Punjab is vast with rich culture. How sad Punjabi movies glorify and exaggerate the most vulgar and ugliest aspect of Punjabi culture. Even if we say it is only fiction, the fact remains that Punjabi films are still vulgar and dirty in which women are demeaned by exposing their bodies. Extreme and mindless violence is celebrated. Families cannot watch such vulgar, vile, hideous and grotesque movies with children.
My suggestion is that if Punjabi filmmakers want, they can follow the model of American Cowboy movies or Western movies of 1960s and 1970s, which are exciting, have less violence, and with little vulgarity. Examples: 1) Once Upon a Time in the West; 2) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly; The Magnificent Seven; Eldorado; For a Few Dollars More; Unforgiven; God's Gun, and many more like these. The dead Punjabi film industry can be resuscitated if we stop glorifying mindless violence and demeaning vulgarity.
