  • In this video, we will be building 2 versions of mp3 player, one with microcontroller and one without. This would be a great weekend project which you can build with a couple of minutes to spare.

    Segment 5 is the fifth file saved to the sd card. Not necessarily the order you see it on the card if sorted by name or whatnot, but the 5th file you saved to the card. Segments in this system are great for soundboards or messages at say your doorbell or a phone system. You can play sound files or messages depending on what input a person might enter. Think hit 5 for a list of our options kind of stuff.

    I see this is an older video, but i hope you will still participate in dialogue. Thinking you have broad experience I am asking for advice. In my model train I need a Chuff Sound function. The Chuff is a Steam engine exhaust sound that expels spent Steam Pressure gas in the exhaust stroke of the steam engine. The exhaust in slow speed has a distinct sound and lengthy decay of noise. The Steam engine exhausts this steam 4 times for every rotation of the drive wheel. The steam piston is a double acting mechanism such that it has two strokes per piston for each single revolution. All Steam engine are balanced with two Pistons set at 90 degrees apart for smooth operation. Hence the the 4 chuffs per rev. The sound Board need to allow the storage of the complete Chuff Sound for the slow operation. But as the engines speed increases the long decay is over riden but the next loud exhaust chuff. So the Chuff peak sound will begin to repeat faster and faster as the engine speed increases. I need a Sound board that can react to an input trigger (usually a switch or button) which will restart the loud chuff noise instantly upon each trigger pulse. I have yet to find a device that is fast enough to maintain a realistic scream at high speed then revert slowly to the long draw out Chuff sound at the lowest speed. DO YOU know of any such device that can work on a single sound file and play it is the manner required????

    This is a very decent and cool diy gadget. Thankyou for this great video. I want to built it for my own. One thing I want to know that in this player fast forward and backward options are availabe or not. Also resume playback after power is on. If not then can it be possible to manipulating arduino code for getting these features.. Please help me.
    Thankyou a lot.

    how come its cost effective project the DF player cost 154RS but what about the SD card price with out SD card you cannot play audio in this module can you make use of EEPROM or any other memory IC to store audio file and play through Arduino command can you make a video on this topic

    • @Neutrino1
      @Neutrino1  Před 3 lety

      EEPROM are not suitable for frequent read/write and Flash memory of similar size would cost 10X more than the SD card. Finally playing a clear audio in Arduino wouldn't be possible because it doesn't have enough power to run audio (Maybe just 8bit audio with piezo like retro device).
