No because at one point you either could pick GBA, NDS, and PSP. Those were your only form factors and options. Were in a future where we can cut the middle man on variety. No one has to get every device BUT every device they make will fit someone at some point. So many unique people with unique brains, styles and hand sizes... its only appropriate to open the market up and also inspire others to create their own devices as well.

Ive really been enjoying the RG cube but playing those 4:3 games does feel a bit small with the top and bottom bezels, I almost wish it was a 5" square screen instead of 4". Some games can stretch to the 1:1 and not feel too warped but I think in the end it almost feels better to have a designated handheld for designated systems.
Just get a TrimUi smart pro. you won't regret. Great screen, 4.98" , very bright and clear 720p screen. PSP runs 80% , similar performance or slightly better than the H700 chip. this device was overlooked because Anbernic keep releasing device after device and CZcamsrs just kept reviewing "this is it, the one we needed"
Not enjoying mine so far. Half the time it doesn’t turn on, then I’m finding a TON of the game are not mapped so I can’t even play the games and I don’t see where the mapping is actually at.
I find it strange that so many of these come out with ergonomics like no one actually play tested them. The analog positions look cery awkward for a smaller grip device. Fully agree on the horrid Switch type sticks too. Is there anyone out there that would rather pocketability over comfort?

I believe you can make Retroarch save the controller to player 1 as default by opening it WITHOUT running a game and changing the setting. Once you've done this make sure Retroarch is set to save on exit in the settings and then exit. Every game going forward should now be set to player 1. I'm not sure if this has to be done with just the one controller or if you have to do this for each new controller you connect.
Even with dockability and rumble the Switch Lite would still not be comparable or even superior to all these retro handhelds because they do the one thing the Switch does not do and that is Emulation. It's not even as if the Switch can not emulate games because it already does with the limited releases of retro games they already do as part of that monthly online subscription. Sad part about all of it is is that Nintendo has an extensive catalogue of retro games they are the ip holders of that they could release and profit from instead of releasing a handful at best. They could dominate the market by releasing all their old games at reasonable prices and yet they do not. Nintendo''s biggest problem is Nintendo.

I don’t see how people use Bluetooth controllers with these devices hooked up to the TV. Every single handheld emulation device I’ve ever owned that I try to use a Bluetooth controller on, the latency is so bad I just can’t enjoy it. This was a great way to do a review. I really liked these questions. Also thank you for saying this thing can’t emulate above PS1. I keep hearing all of the other reviewers talking about how it runs Dreamcast and N64 just fine and I’m just like no, it really doesn’t. If you have to use frame skip in order to run then it doesn’t run well in my opinion.
What I am finding is that some of these reviewers are using certain N64 and Dreamcast games that would happily run on a potato and passing that of as these devices will run those systems with some fleeting comment about it does not work for all games. This is quite disingenuous as it makes all the other reviewers look bad who do go out of their way to make it known these devices are not the greatest for those systems.
I want them to make an updated RG Arc with a more powerful chipset and a single stick, a smaller PSP or 3DS style stick, so it can flawlessly play Dreamcast and Saturn
The perks of this handheld for me are a 4” screen which is actually not that common. And then the other thing is charging whilst docked due to HDMI out not being the USB-C port. Whereas any of the USB-C port dock options can’t dock and charge simultaneously… my only gripe of the RG556 is that.

For your player1/player 2 controller complaint, when you have the Bluetooth hooked up, can the system itself be used at the same time as a controller? If so, it seems like the intent was to allow local 2 player play without needing 2 controllers. So, maybe a feature, not a bug?
It can be used as one. The issue is, that it's rather bad to use it if you want to hook it up to your TV and sit in the sofa. You will have to pull a long cable on the floor, but having kids, cats or girlfriends, who never fail to trip over it, can be quite problematic. So why not just use the remote controller are player 1?

We need a handheld that can up to ps2 games (ALL of it not some) at 2x resolution that doesn't cost as much as a steam deck that will be perfect. Really was hoping the RG556 was that but that was an epic fail. for that price i rather just go up to a ODIN 2 but cost to much to get one in Canada. Don't like how big the steam deck is so I'm skipping out on that too.
I have RGSP, and you can port Stardew Valley, but without the joysticks, you are missing some essential controls, I also noticed even with Anbernic cardinal snapping meh joysticks they work better than the D pad in the Mario Kart series. Yes, I have Stardew Valley on android, so my phone. I know its one game and port doesn't mod or 1.6? but mouse and sticks for ports is a thing, I am not gong to lay out more money for a Galileo G8 any time soon and the phone and SP is a lot already. My kishi is bad for my phone port and the safety of my expensive phone. So it depends on what game(s) you want to play.

Are there games where you want analog triggers but not analog sticks? I can't think of any... Seemed a bit odd to me to first state the analog sticks should go, followed by the digital triggers being a bad thing. Actually I would think the triggers could probably go away along with the sticks. If you do have analog sticks though, then yeah the triggers should be analog as well. It is a bit weird making this device bulkier by including triggers but then only going halfway on functionality. Cool video though :)
Yeah, I didn't really think the triggers comment through, I was talking off the top of my head. In fact today when recording the podcast I specifically said I'd be fine without the triggers at all.
The firmware continues to hold these devices back. There are custom firmware options but none of them are that good and are missing some critical features. I kept hoping somebody would make a proper one for the 35XX H but it never happened. I'll be skipping this one, that's for sure.

Perfect handheld is a 6 to 7 inch 4:3 screen and it's a flip like a GBA SP and the OS is linux based not Android and only do up to 6th gen

An old guy/gal has and enjoys the 35xx H but their eyes aren't what they used to be and they just wished their almost perfect 35xx H was perfect.
