As far north as we can go - Vancouver Island Van Life // S21E12

Leaving Woss Lake and heading north, we check out the coast in Port Hardy, British Columbia where spend another day in our minivan camper conversion. After seeing the sights and finding a WIFI connection to upload our latest video, we head back south, stop for dinner and stealth camp in a small urban town ready for an adventurous following day.

Funny thing. Right before watching this video I cooked fried potatoes with pre-cooked bacon chopped up and onions and then I had some grape tomatoes to use up and then I fried some eggs. And like you said, potatoes are good for the next day, so I cooked twice as much so I don’t have to cook tomorrow morning except for my eggs.

Hey guys, congratulation on your trip. Seems like you guys had a lot of fun.
Question, I want to give up on everything and just drive, and the island seems like a nice place where you can spend some time, like a couple months. Are places where you can park and sleep in the car, like I will be in a very tight budget, maybe just for gas, not even the food, so I am thinking if I can sneak and avoid paying camping fees.

It's a little bit mixed on the island but you can definitely find some fun places to camp without getting hassled. The forestry roads are definitely a great place for that, and most vehicles can probably travel them fine as long as they go slow.

Do those huge tents matter much to the Van? Like I know nothing about them and really any one that I find would work out you have learned that there's certain designs that's better suited for the vans shape? Also I'm figuring the rack can hold that kind of weight?

Yeah, they vary...this one isn't as good for wind as others but it doesn't affect the fuel mileage really at all. And this rack is very strong, it can hold several hundred pounds.
