- On the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings we see SR Battle of Britain Class Locomotive 34067 Tangmere which was named after a military airfield down south charging along the Settle Carlisle line with todays Dalesman railtour from York to Carlisle and return, seen from Arcow Quarry with ten on and 47746 on the rear, thanks for watching
Bravo Nige!! Your "shooting" & locations just get better & better!! 👏. Just love that off-beat rhythm of the Bulleid light Pacific. So nostalgic. Brilliant.
Thanks Rare Rufus for your lovely comments always appreciated, cheers 👍
Very nice captures of Tangmere on a better day Nige, great views from Helwith witha bit of shelter from that wind today, cheers Steve . 👍🌝
Thanks Steve, much better light but still the strong wind to contend with, cheers 👍
Nicely put together Nige, some lovely afternoon light there!
Simon
Thanks Simon, yes that was a nice bonus and at the time of day, cheers nige👍
Spot on Nige , strange sounds from Tangmere but still a great sight 👍Nice touch with the V array lamps 👍🇬🇧
Yes, it is fairly well known that Bulleid valve gear goes out of kilter if pulled up too close to mid-gear. Dropping the lever forward another 10-15% would almost certainly have had the engine purring smoothly again. The off-beat exhaust is very apparent not only in sound but also by observing the chimney, where the smoke is up and down like a yo-yo. Good film though.
Thanks Steve, certainly thumping along with assistance and very appropriate for the day, cheers 👍
@@user-cw9qn1nb2nThanks Derek and thanks for the running info, cheers 👍
Nicely put together and a good vantage point at the quarry.👍
Thanks David, I would have gone higher up but for the strong wind and the noise from the quarry, cheers 👍
Excellent coverage and nice panorama views of the Bulleid .Thanks Nige Brian👍
Thanks Brian much appreciated, and much improved weather conditions, cheers nige👍
Hi Nige sorry to bother you but do you know what is on the train from Hellifield tomorrow Tuesday? Brian
@@thirdengineer Hi Brian, from what I've heard its Tangmere again.
@@nige7577 Thanks Nige I suspected as such as the photo on Rail advent changed from a black 5 to a spam can but will go out anyway. Cheers Brian
@@thirdengineer Ok 👍
Rattling along nicely there Nige, good filming and decent weather for a change
Thanks Austin, yes a lovely day and she was certainly shifting along with some assistance from the rear, cheers 👍

Thanks John, yes it was a rather hot one and good to see it was an appropriate loco for this occasion, regards nige 👍
Nice film as usual Nige - keep them coming
Thanks Stewart will do, cheers 👍
Nice video Nige of Tangmere rattling along. We did not bother going out today as weather forecast was not that great and very similar to yesterday and Sir Nigel is definitely a far better sight to see.
Thanks Alistair, it was red hot at Helwith Bridge so just as well there was a strong wind and only saw some rain on the way home, Tangmere being an appropriate loco for the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, cheers 👍
Nice one Nige.
Thanks Alan, and it was the appropriate loco for the day, cheers 👍

Nice video Nige
Thanks for watching Josh, glad you liked it, cheers 👍
Superb editing on this one although the loco is sounding a bit rough with maybe the chain driven valve timing needing attention?👍
Thanks Stephen, yes certainly sounding different and being assisted but the right loco for the occasion, cheers 👍
Looks like Tangmere as Rail Advent have put the name in Nige.Think I will leave it till Sat and maybe try Whalley Arches. See BIL is coming home to roost today. Cheers Brian
Ok, not sure where to go yet but will go anyway and see what the weathers like and work if from there, cheers nige
Absolutely well done nige well done with the camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on CZcams also do you know who was on the footplate of Tangmere today. Best wishes Philip xx
Thanks Philip much appreciated as always, not sure what will be the next upload yet and sorry couldn’t tell you who was on the footplate, cheers 👍
Her beat sounds distinctly 'off'. Perhaps she is due a timing check?
Thanks for watching and yes you may be right, cheers 👍
That exhaust doesn't sound right ?
Nice angles !
Thanks Nigel, yes did sound different, cheers 👍
@@nige7577 Perhaps it's that chain driven valve gear wandering off ? 🤣
Nice sequence Nigel. 47746 was doing its fair share of the work.
Thanks Idris, yes the usual assistance from the rear, cheers 👍
