One thing I noticed playing on next gen is some players run and walk like they do in real life. Karl Anthony towns, MJ, KD are the ones I notice that have their signature walk and run. It's pretty cool.

True but considering your watching a lower quality video of it, most current gen textures are in 1080p and most next gen textures are in 2160p (4k), so this is the best 2k23 for current gen will looks but not the same for 2k23 next gen cause the textures quality it lowered

I noticed the same thing, especially when they were showing the player’s faces. Some looks a lot better on current gen and then there were some that looked better on next gen.

the rim and net on next gen is just crazy good. even mods can't replicate that.
Some of the differences are barely noticeable , while others are more pronounced. It seems like 2k picks and chooses who they want to focus on. They should attempt to make player interactions more authentic to improve gameplay instead of focusing on creating sellable content to nickel & dime all of its supporters. C'mon 2k stop being lazy!! They're just slapping a new face of paint over & over on the same product! AND can they please figure out how to do hair on guys like Larry Bird & Dirk Nowitzki. I mean like it's 23 years doing this game..
they don't have real competition rn to make them change the formula. they are going to continue cutting corners until it finally shows in the profit. which i don't see happening for some time. im hoping EA comes up with something comparable. idc if they nickel and dime us too. as long as that money goes to work on improvements and healthy competition doesn't hurt. 2k on pc is hell. id play if they fix the cheating.

I just realized that the new hairstyles they added this year are Ja's Pineapple hair, Derrick Roses hair, and Reggie Bullock's dreads... so why aren't they adding ten's more since its that simple. Shit in 2021 they took ja's scanned hair (the pineapple one we have in game now) and put it on stax's facescan that year, if its that simple why do we not have more hairstyles.

Atmospheric improvements. Next-Gen is going to be all about the details in the environment for most games. (Which is why Ray-Tracing was a big highlight, now UE5 made it's debut last year to the public so games in the next years will be using more realistic physics in the environment).

Well they still haven’t matched the smoky realistic lighting and effects from 2k14 so they have plenty of room to improve.
I know this is late but yall gotta remember we haven't seen a true ps5 NBA game yet..so I think we'll see aleap maybe in 2 years or so

as far w/ graphics its more smoothed out on character models (look at the ears, nose & mouth) where as current has noticable jaggies. also compression shirts & sleeves sit differently. skin looks more life like, and overall the models look more 3 deminsional compared to them kinda looking flat on current gen (PS4,XO). now gameplay on the otherhand needs the biggest rework looking onward to 2K24 (Next Gen) and beyond.
I’m glad ps5 is still hard to get (which is wierd). Saves me money. It’s good but not so great I feel like I’m missing out. By the time the difference is huge hopefully they’ll be available. Probably a smaller better version than the current monstrosity for sell. I don’t want that big white spaceship any where near my gorgeous set up 😂
U can get different covers on the PS5.
The Eras mode and the fact that I had like 30 games with the PS5 upgrade, I just bit the bullet and got one.. The differences are staggering, but the eras mode was the only real draw for me

I think the PS4 version looks better in gameplay all round including background. Players uniforms look better and from a top view perspective playing game it looks superb. Yeh sure the players visuals are better on PS5 close up but from a distance can’t really tell much. I own a PS5 and prefer PS4 on my external as it saves Gigs to on internal. If it was heaps better I would install it on PS5 but I don’t believe it is heaps better on PS5. Thanks for sharing this video. It’s the best NBA game I have ever played btw. Love it that I got it $38 on sale digital with PS4/PS5 versions.

What has happened is that the latest consoles are on par with pc and now pc companies are getting a little nervous but the only way that we are going to get exact pc graphics with consoles are to put water coolers in the console and put massive system and the best graphic card but that’s not going to because Sony or Microsoft don’t want to lose the customer with a 3000 dollar or more console but the better the graphics the more you might forget you are playing a game which is already possible but that will make the common player of a game uninterested that’s why most pc players that want best graphics are ones that appreciate pc in general or someone with money and just wants to play on pc which nothing is wrong with pc I would love to play pc but console is more affordable and I think with consoles we are at the peak with graphics in a sense because there’s only I would say 30 to 40 percent that plays for the graphics and 30 to 40 that’s not playing for graphics there’s that 20 percent or so however that likes to see great graphics but can live without it because of liking to game I would put myself in that group but graphics do help some games God of War being one of them where it’s like playing out a movie

Next gen overall looks better. Foot planting, jersey details, shading, arena details and hair all look better. Hope this difference increases though

Current gen still looks good and dare I say better in some areas as well! Respect to 2k for continuing to support the game and implement new features. We're getting to the point where devs are starting to "legacy version" their games on PS4/ XBO but I'm glad 2k isn't. I'll have a lot of fun playing this year 😁
