We stayed at the Strat a few times and always enjoyed it. The rooms were nice…once we were by the sky jump, quite a shock when I opened the curtains and a person went hurtling by! I too would recommend it and look forward to seeing the renovations. Pro tip: You can access the deck and visit level 107 lounge for free and skip the paying line to visit the deck.
It's a shame this property never is/was successful as it should be. The tower is such an icon in the skyline as much as the Space Needle is to Seattle or The Calgary Tower is to well... Calgary...
I think it’s too far down the street for most people even though it’s not far from downtown and arts District so theres stuff to do around it that’s not far I think it’s just the distance from Mid strip and the surrounding area that make ppl sleep on this property it’s a lot nicer then people give credit for and I think it’s a great property for couples
You just have to remember that nostalgia is a feeling that's hard on the heart in vegas....
Stayed there the week that pool deck opened. Our room was the last on the right under the exit sign. Lots of bbq smoke on that floor
We stayed there for our 25th anniversary and they were very nice, upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge and were very happy for us

Tanya and Dave, it's good to see your take on the Strat. Not my choice for a Vegas getaway but can see the upgrades and appreciate your critique and pointing out safety issues in the area.❤❤❤❤

I moved/retired from Boston to the Scottsdale AZ area eight years ago and planned to visit Las Vegas sooner, but due to illness, surgeries, and Covid, wasn't able to get there until a few weeks ago. I learned so much from you and a few others on CZcams, and it really helped maximize my time there. Thank you again!
Our first time in Vegas was together, a Priceline weekend getaway at the strat. Never stayed there again but I'll always be fond of it

Phew! For a moment I thought you weren't going to do the Bed Test. Tanya, you didn't let me down. Your little dance had me chuckling once again😂 The New Strat was much better than I anticipated. I stayed at the Strat a few years ago when I started my frequent Vegas get aways. Just like you mentioned it’s not an area to walk around outside the resort but inside was cool. It was really affordable and just needed somewhere to sleep so we can party.
Good vid. I stayed at the Strat-oshpere in 2019 and didn't have any complaints, comfortable bed and a clean room.
The Jump is a controlled steel cable jump with a max speed of 40 MPH. I did it twice when I stayed there and recommend the night jump as it more fun. I would do it again if I ever get back to Vegas.

Have never stayed at the Strat. Visited once back in the 1990's after it opened and went up to the top of the tower (they didn't have the rides yet, I think). The views were amazing!

they are all charging parking now...we used the BF veteran status to park free at MGM & Caesars properties.

I’ve stayed at The Strat many times. I’ve done Sky jump and all the other rides. The refurb of the pool looks good, the casino Remix bar has live music at the weekends too. The last time I stayed though the check in process was terrible, I stood in line for over an hour it was just so slow, the staff seemed to have to go off and speak to supervisors for everyone they were checking in. The other problem I encountered was that I had booked directly with the hotel and the price of the room included all taxes yet they were still trying to charge another $120 extra for no reason, also I booked a late check out for $25 was then told it was $50 due to the hotel being busy. Overall The Strat is a nice hotel but have decided to stay somewhere else when I go to Las Vegas in September because of check in lines and what feels is dishonest pricing.

Thanks for the review ! The check in line and lines at the elevators are all I needed to see, no way I am going there, I don't go to Vegas to stand in lines. The Strat is so far on the end of the Strip it's a lot of walking, taxis or Uber's to get to mid strip where the action is. It is a 10 minute walk from the Strat to the Monorail station at Sahara, but its a sketchy area you don't want to be walking at night. They prices are reasonable but they need to be a lot lower to compensate for being in such an out of the way location so far from the rest of the Strip.
Don't go during the weekend and check in at noon to avoid the lines at check in.
The ride where it looks like your going off the top of the building is a Hell NO 😱

