Kim if she decided to get her bachelor degree in pre-law, go to law school and THEN take the bar exam. However, she's doing an internship and taking the bar exam in 3 years? (even though it is legal in CA), many see it as a shortcut and it looks like she's not serious or taking the actual struggles and hard work students take to pass the bar exam as serious. California has one of the HARDEST bar exams and only 20% of those who do an internship, rather than go to law school pass. So either way, only time will tell.

    • @maerunway8694
      @maerunway8694 Před 5 lety +92

      Why do love to glamorise the struggle? We really put peoples worth on how much they've struggled in life and it's so annoying. So what if she does it the "easier" way? She has the opportunity to do it that way and would be silly not to. She should not use the privilege she has gained through hard work because society deems you have to really struggle in order to be respected? Nah

    • @bookbag6432
      @bookbag6432 Před 5 lety +48

      @@maerunway8694 No one is glamorizing the struggle but we respect people who have come from the bottom because of what they have ENDURED. When you sleep your way or pay your way to the top, you do not get the same respect. Taking the easy way out has consequences as well. Less struggling but less respect. Its opportunity cost.

Regardless God Bless

    • @TheOnyxNightshade
      @TheOnyxNightshade Před 5 lety +51

      I don't get the "shortcut" argument. It's not like she's going to try and take the Bar exam next week. She stated her goal as 2022, which is 3 years away. That's the same amount of time it takes to go through a law degree program. And when she does sit for her exam 3 years from now, in order to pass it she's going to have to have the same knowledge and skill base as the law student sitting next to her. So where exactly does the "shortcut" part come in?

    • @bookbag6432
      @bookbag6432 Před 5 lety +27

      @@TheOnyxNightshade The shortcut is instead of getting a bachelor degree, taking the GRE, and then getting accepted and going to law school, she is taking an internship instead....That's why only 3 or 4 states allow this out of 50. Because most people do not agree with it....Most states REQUIRE a law student to go to law school and ALL LAW SCHOOLS require a bachelor degree.

    • @707Bubby
      @707Bubby Před 5 lety +44

      Im not her biggest fan by far, but she still does have to do the work, she has to do a 4-year apprenticeship and then take the "baby bar" to even be allowed to continue her apprenticeship after the first year and then go on and take the real bar. She still wont have a law degree and thats something that people who went through that "journey" still have over her. She has to take the same bar everyone else does, and people who go to top law schools still fail that test, so if she can pass it, then she will have earned it.
      In every aspect of everyone's life, there are things we have had to struggle for and that same thing you may have struggled for there are plenty of people who got it easily, and then there will be things that you have had easy that other people have had to struggle to achieve. I don't think its fair to say that people don't deserve something just because they have not had to struggle as much as someone else. There are people who have grown up on the streets, had to living in there cars and work every day and save every penny to be able to go to school and then become lawyers/doctors/musicians/athletes etc.....but it doesn't mean the person who didnt have to endure all that doesn't deserve to be lawyers/doctors/musicians/athletes etc. Its important to recognize that other people have it worse then us at times, to have perspective and be grateful. As a society/people, we do love the stories of people beating the odds and overcoming great struggles, being the underdog who achieves something after a hard journey to it, those things are very admirable.......but they are not REQUIREMENTS.

She is not taking a shortcut she is taking another option that others have already taken which is doing a Apprenticeship for 4 years. I believe she has already started. Please do your research before replying. She is not the first and definitely will not be the last person to do it this way. This way of becoming a lawyer existed long before her, it was not create for her. You just have a problem because it is Kim Kardashian that is doing it like this. You do understand that she will be writing the exact same bar exam as every other law student which means that she will have to have the exact same knowledge. She has to study the same work as all law students. so many other people have gotten a law degree this way but no one said anything. Please stop hating, it is ugly and disgusting. Why are we bringing each other down?? Your comment wont stop her from pursuing this dream, so its pointless even commenting

    I didn’t even watch this whole video but as a student who had to go through the struggle and work - she should go through the schooling to get to the bar.

    • @707Bubby
      @707Bubby Před 5 lety +15

      she will though, she still has to do 4 years of an apprenticeship and take the bar that everyone else has to take (the bar that students who have gone to prestigious law schools still fail), so if she can pass it she will then have earned it. I know it can be frustrating when people have it easier, but STRUGGLING isn't a requirement for most things in life, even though lots of us have to struggle and work really hard to get to where we want to be and what we want to achieve, and then you see someone not struggle at all and they are standing right where you are and its frustrating, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be right where you are too. Because someone has also had it worse than YOU, and that doesn't then just mean you don't deserve it just as much as them. Its not a competition, its not just the people who have had to struggle the most deserve to be able to do anything, just because you have not struggled the most does not mean you don't earn where you are. There can be LOTS of lawyers, there are probably 10-100s of thousands of people who have been lawyers, and there are also a lot of really BAD lawyers, its not like being a lawyer is reserved for the best and most deserving of society. If she can pass the bar and people want her to be their lawyer that is that. She isnt cheating the system and she isnt getting a degree, which people who have worked hard through the schooling will still have over her, she doesn't even have a bachelors degree, but she is allowed to be a lawyer if she wants to be despite having a much easier life than others.

    Here's the thing- if it wasn't right for Kim to become a lawyer by doing a four year law apprenticeship then it wouldn't be legal for her to do so. She is taking the steps that fit her life at the moment to meet the goal that she wants - not everyone has to go to college to get a law degree and become a lawyer, she is doing it legally and perfectly fine. The ladies on the view have nothing positive to say about this at all. They ripped her apart. Saying it's not right that she is taking "shortcuts". I can't stand that show, it's just a bunch of negative women who have nothing nice to say about anyone. I am very proud of Kim, I do believe that she is a very intelligent and hard working woman. I think they have all grown so much singe the beginning of KUWTKs... she runs multiple businesses and produces GREAT products and has three kids and is working for a law degree? That's pretty incredible if you ask me. If she is getting her law degree by not going to college for it that is perfectly fine.
