- Fred Hersch is a master pianist; this track is from one of my favorite albums "Fred Hersch plays Jobim." I've corrected a few errors, namely missing notes m. 51-52, m.100.

Hey! Fred Hersch is one of my favorite dudes on keys. His music might sound uncomplicated but having transcribed a few of his songs, I now see how complex his musicality is, and improv chops. Enjoy!
Sheet music: what is the song "Corcovado" about?
The lyrics talk about the author's (Tom Jobin) view of Corcovado (the mountain where Christ the Redeemer stands) from his apartment and being satisfied living there peacefully with his partner.
that's perfect! send me a message: timothygondola.com/contact
I only had to listen to this guy once to know how legit he is. His chord choices are simple, but impeccable. They require really good precision which brings me to the next point. His phrasing is just stupid. Like, It's on Keith Jarrett levels. 😂
‘Quiet nights and quiet stars ✨’
@@alexeonbel4304 he taught brad mehldau and sullivan fortner so
An oft-overlooked charm of this piece is that the title is very nearly an anagram for "Avocado Roc", which is a large mythical bird of prey known for its creamy green flesh, said to pair nicely with toast.
Underrated comment
It's got only 1 A though, that's 1 too short ^^ but nice find anyway, great laugh!
This is a stunning performance, as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned, and I've loved it for ages. Good on you for doing this, I've done quite a bit of transcribing myself, and I know how much work goes into it. There have been quite a few new Fred Hersch transcriptions on here, and it's great.
Bars 102 & 103 at 5:22 have been haunting me for WEEKS for some reason
Oh my lord!!!! How gorgeous it is!
I can't express what I felt with this piece, its just sublime!!!!
I felt the same!
So much quartal harmony, I love it!
Quiet night of quiet stars; a brilliant rendition
Really incredible work, man. Fred Hersch is a giant. Not as well known as he should be. Beautiful, beautiful playing
Beautiful!! Fred Hersch is One of the lirycal pianist
Stunning interpretation. Beautiful transcription.
Tom Jobim, um cantinho e um piano, corcovado o redentor que lindo
Tom Jobim é simplesmente incomparável
In a different but reminiscent way, I was spellbound listening to this as when I first listened to Albeniz' Iberia
I can say the same, Albeniz' Iberia is breathtaking!
Just gorgeous.
Simply elegant bravo
ㅠㅡㅠ 넘 좋네요....옥상에 누워서 별보면서 이 음악 듣고 싶어요🙏
The Bach of jazz
Stunning
Wonderful! Beautifully played and transcribed.
Thanks for recommending. Great feel for the piece, great expression that follows.
Marvelous job! Thank you!
넘 좋아용!
Just so cool!
Is this a computer program playing a transcription? It just sounds soooooooo perfect....
awesome!!! thank you
Stupendo. ❤
0:26 is Fmaj9 btw
Also bar 13 1:01 seems to have an extra note in the RH on the first bar. Or the rhythm is two semiquavers maybe?
Wow
Just.. perfect. Beautiful. 사랑해
3:22 this RH improv is so good. It feels like ive heard ot somewhere before but cant place it (a JP jazz artist). Diminished scale right?
jacob koller arrangement of moon river at 2:16?
Great!!!
👍🏾
This is beautiful! More Latino numbers!
Bellissimo..!!
Grazie mille!
Name of the intro?? Please...
It's a performance by Cory Henry! (Original is "All I Do" by Stevie Wonder)
Miles Davis gravou essa música.
The mountain in Rio?
Ian Gentry yes, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer is
If Prokofiev was a jazz pianist
Awesome as always, can you do the Bach suite by Oscar Peterson one day?
I love that piece! That would be really challenging and time-consuming, maybe I'll offer it for crowdfunding one day!
@@TimothyGondola ok thank you a lot
Why is measure four marked as a Csus4? Is that for the following measure? In the fourth one, there is a G and F, left hand, Bb and D, right hand.
great one! could you transcribe Summertime by Terrance Shider?
Perfect! Could you tell me the name of VSTi you mainly use?
Thanks! I don't use VSTi but notate into MuseScore.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hey, what's the intro melody? Where does it come from?
All I do from Cory Henry's performance at Montreaux. I've transcribed that one too 👍🏾
That's a Fmaj9 not an Am7 in the 6th bar
Do you play it by yourself ? Or its Midi sound ? So beautiful
Can i have the sheet music! Please!
brooo what is this crazy ass fermata in the last measure lmao
@Logan Searle Damn... Musical notation is getting out of hand lmfao. and there is probably some weird ass italian word for that. "Fermatissimo" or some shit
👍🎹👏
Goose bump...
Can i have the sheet music?
Hi ! Might sound silly, but anyone knows what’ s the song of the intro ?
Cory Henry's rendition of Stevie Wonder's "All I Do", which you can also find on Timothy's channel. :)
What is the music in the begining if this vidro pls?
Cory Henry playing "All I Do". You can find a transcription of it on Timothy's channel. :)
Sangah does it for me, and then some

Can you copy this song?
I thought the title said avocado at first 😅
These chord symbols are terrible...
Anybody else totally accidentally click on this because they misread the title as "Coronavirus"?
Nope
@@leandrogulrt You're just jealous cause you're not dyslexic like me. LOL
maybe it's because I'm a Brazilian guy and I can see the Corcovado where I live :)
@@leandrogulrt Well, see, if you'd have said that from the beginning we wouldn't be bickering. ;)
Regardless, love the music! Never been to Brazil, but wanna visit!
My dumb ass: "Corvacado? Like a corvid avacado???"