Watching the view down strip, I realized something about the north strip and how it fits together. It represents the Future. The south strip references the Past with explicit concepts like Egypt, medieval England, ancient civilizations, while the north end of the strip has abstract curves of Resorts World red, complimented by Founteanbleu blue and abstract form of the MSG sphere, and of course space themed Strat.
I stayed there in 2017 and I remember going to the pool at night, but there was nobody there except me and one or two other people. I love your videos. I won’t go to Vegas again until I watch them all. 🙏🏻🥰💕
At night? guess the pool used to be open during evening hours. nowadays it's closed at 6pm
@@chuckh4077 I think it closed at eight or nine the time I was there. I know I got there about half an hour before it closed so I didn’t stay long but it was really weird up there anyway. I’m terrified of heights, but I went all the way up to the top level. I was just about to chicken out, and some lady in the elevator yelled at me and said, “get in here with the rest of us, if we have to do it, you do too.” So I went, lol. I was glad I did, but I would never do a bungee jump or that ride that goes off the edge of the top of the building. 😉

@@TurnItUpWorldI was the same. As young kid a few decades ago. that ride on the needle taught me that some smart people made a thrilling experience safe for hundreds before me. I roll the dice for my safety with worse odds when just driving to it, I just turned my doubt off and went into auto pilot.
I came back to, facing reality at the top, and then felt scared as hell but a little proud. I took thst pride to other problems in life that scared me, but others before me had done it.

We haven't stayed at the Strat, but we did stay at the nearby Sahara and loved it. We used the tram to get around, which has a stop right at the Sahara. It was niiice!

I stayed there a few years back. The smell of weed in the hotel corridors was horrible. I also remember being in the casino when a pickup drove straight through the glass entrance doors, gave me and everyone there a good jump scare.

In Vegas for first time right now and went to Strat Top of the World last night for dinner. I will say the Strat is somewhat in an interesting spot. To far from main part of new Vegas and same for old Vegas. And as others have said the neighborhood is somewhat sketchy especially if you are walking. Walked from monorail at Sahara to Strat and back.
watch where you walk on the sidewalk to Sahara. sidewalks are not in good shape. tripped over cracks a few times.
I was there last Oct. and the room was horrible. The vinyl floor was all lifted up and smelled like mildew. I have COPD and ended up at the ER. Because it was so bad. BTW this was supposedly an upgraded room that we paid extra for. It looked nothing like the room you were in.

@@TurnItUpWorld The one good thing about the trip was getting to do the super hero zip line on Fremont. Been wanting to do that for years. and had a blast! Made the whole trip worth it.
Worst hotel ever.
They put me through hell a month ago. Got to the room and the bathroom was dirty with piss stans all over the toilet.
Took them an hr to send someone. Then when they get there to clean it the whole toilet came up from the floor (Tf) So then they switch my room and it was smaller than the one I was in smh. They not picking up the phones so they want you to come down and stand bk in line if you have a complaint, I'm good never again.
I though it all looked pretty nice, except for the parking fee. Great video tour.
When I first came to Vegas in 2020 I stayed in the remodeled room and did the sky jump that day. I had no one with me and got a cool pic but that was about it. All I remember is telling myself “just do it” the hardest part is everything leading to the jump. The jumpsuit you have to wear is not very comfortable for men if you get what I’m saying but overall a cool experience and I’d do it again if it wasn’t $100

