    I have student loan debt but I have to defend going straight to college. My hometown is less than 5,000 people. Most people occupying entry-level jobs aren't planning on leaving anytime soon. There are only a handful of places to work. The nearest metropolitan areas are hours away. For poor families going straight off to college is the only feasible way to get to a bigger city with more job opportunities. I think Graham and Caleb should broaden their focus to low-income individuals living in rural areas. Because those situations are hard to get out of without an education, family savings, credit history, health insurance, connections to business owners, etc. When I went for a job at McDonald's in high school they didn't hire me because my sister was fired from there. And simply no open positions anywhere else. Even if I wanted to go straight into working I would have had to move and with no money, a college situation was the only option because my grandmother would've just gotten poorer trying to provide for a grown man. These are the challenges with not going to college and staying at home with parents. Some families simply can't sustain it.

      If you have an internet connection, you have access to alot of opportunities to make money and learn. Student loans are bad if you take out an extreme amount you have no hope of paying back through your degree, but if you feel like its your only option, then you better get a STEM degree.

    • @saast123
      @saast123 Před rokem +1

      @@LeesaLilHop I agree. My degree is from an online program. But internet is not for free. Generally scholarships and grants should subsidize borrowing which is why you have need-based and diversity programs. However rhe cost of all mainstream forms of education are increasing.

I ended up helping him find a fulltime job, and now they run the foodtruck just weekends and only profitable events they know make the most - its just not worth it though..his family only pays him out $200 an event...and event can be 8-9 hours / on top of prep time making the food, shopping, etc...at the end of an average event your getting paid out less than minimum wage. I'm trying to convince him to get another part time job, just do overtime at work, or literally just do anything else.

    I found a site that says that although the average food truck makes $400,000 annual revenue, by the time all the expenses are paid, the owner pays himself only $50,000 per year. Is that a good business to start? Actually I DID do this sort of thing. I cooked breakfast burritos each morning and sold them at work. It was a great business, I ran it well, customers were happy, they paid, I made a great profit, but I had to do it every day, no exceptions, and that meant waking up at 3:30 am. So this sort of business could enslave you. Real estate is a much more passive way to make money.

    So Stephan. Here's how it works. As a student pilot myself, this is how I understand it. The captain & the crew (that consists of the First officer, Flight Attendants, and the Air Martial) don't get paid until the doors are closed. Once the doors are closed, the hourly rate for the captain and first officer start getting paid. Then once the plane enters the runway for take-off, that's when the Flight Attendants, and the Air Martial start getting paid. Once the plane lands and exits the runway via the destination, that's when the flight attendants and air martial stop getting paid. And once the doors open again, that's when the captain and first officer start getting paid. That's what I understood when my flight school explained it to me. Other ATPL pilots and crew, please chime in and feel free to correct me.

    So pilots and flight attendants are paid an hourly rate per flight hour…. So when the parking brake is released at the gate, the clock starts. When the parking brake is set at the destination the clock stops. But flight crews are guaranteed a certain amount a pay per month generally around 75 hours regardless of how much they fly due to cancellations. So for easy math take the hourly rate and multiply by 75ish to get a monthly estimate on pay.

My sister who lived with us had two children before I graduated high school with no support from the fathers. Definitely no room for a growing man in the house with no job prospects.     I'm so happy I made productive decisions about my finances that changed my life forever. I'm a single mother living in Melbourne Australia, bought my second house in February hoping to retire next year at 42 if things keep going smoothly for me;

      The crypto market is highly profitable with an expert broker just like Michael Marcus . I got recommended to him and since then my financial life has been a success.

    how is it legal to not pay flight attendents for working just because the airplane door isnt shut or in the air? Seems like a "women get paid less" falsehood. They probably get a salary for being on 24/7 demand.

      Delta is finally paying for boarding. The airline has some clause in the contract that allows for this.. it's really annoying
      When the door is closed and the parking break is lifted starts the pay full pay clock
