Bhai, you guys probably have not followed Rohit's pressers and post-match talks. He has been saying clearly that individual scores of 50s and 100s don't matter in T20s. The entire batting line-up has been given specific jobs, and to score at a quick rate. They are not too worried about wickets falling regularly as long as team's run rate doesn't drop. What everyone is commenting about is India's batting not clicking is seemingly missing that point. They are doing exactly what they have planned. It may not always work, but so far it has.
People still use the metrics from ODI to judge batsmen in T20. A 50 in 40 balls is sometimes worse than a 40 in 20 balls. This whole idea that a batsmen played well only when they score 50 is absolute garbage in T20. Rohit Sharma's job is to score as many runs as possible in the powerplay. If he fails, it doesn't matter because that's what he is supposed to do every game. He shouldn't be changing his role to score 50 off of 50 balls like Rizwan and Babar do. They need to learn from R. Sharma rather than playing tuk-tuk for personal records.

To add to my point above: last night's score (vs Bangladesh) was the highest ever T20 score on that ground. So what's the metric for successful batting? 1-2 guys scoring big or the entire line-up contributing in cameos to put up a big team score?

Nothing against VK. Have spoken about his class many times in the podcast. Like i said, india ends up with underwhelming first innings scores because of VK approach. He will be a beast in chases but batting first, you need someone like jaiswal. Look at ind vs eng semi final where kohli score 50 from 40 balls. It is a real problem and i hope i wont bite India in the knock outs.

Bhai, our gameplay is different in this tournament, Virat and Sharma are not playing for their own 50s. When someone plays for the team they play like Kohli and Sharma and relax I think you guys forgot how King Kohli has smashed Australia all these years
I think you are unnecessarily trying to be sceptical about the Indian batting. They might lose or don't click in the knock outs. But, I think Kohli is someone who can absorb the pressure in high octane knock outs. He might not go blazing all guns, but he has a role. The only weakness in Indian batting is Shivam dubey, who looks under confident. Overall, a good batting unit which can perform, but every team can have a bad day.

As an Indian fan:
Kohli, Rohit, Jadeja should come forward and themselves announce retirement from this T20Is format.
I'd hate to see them struggle in this updated version of T20Is in 2024 where they don't fit in anywhere, they are still in the 2018 era and because of their age they can't upgrade their batting style.
So, it's better to give it a chance to youngsters instead of prolonging your career by struggling. I would hate to see them get abuses from fans later.
It's alright to accept that you aren't fit for something, even the Great Sachin Tendulkar never played T20Is for India after a point. Mind you Sachin in 2011 IPL was the highest run scorer with a healthy strike rate as well and yet he never played this format for Indian Jersey.