I did the SkyJump a few years ago, twice (a few months apart). The first time during the day, the second time at night .... making it almost feel like I was floating in space. Great view from the top. Thrilling and awesome experience ... for someone who was afraid of heights.
That is awesome that you built up the courage to do that jump. Good for you. We're still working on that inner courage. One of these days we will. 😂
@@TurnItUpWorld ...it took me 6 months to build up the courage... and I chickened out the night I wanted to do the Jump. I was disappointed with myself, so I went back the next day at noon determined to try it. On my next trip, I did it again but at night.
I hope everyone who goes to Vegas checks the bed for bedbugs. There is a mass break out even at the high end hotels !!
I walked by once back when it was Bob Stupak’s Vegas World. Never been in it.
Around the time it was being built, i knew a girl who was a Vegas Native and i heard far too many horror stories about the construction such as Stupak lowballed everything, from an architect who had never designed a skyscraper let aline a tower, used the cheapest materials, there was a big fire in the tower while it was being built and, because of that, one of the legs is under-strength compared to the others. Stupak ended up having to bring in other investors and was either bought out entirely before or just after it opened.
Stupak himself was a piece of work. He convinced his daughter to run for mayor. When asked why she was running, she answered, and i quote, “Daddy promised me a trip to Paris if I won.” Since Paris Las Vegas wasn’t open yet, i assume she meant Paris France. Knowing Stupak, though, it would probably have been Paris, Ohio.
So, yeah, never been yo the Strat, never wanted to go to the Strat.

I’m surprised if they renovated the rooms they didn’t put in better beds. For the price even with the parking this is a good deal. A lot of high end hotels in big cities charge guests huge amounts for parking.
We felt the same about the beds. Thanks for watching. Yes, even though they charge for parking it would be nice if they didn't with such high resort fees per night.
We stopped in last yr (2022) we thought the casino floor was pretty nice & clean. Yep the area is not the best, and we did walk around. But it was daylight and since I was with the BF, I felt fine. Wonder if they offer military/veteran discounts for parking like MGM & Caesars?

To be honest I loved my stay there last year before the remodeling as a first time stay in Vegas I'd say it was worth the money for the stay
Been to the Top of the World several times..besides being fun, the food was excellent and the view of the strip was fantastic. We also hit the legends show there twice I think...each time was wonderful...definitely got our money worth. Never did the rides but boy a lot of people did. Never stayed there...always too far down on the strip. Interesting to see it's still kind of secondary because the place was pleasant in its own right
Gosh just to think....back in the early 90's my boyfriend at the time wanted to stay and play cards. I was freezing cold (had a skimpy dress on and heels) I ended up WALKING back to the Mirage at 1:00 am and I didn't realize how much danger I was in. There were some VERY shady area's enroute and pimp looking guys cat calling as I walked by them. My feet were so sore I took off my heels and I had nylons on. Yes....back then ya dressed for even gambling. I look back on that time and think how my guardian angels were definately with me. Thanks for the tour guys.

I have to say that I think it was far more dangerous in the early 90's because there weren't as many hotels...there was boards where hotels were going but that is where the shady guys were all lined up and I had to walk past them. Then there would be an empty area very dark looked like an alley and I had to walk past a few of them. Not many people walking at that end of the strip either. I was scared, walked fast and couldn't wait to get to the more populated area. Seemed like it took forever. I just watched the "worst hotel" segment and I must recommend that you guys bring a hand held black light with you to check bedding at ALL hotels. That would be interesting to see.
If you like pot roast, try that at Strat Café. So tender and delicious! Good bang for you buck with a F&B credit too!!
It's the only Las Vegas Casino I know of that has "Ladies" waiting in the parking lot to help you take your luggage to your room! Don't go out the front of the casino at night unless you are looking for a "DATE".

We love Fremont Street, especially during the NFR Finals. We tend to stay at the Golden Nugget, if you could give us some breakfast, lunch and dinner options during this time, we would love to check them out..

