Simagic Alpha Ultimate vs Simucube 2 Pro-which is better

  • The Simagic Alpha Ultimate is beautiful surprise and is here to fight the king of the Direct Drive Wheelbases for years Sumucube 2. For now I can compare those two wheels in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and Automobilista 2 and the other titles like AC, rFactor, Race Room, Dirt Rally etc must be tested in the upcoming weeks but I believe the results will be the same.
    If those here are out of your budget, you can check the Moza R5 and Moza R9 videos and soon I will start testing the 15nm Camus wheelbase which is the most budget base with lots of power !

    Steliyan I got an alpha U and used your settings from the video you made. I loved your settings but the simagic software has changed so much. I noticed in your latest video of your rig breakdown you still use the alpha U. I would love an updated settings video of what you are using now. Even if it’s just 1 min showing your current settings I’m sure myself and many others would greatly appreciate your expertise!

    Hey pal, before I start I wanted to say that I really really enjoy your videos, you seems like a very humble and nice person, and your production quality is a top noch level. I got recently into the Sim world and I started with Thrustmaster T300rs and Next Level F-GT cockpit (no lite) and It has been amazing but i started to upgrade and I started with the pedals, I went for the simforge mark-1 and they are insanely good. Then i started looking for a new wheel and it has been incredibly difficult to decide what to go for as there are many options and they all sound great, some of them are out of stock (Fanatec). Anyway this video helped me decide what I want to go for and I know everyone would still vote for the Simucube as it is more proven, but I felt like I really like the Simagic eco system and their style, and so I just bought the alpha-U. I am still waiting to be delivered and I hope i made a good choice, but looking at your comparison it is minimal between the U and the Pro. I am looking to upgrade my cockpit but I cannot decide and I was hoping if you could give me your opinion on few brands, sorry to message you here but I wasnt sure how else to contact you.

      You will love the Simagic U and there ecosystem become my favorite lately for the prices and they are improving constantly! Top quality products and materials!
      For the rig I would suggest you to choose aluminum frame based rig no matter which one as there are many which offer more or less the same thing ! Them pros of the aluminum rigs are you can constantly add different frames later and they are cheap and can be found everywhere!
      Rigs like the Omega are hard for upgrade as you have god the bug of Simracing and you are going strong as I’ve see from your upgrades, you will definitely improve something later and will be much easier with aluminum frames rig !

    I'm worried about the Fanatec release of the QR2, if each rim needs a $150+ new QR2 and the shaft for my DD2 being replaced must be at least $200+, I'm very tempted to swap over to the SC2 Pro.
    Do you think it's worth losing quite a bit of money to make the switch from Fanatec to Simucube? My main worry originally was how expensive the rims are vs Fanatec, I mainly use the F1 rim 95% of the time.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  Před rokem +1

      For me personally worth the switch to SC2 and I have read mostly positive comments from people who make that transition from Fanatec to SC but there were also people who didn’t felt huge difference , so that will be answered only from you personally and your own expectations buddy!
      That being said, you can concentrate your Fanatec formula wheel for Simucube with the kit from Simracing Machine but you will lose the dual shifter and can use the those two pedals only as separate inputs as throttle or clutch or buttons but not as dual clutch system!
      It will be up to you to risk and see if worth the switch mate !

    • @Hendrycks
      @Hendrycks Před rokem +1

      @Race Beyond Matter thanks! I'll wait for the QR2 release and if it's insanely priced I'll swap over. For me Fanatec is great for my skill level but they don't have anything higher priced that I can save and aspire to you know?
      The BMW and Bentley rims coming are cool but with Simucube and others I can aspire to eventually getting a GSI, Cube Controls, etc and no way am I buying those rims for Fanatec and paying a $200+ "tax" for a Podium Hub so that I can use it on Fanatec gear. There's no podium level and up pedals, the V3s are already the best they have, etc.

      I personally haven’t used my Simucube for over a year now and the Alpha Ultimate is my main base.
      It is not better from FFB point of view but they both produce exactly what I need so, the feedback is not the reason!
      What I like mostly is the quick release system from Simagic and there wheels!
      The software is Beta but there are constant updates and for a year now I personally never had a single crash which I had several times before with the Simucube but both ecosystem from software point of view in my experience are very solid!
      The FX pro is incredible wheel for the price but is closed in there software which means is not compatible with SimHub and have limited options!
      That being said , if you do research of there screens options you will find great options and will be wireless experience!
      The GSI is great wheel as well and have full freedom with the SimHub and you can still use it with Simagic base just adding a quick release!
      One other wheel you can consider is the Soelpec which is better then the GSI for example for the same price!

    I've noticed that Simagic wheels without any post-processing filters works almost perfectly in a matter of details. So they are awesome for a people that likes good experience out of the box.
    Yet I can't find this sweat spot with SC Pro 2 wheel. It's too "raw" with post processing turned off, but with even a bit of damping or any other filters - it starts to loose those priceless details. Also there is one thing that I can't overwhelm - counter-steering. To catch the car perfectly I have to lower the overall gain and of course loosing details again. This last point is mostly about AC, because ACC doesn't have this issue while it has dynamic damping.
