Sat. Sept 7, 1974 Montréal Forum - Bad Co. opens for Edgar Winter. Great set - all 8, 1st album songs; opening bands never played more than 40 mins, but THEY encored! Yet to be released ''Feel Like Makin' Love''+''Shooting Star''. When Edgar came on stage, he shouted: ''Give a big cheer for the best new rock band'. Classy move Edgar! Section 38 whites, row B Seat 1. Price: $5.50, now a priceless stub...

I CAN'T!!!! 1974------Great year of music. Miss those LPs and Quad 8 Tracks. We had a Quad system in our 1973 Sports Beetle and Quad in our house. Used to lay on the floor in the middle of the speakers and listen to "Dark Side of the Moon". The bells would revolve around the room and our dog would bark at some of the sounds coming out of one of the speakers! Great days...

The Poor Man's Led Zeppelin.....and A GREAT ROCK BAND as well.
It says a lot when the late, great Bon Scott acknowledged being a huge admirer of Paul Rodgers. (see the resemblance too? coincidence? )
All in all, 70's to early 80's rock music is the best: concerts, vinyl, true musicianship, real talent.
I'm sooo lucky and grateful to have grown with all of that and glad to know that even some kids nowadays are fed up with most of the current crap they are fed and turning to the "old stuff."

That's a great story; my band had a similar situation. We lost to a kid who swooned the crowd with some sappy Jack Johnson or John Mayer song, can't remember which it was, but either way, I wanted to gag. Luckily my band got 2 more opportunities to play for the school; we played a whole set of Led Zeppeling covers and that was a big hit, particularly with all the parents in the crowd.

I agree with that. And I'll comment that not only was there a decline in independent stations, but even big-market stations with program directors that operated independently. Radio wasn't blindsided by MTv, they just under-estimated it. And now, there's not even MTv.
I used to think it was some sort of meme seeing posts from young people claiming musical nirvana upon being exposed to the music we took for granted. But now I know it's no fluke; they're pretty much floored by what we had.
