I bought a 2017 platinum brand spanking new. It now has 197,000 miles on it and I am on the original CVT. I also drive this car very hard. Other than a tiny leak from the Tran pan this car is solid. I’m on my 4th set of tires and the car still runs good. I’m so happy I bought this car. I’m gonna keep driving it till it taps out. If it ever does.

It’s a great car! I’ve own 3 Maxima’s 2010 2015 2019 and all have been great cars. I read all the time people complaining about the CVT transmission problems and i must say I’ve never had ANY problems with all 3 of my maxima’s. I’ve driven the 2010 to 180k miles with no problems 2015 to 150k with no problems and have 81k on the 2019 again NO PROBLEMS. The car handles great! Love the car! Waiting for the next total redesign exterior interior model so i can buy it. People who have problems with the CVT are either dogging the car or not following proper maintenance on the vehicle. I drive the 2019 SR premium and love the way the car handles on the road. Great car!

This is my 6th Nissan Maxima and I have to say I haven't had any problems with it I know a lot of people talk about the transmission I've never had a transmission problem. Great car lots of standard options on the car where you would pay extra in other models. Have owned 3 maxima’s 2010 2015 2019 and have had no problems with any of them. I’ve never had any problems with the CVT transmission on any of my cars. Car handles great and have great pickup when you need it. I’m waiting for the next total redesign to buy it. Love how the interior cock pit surrounds the driver excellent design. Too many times other models design their interiors away from the driver vs towards the driver like it’s in the maxima. Great car!! People who own it and have problems with the CVT are the ones who probably aren’t servicing the car when needed and riding it hard. You ride any car hard it will eventually give you problems just ask any BMW owner. I had problems with my BMWs and other models but the Maxima has never given me any problems. Great car!

Purchased a 2010 Crimson Black Maxima SV off the showroom floor in January, 2010. Proceeded to drive it as a daily driver until just last month when I (begrudgingly) passed it on to my son who turned 16 and needed a solid vehicle. Put 190,000 miles on it, and did nothing but standard maintenance work on it - no repair work whatsoever! That car is without question the best vehicle I have ever owned, and the first one I've kept for more than four years (I'm 49, so I've owned a few vehicles in my time.) I've owned Honda, Toyota, Acura, Chevy, Ford, VW and Lexus prior. Maxima was better than all of them. My new car is an Infiniti Q70s. Hoping it lives up to the standard its little brother Max has set.

The Cvt in the Nissans are sort of brilliant in how they deliver seamless rpms when you need them buuuttt You cant decipher the power output from a Altima Maxima or Sentra. When Im driving it feels as all 3 have the same exact Cvt. Yes one is quicker but they all meet power standards at certain rpms. I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra. And this is my second Nissan besides a 94 Maxima back in the day. And that 94 Maxima was crazy fast. Cvts dont allow you to push pass the torque you really need to keep going full speed. If you over power your cvt too much it will start to sound horrible and reduce power quickly.

You need to do a test drive before coming to conclusion. I drive one and it shifts like butter. Driven an Acura TLX as well but this is not a slouch either.

All the models are pretty much the same , besides sunroof , interior lighting , fog lights , that’s the only difference & the SR has the stiffer suspension with paddles , nothing to exciting

Had this as a rental while my Continental was being repaired for a small fender bender. I had an MKZ before the Conti....and for the same price, it's no comparison. The only good thing about the Maxima is it's engine sound...that's it. The infotainment was slow, materials were cheap inside, the annoying beep for seatbelts...this is an easy pass to the next. I hated driving it with a passion.
