I downloaded a mod that populates each star system with a ton of ship and orbital star base missions, good variety and another that populates the surface of planets with like 5-15 landable POI.. it totally changes the game… you can be in a system for an hour or two totally caught up in missions without needing to quantum for more content, makes the verse feel so big.
Health scales endlessly with level, so eventually you just have so much that you never die and the game becomes trivial. Damage values don't even require much effort to get out of control because the combat traits and weapon mods massively outscale max level enemies. You can make a low level character focused on key combat skills that will absolutely annihilate anything the game throws at you. Starfield needs a new gamemode with overhauled rules. Similar to how damage values were changed in FO4 Survival Mode, but more comprehensive. I want to see improved enemy AI and things like that on a true hard-core mode.
With proper skills and gear, it may seem too easy. However, let me make a few point that make your analysis a little incomplete: 1) Majority human enemies that use high powered weapons actually use full auto variants, meaning their damage much lower, even for critical shots. 2) As already someone else mentioned here, the tactics of picking one target after another also improves survivability. Going against a group of enemies presents more dangers. 3) Environmental damage is not being taken into account. Fighting with full health in safe areas is one thing. Fighting outside while also taking environmental damage, not to mention starting the fight after exploring and taking env damage also presents a challenge. 3) Basically point 1 2 and 3 all combine together when fighting against packs of aliens. Being outside means constantly taking environmental damage. Packs of aliens tend to attack as a group all at once. Since aliens do not use automatic weapons, their attacks can deal quite a damage, even 30-40% of character's hp. Especially when doing criticals. 4) Being a god on surface is quite different story than being a space god. 5) Try melee build for a challenge. Is it that wrong to become a bad ass god? 🙂
One more thing, let us consider this period as opportunity to develop skills before the DLC arrives. it might prove much harder than the game we have now. (or it might not, we'll see)
Put on armour with mirrored, reactive and repulsing perks and watch the enemies kill themselves while trying to shoot you. Add reactive shield and you are (almost) immortal.
I guess if you want a god like character you can have one. I do and she can be a lot of fun. I Like to make new characters so I'm always rerolling to try different ways of playing the game.
On Xbox and just my observations right now. I run 1 character at 277 now and on NG16. I just do not have the interest to start a new character with the game. Yes everything even on extreme is fairly easy and I rarely die. The biggest issue I see is that there is no power cap on the player which I found odd. I believe the NPCs are capped with the highest at 94. I just assumed at some point player power would be capped at around 20 below or above the NPCs but Bethesda does not have a player power cap. It seems something they could fix by capping the power and continuing to level but just one more thing they forgot about.
When I'm outnumbered is the only time I feel a little pressured, there's a setting for 'crowd density', if they would include enemies, things would be more interesting. Increasing or decreasing the damages does not help when you can still pick them off one by one from a mile away, if you were flanked by enemy or they came out to greet you and had you running for cover, that would be fun.
level 169 now and enjoying my status. I am still outfitting like 20 outposts and haven't even started building my dream ship yet. So, I like where I am at now. I have a couple of weapons that I still need to find, and I could upgrade my armor a bit, but I never die so it would just be more than I need. I am on extreme everything (except the afflictions) and only fly in a big fat ship with just two weapons, but I have no problems with a fleet of guardians. I would rather have more difficult quests than move on and basically start over. I have been doing the new Tracker quests, but again they become routine very quickly. I am wondering if I should go to New Game...or just find a new game.
Ok I have not gone full extreme, just the first two (enemy ones) and at lvl 70 with moderate armor and a nice Hard Target I am not having any trouble in lvl 75 systems. I can die but mostly it is pretty easy to knock them over if your careful. I am already thinking of starting another character (to add to the 10 I have lvs 70 to 100) as it gets a bit boring and most of the excitement for me is generated in the earlier levels. Building starships or upgrading ones I have "acquired" does make the higher levels a bit more attractive. Perhaps another level past Extreme?
