I feel the same way.
I think they believe that Lavar is hurting Lonzo's career, regardless if the media responds to Lavar's antics or ignores them. In other words, for example, ignoring the fact that Lavar took LaMelo out of school, doesn't change the fact that Melo will not have a high school diploma. If the Lakers traded Lonzo because Lavar threatened them (hypothetical), it would have nothing to do with media pundits publically voicing their concerns about Lavar. So, I think people are actually judging Lonzo for what Lonzo does, but are still justifiably concerned that his father is hurting his career. Even if the media never reported Lavar's antics, and those antics still caused his son to get fired, ignoring him wouldn't affect the outcome. Although, you're right, if a microphone, was NEVER put in front of Lavar again, he would have to go to greater lengths (like using social media or calling) for the league to hear him. And I think that is next to impossible to unequivocally boycott Lavar in news media outlets. Imagine what it would take to collectively coordinate every media outlet in the world from interviewing or reporting on Lavar Ball.
Regardless, the media is really trying to make Lonzo go against his FATHER, which is crazy.