I stayed in a Blvd King Suite last night (11-16-23) - rm 10-046. Great location in the hotel - close to the bar, sportsbook, and gift shops. The room came with a fridge (large chunk of melting ice inside - did not use) a coffee pot and four coffee pods with powdered creamer and sugar), the iron was hooked to the ironing board in the closet, with a safe, and no hair dryer in the bathroom. My room faced the tower, and I could not see any of the Strip.
A roman tub in the bathroom (which was dirty and dusty) and there was a stand up shower with built in bench, more than enough shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotions than one person could possibly use, and towels for days. The bed was comfortable, but the leather headboard had been written on with black marker and was hidden by the four super fluffy pillows, and the top of the headboard was very dusty. The couch was old and worn, and not comfortable to sit on. The USB plug on one side of the bed (where the phone was located) didn't work, the other side did, so there was only 2 USB ports available in the room.
In the living room, there were no outlets (one was hidden behind the heavy couch), except for the two plugs in a lamp on the cabinet that surrounded the fridge (also 1 of the 2 working USB ports). The red chairs had seen better days, and there was something black and sticky on the seat of one of them. The marble floor in the bathroom looked like it hadn't been mopped in a few stays, and the carpet was musty and old. There is no smoking in any of the rooms. There was ketchup (I hope) splattered on the wall by the desk, which housed the coffee pot and had a decent office chair to sit on, though it was showing its age pretty well.
There were two thermostats in the room, which kept the room a very comfy 70 degrees. There are few channels on the tv, but, they do offer CZcams, Pandora and Netflix, so make sure you have your passwords handy if you want to use them. There is a section on the tv for ordering room service, but it was "Temporarily Unavailable", and the number on the phone to dial Room Service, rang busy, so no room service. The dining table and four chairs are in the bedroom section, and to me, that was strange. I would have preferred it to be in the living room portion, would have made more sense. There was no pen or paper, or bible, so bring your own, and the only magazine was a current one - Las Vegas, F1 edition.
I arrived at the hotel at 9:30, and even though check in wasn't until 3 pm, I was able to leave my bag at the bell desk and have it delivered to my room once I was allowed in, at 2pm. I was not charged for early check in. In the beginning of your video, you mentioned the long check-in - there is a self check in, which I used, and it was all of 2 minutes wait... Don't go to the main check in - all you need is your drivers license or passport, you scan it, it prints your keys, and you are done, and if you need help, there is an attendant there, the entire time, to help you.
I paid to go to the observation deck - 10 am is when it opened, and there was no wait. Take quarters for the outside portion of the observation deck so you can use the view finders. I recommend going during the day and at night, and the pass you buy is good for all day, so go twice if you can. The pool was closed.
McDonald's was dirty, food was nasty and super greasy, and there were gnats flying around. I don't recommend eating there. Everyone was super polite and friendly, however, there are very pushy people (at two different places) who will try their hardest to sell you a timeshare. Keep walking and ignore them. Nothing is FREE in VEGAS.

Always stay at the Strat , have stayed at many places in Vegas and its the nicest for the price , i also like how its kinda in the middle distance form the Main part of the Strip and DT as i like to go to both parts ...I find the slots are looser there as well , made 20 last over 4 hours on keno there where other places i was lucky to make a 20 last 5 mins ...
The food at the diner is good too , big portions for fair price ..
i jumped from the strat tower in 2011 after the jump i couldn't walk for a few minutes because my legs were shaking because i was full of adrenaline :-)
2012 stayed there and got a tattoo there as well. Never jumped there but did a 175ft bungee jump in Thailand. :)
Wow, 175 foot bungee jump, that must have been amazing! It was funny sitting in the restaurant and seeing people bungeeing off!
@TurnItUpWorld yes it was, use to be afraid of heights but that and the two more cured that, lol. Funny thing is I worked as aircrew in the Navy, being 3 miles up in the air didn't bother me.
I jumped. It was absolutely terrifying! But I want to do it again 🙃

I wasn't very impressed the last time I passed through the Strat. Glad to see they are attempting to upgrade. But charging for parking even if your a guest? That's a bit too much for me.

Why do all that renovation and stop the fun at 6-7pm? I like doing one night stays in Vegas so I wouldn't even get to enjoy the pool with the kids if I stayed here.
ikr. why close the pool so early? Not everyone can swim during the day. I get cooked even with sunscreen if i swim during the day with the sun shinning. I love night swimming because i don't have to worry about sunburn.
