Another reason: If you're an oly lifter and you just want to be specific to your sport, squat in shoes the same or similar to what you snatch/C&J in. Heels elevated.
I've found heel elevation almost essential in pistol squats. Is this because everything's happening on one leg, i.e. one ankle with its dorsiflexion alone has to handle the load?
I have a question, my squat is still "novice" i can squat like 2 plates for a few reps and i use a 10kg/25lbs plate under the heel to squat with good depth since its a high bar squat and i have a huge femour. My friend told me its cool but once i get to really heavy weights, like 4, 5 plates i wont be able to squat like this anymore because the walkout will be so much harder because i have to walk into the plate and position my feet, is this true or not?
Awesome video. Thanks! 🙏

It just places a greater demand for dorsiflexion

Thoughts on platform/Olympic shoes?
Big fan
What is good depth in your opinion
I think hip crease below your knee is a good rule of thumb for most people
Thoughts on toe elevated rdls?
That's actually an interesting ❓ lol.
I’ve done them before. I like them.
@@racerx2580 got the idea from kneesovertoes guy , thought it would be a nice to compliment to the heel elevated squats
@@whyumad8947 Yep makes sense honestly.
@@willratelle8027 Nice. But should probably be done with volume and light intensity since the hams will be in a very lengthened state?
But are glutes still worked even with elevated heels or is it just quads? 🤔
