This Stark/First Men backstory of thousands of years ago would make an incredibly epic new TV series. From the Children of the Forest and First Men being at war, to them creating the walkers to kill man, and ending with the Starks hiding the child that should have been given to the walkers, essentially the start of ending the treaty and beginning the Stark's incredible story to come a thousand years later to where we are today. There's two entire wars, bloodlines crossing, a peace treaty involving an insane marriage, the wall being built, and breaking of that treaty in the timeline. I mean there's a shit ton of story there that needs to be on screen.

"There must always be a Stark in Winterfell"
Perhaps Stark kings/wardens know something no one else does. A secret passed from ruler to ruler. Ned's father Rickard knew it, and he passed the secret to his heir Brandon. But they both died and no one passed the secret to the next ruler, Ned. Perhaps that is why the WHite Walkers are coming back. Winter didn't come as long as the Starks upheld their part of the deal in whatever agreement they had. But since Ned did not know about this agreement, the WWs came.

There are more videos like it where theories are discussed which are also brilliant. My personal theory is that Jon being born a half-Targaryen violated a sort of ancient treaty between the Others and the First Men, seen almost like violating the Geneva Convention when you build WMDs all of a sudden. Having access to dragons is pretty threatening to them, and it would also make sense if the Mad Queen storyline still takes place: true peace with the Others can only be achieved if they don't feel under threat by dragons, and Daenerys isn't likely to give up her dragons, so the only way may be to sacrifice her and the dragons.

The theory in which Starks and White Walkers made peace is very interesting. It could be that they agreed for peace for 8000 years and now that time has run out they started their invasion once again. Stark words "The winter is coming" could be taken on the day of the peace to remind all Stark descendants that not only is a winter coming-THE winter is coming. It would kind of mean that White Walkers are as honorable as they are fierce keeping their truce for 8000 years.

Also this white walker deal aligns with the common knowledge that "Starks never break their vows", obviously it would have been very strictly taught between generations to make sure no one broke the vows to the night king. I'm surprised that in this video you don't talk about the fact that Jon is the product of Fire (Rhaegar) and Ice (Lyanna). You mention how the two houses are so juxtaposed and how the series is one of internal conflict but fail to wrap that all up in the perfect bow that is Jon. No doubt, I hope we can see an ending that doesn't rush to end itself as fast as the show seems to be so we can see these internal struggles played out to the max.

He was in love with Ygritte, who was always defined by her red hair and fiery temperament, then had an arc where he was deeply connected with Melisandre. Now he's in love with Danny. I feel like that might be in part because Jon has openly attested to not liking "lady-like" women, mainly due to Catelyn's treatment of him and some sort of low-key sexism on his part. That's why I feel like him and Dany aren't going to end well. Ygritte & Melissandre had what you could consider bad endings in relation to Jon. They were both strong, independent women, and so was Dany; I figure that because he is competition to her sitting on the IT, and their conflicting goals, she will drop him out of irrational fear that he will "take what is hers". She still has the three treasons, if you remember, and she is just as paranoid about them as Cersei was. Who better to represent one of them than Jon, a possible love interest? It would be a good twist and squash any hope of a happy ending for the series, considering how most fans have waited for them to be together and seeing them become incompatible would be a GRRM esque thing to do.

Špagin his brother’s name was Brandon Stark (Brandon the Breaker). If he were a legitimate Stark, why would other houses claim that he was one of theirs? But if he were a Snow, then there might well have been some confusion even at the time about his real identity. Here’s the thing: damnatio memoriae is actually a really hard thing to do. While the Starks would have been able to control what the other houses South of the Wall remembered: they would not have been able to control what the wildlings remembered. It’s totally plausible that the wildlings would remember the Night’s King’s real name and origin when no one else did. When Old Nan says he was a Stark, she might very well mean that he was a son of King Stark: not that he was necessarily legitimate. Also: if you are a sovereign King in a harsh land you would not let your legitimate brother take a vow to never have children. Just on the off chance someone kills off all of yours. But your bastard brother would probably choose the Wall. So yes actually: this is a totally plausible theory.

  • @DarrenLeung

Both Ice and Fire (Stark/Targaryen) lines have strayed from what they once were. The Night King is actually Dany's equivalent, a long lost Stark taking back his rightful place in the North. That is why he comes for Brandon and not Jon. After taking vengeance on Brandon, the Night King will raise the dead in the crypt and once again rule the North. But he doesn't know Jon is the only embodiment of both houses, making him more powerful than either house line alone, since he can command dragons... Probably even the zombie dragon... To finally put the Night King down for good.

There was so much cool lore and great backdrop for a great ending that could have also gone on for maybe a couple more seasons. Though while more seasons is kinda unrealistic they could have just given us an epic battle that really brought everything together and that was also at least really entertaining instead of poor visuals and an ending that made little sense. @@h.palternativeproduction3514 Not only that. The whole Bran story line is now just about the "who were Jon's parents" mystery.
I thought his ark would have something to do with the white walkers and how to defeat them. And he had a vision about the NK's creation and his mark was somewhat important to the plot. But other than that, he didn't really reveal a lot on how to defeat the WW, nor did he give a backstory, or even get involved in the fight. He just flew some ravens around, got a bunch of people killed by being placed in the middle of Winterfell, making the army of the dead kill everyone in their way. And in the end he had to be saved by his sister, who was luckily trained by some assassins. Bran of course had nothing to do with Arya going to Bravos, or coming back, but without her, they would apparently be toast, since Bran had no plan to actually defeat the NK.
Oh and remember when he traveled back in time and changed the past? He just decided to not use that really powerful ability. Why? Maybe the show will tell us why, but I really doubt it.

Yeah like he did with hodor!
Song of ice and fire past is so cool and interesting, I don’t understand why they didn’t expand upon that if being cool is all what theyre about...
But instead we got bad, out of touch nonsense of an ending to the night king.
The night king wasn’t the first white walker!
      What the hack?!
Here’s another ideas they didn’t expand upon just because they are uncrative:
Someone going to ashy, neuron actually being terrifying, water dragon..
And if it’s too reticules then can you guys stick to the chest realistic style storytelling we all loved?!
