    Date October 19th, 2014
    Seat: 5A United BusinessFirst
    **Below times are scheduled not actual**
    Depart Houston Intercontinental (IAH/KIAH): 9:10AM
    Arrive Tokyo Narita International (NRT/RJAA): 12:55PM
    Actual Flying Time: 13 hrs 55min
    Wonderful flight and service on one of my top 3 favorite aircraft. I only wish United would invest in adding United GlobalFirst to more of it's aircraft. Tokyo Narita Airport has to be one of my favorites as well, very efficient, clean, plenty of duty free shopping and everyone there was very kind.

    Takeoff is my favorite part as a passenger, the raw power of the airplane pushing you against the seat. Then the lift, felt like I was gonna fall through the bottom of the plane lol Took one of these to London, best flight I've been on.

    Please keep comments respectful to each other and to me. As a reminder this is CZcams. Just a place for people to watch videos. If you call anyone a horrible name or put a non constructive rude comment about my video; your comment will be deleted and you may be blocked. Everyone deserves respect. Very impressive video upon takeoff with the United airlines 777 from Houston, TX to Tokyo, Japan. I am wondering if Houston's, TX Intercontinental International airport has the same runway setup like Chicago's O'Hare International when it comes to East and West connection flights both arrival and departures. And you other disclaimer about unwanted content here, you right. I rather see content about airplanes and their destinations, not political correctness, that's why it called CNN for a reason.
      Thank You for the invite and view.

      I couldn't agree more! I prefer PW to any engine especially the GE! And also the fact that PW and UA have a very long history. I always said about GE I don't want dishwashers or refrigerators powering my airplanes 😛. There's one exception that I have equal love for and that's the 757 I love the PW and RR engines both.

      Absolutely, every time I fly United I loved hearing the P&W's until the merger, whatever you want to call it lol. Of course hearing airplane engines is always awesome no matter what just have my preference for the Pratts. The 757's and 777's especially :)

I was about to remove remarks and likes from this video biut you changed my mind. I don't understand why people feel the need to bash a CZcams video especially airplanes. Thank you much!

    Is that normal for the engine to appear to slow down and stop at between 16:20 and 16:30??? I would be a little nervous if I was on the plane and saw that...

    • @rbcoair737
      @rbcoair737  Před 8 lety +1

      Yeah I've seen it happen a few times. I believe below 10,000FT you can't go faster than 250 knots. The plane was probably climbing really fast to get above 10,000 and lowered its rate of climb at that point this needing less thrust. Another possibility and this could be tied to it is that in a busy area like the terminal area control center (I may have that phrase wrong) around a busy airport, the plane is told by ATC what speed it should be and how quickly they need it to climb, they may have asked it to level off temporarily due to traffic around us. But in any regard this happens on a lot of flights and the fact that the 777 doesn't always need a lot of thrust considering the power of the engines. I used to think every time that happened that it meant we were having to go back to the airport due to an issue. Anyway, we had a very smooth, comfortable, and safe flight to Tokyo.

    • @2pb
      @2pb Před 8 lety

      +Timothy Todd I believe it is a stroboscopic effect related to the speed of the turbines and the shutter speed of the camcorder. I'm not sure the effect (the arrow slows down- stops - and then goes backward )- is visible with the naked eye.

    • @Guampilot
      @Guampilot Před 8 lety

      Plane is leveling off at an initial altitude. When leveling off, it doesnt require much thrust to maintain 250 knots which is the limit of speed under 10,000ft. So the engines are reducing power so that it doesnt create excess power for maintaining the speed.