Yeah I've been saying it from the start, extreme is too easy for high lvl characters. I stopped playing SF about a month after it came out bc it was WAY too easy and not fun anymore, I had a lvl 55 character, I came back when they added extreme and that was fun for about five lvls until it got boring again bc it became too easy, I had to go Ng+ to make it fun again Game needs mig bosses like mechs that are 30-50% harder than lvl 98 bosses
Hell at lv 139 I can kill like that with a Beowulf, but sometimes it's like the fight of my life, I can't find out why the game is like that, it seems too easy and them holy crap. I think it will always be fun.
Okay so there is a mod meant to reduce the bullet sponginess by modifying enemy health by level. It’s just a batch file text that you can edit. You could crank that sucker up instead of down and make even lvl 25 really hard to kill. There must also be a variable meant to change aggression when they rush you. I know for some animals they swarm you up close. That could be applied to enemies
It becomes to easy after lvl 70 if you invested your perks correctly. Over lvl 150 it is just stupid easy. I think the NPC's should scale with the player after a certain lvl, maybe keep them capped until lvl 30-40 but after that they scale to stay higher than the player. That would keep it interesting. Just my 2 cents worth.
The game needs big bosses like mechs that are 30% harder than lvl 98 bosses. Also they should make a harder difficulty than extreme, if anyone doesn't want the challenge they can put the difficulty down. Sometimes I have to go ng plus so then it is a challenge again, pretty dissapointing
There is a 2 hour window where you're level 8 and only have a white Beowulf where this game is actually difficult, but once you get that first point into Isolation the game is easy as.
Wow im no where near that but well they obviously planned for people getting that far but I don’t think they’ve really thought that through cos seems like all those hours spent to arrive at a dead end
If you played with lvl equal weapons that they give you during storyline, then you wouldn’t be so OP. Try running through lvl 75 planets with the Epic Space Adept Extended Mag UC cutlass. That’s hard.
Dunno how the heck this came up with a UC bounty LOL - there was none when I packed it up! ETA: This char has only been thru the unity like 7 times tops.
@@deanpogaming the mod armor has a glitch where it won't spawn sometimes. I had it happen so I downloaded a mod that spawns 2 more suits in the conference room.
Disgusting. Why are you using armor at level 245?? I'm at level 232. No armor. No helmet. No boost pack. Extreme all around. Level 75 systems. I don't use my powers. Archimedes V-A. Bohr II. Fermi III. Some others where suits are not needed. Try that. See if that works for you for a challenge. If you can do it, I'll throw you some likes. LOL!!! 🤪🤪
@@deanpogaming Yes. Many might cry "Madness"!!! But to a few, it's just feels like home. Footnote: Just got rekt on Bohr II by Va'ruun because I made a mistake. Lost an hour of progress. Pushed too hard. With no kit, that's lethal. Even at 232. Oh well. Que, Sera, Sera. Comes with the territory.
Why do care so much it’s single player it would be different if it was multiplayer I watched your videos but all you want to do complain about how easy it is try it on Xbox with controller instead of mouse and keyboard . I play both Xbox is harder
So going by that logic the game should only accommodate some players and not all? I played competitive Halo on a controller, I get your point but the game being more difficult doesn't impact players that want to play on easier difficulties. You can always drop down the difficulty so why shouldn't you be able to scale it up more than it already is?
I play on controller with aim assist off on extreme and I think it's too easy, I have to go to NG plus when I dont want to to get a challenge again, that's dissapointin
Combat doesn’t feel too different, but with the afflictions I was definitely having a hard time.
They really changed my skill distribution. I'm fully stacked in health, resistance, regen, and I take clothing for the climate/environment.
@@GaryMalcolm I’m working on trying to get everything up to speed there too. I hadn’t touched any of the skills that help with resistances before 😂
Seem like you can't heal from anything when it's on extreme
Don't use vendors. Mine and build all your stuff. Go full extreme.

It is normal for BGS games. My Skyrim character is like level 50 and simply melts the enemies.
Yeah they should ad a harder difficulty to Skyrim, and all their games, some people want a challenge and not a power fabtacy
