Perfectly explained, thank you. For anyone else, this video shows the OFFICIAL method on the UK Gov website. There is literally no need to pay any other third party sites for anything, they are just a scam and rip-off at best.
I have found that you can hold onto a valid UK passport if you are out of the country and it is required as a means of lD until you have received your new passport. You are required to send a colour copy of every page which are numberd including the front and rear cover with an accompanying letter explaining the reasons why you need to retain your old passport for security reasons. This meant l was not without a valid UK passport while waiting for my replacement UK passport to arrive.
Trust this additional information is found to be helpful in some cases of UK passport renewal.
You can also apply for a second passport if you want to. You can state a reason is that you can apply for visas and send away one passport and not be without a passport during that time, or for visiting multiple countries that may not be friendly towards each other.

Two points: 1. How do you get a code from a photo booth? What kind of code are they talking about? 2. How do you enter an address for a foreign country? Presumable the post code they ask for is for the UK?

Hello, at 6:40 it asks for your old passport, whereas for me it asks for my old passport and an additional court order. Can anyone help me understand what a cour order is and how I can get one so I can send one-off? Also, may a birth certificate be an example of a court order? Thank you

It took exactly 4 weeks for them to receive the documents if applied from the USA with usps priority express international. Please consider the pandemic and customs checkpoints by adding extra three weeks delayed processing.

Hello. If you’re permanent address during your application is in the Uk, then you need to click yes. I think this is asked so that they would know if they will send the renewed passport within or outside the Uk.
@@TheWooloffs Wich option do we have to choose which says . Wich is your passport issuing authority. There are 2 option. First one. UKPA, UKPS, IPS, or HMPO second one says other. ?? U missed that option on your video 😂
@@TheWooloffs iam not in the UK tight now and iam struggling to renew my passport. I went to UKs embassy and UKs consulate in Iraq_kurdistan but they are so un usefulness did not help at all😡 now iam stucked here. It's so complicate to renew online aswell I tried it so many times...

You can renew your passport at anytime, although recommended either 6 months to 12 months before expiry. Up to you.

Because it would require the entire world to agree on a single digital standard and to fit equipment that can read/authorise entry from them. Some places can just about manage a stamp

Hi I'm in sri Lanka. I want to renew my passport tomorrow. It seems at question 2 or 3. Do you live in uk. Well I'm from buk burning currently living albeit on a tourists visa in Sri lanka. So if I click srilanka it then tells me to print and fill in a payment form correct?? And send with passport. Also I saw they then email confirmation number and another form for me to sign and send along. So it will be old passport, payment authorisation form(( although I assume they process payment immediately?) Plus the form with my signature to print sign and send. Hope you understand?. It looks like they have calculated the extra courier fee and added it onto the passport cost. About 19£ from srilanka. Thanks

I don't know whether you can also help me with the following: my mother has a British passport but we live in Greece (her passport says British citizen) and she wants to renew it as it expires in November. The request is basically for an adult passport renewal (the standard one, not for British national overseas). The process is exactly the same or we need to make some extra steps or include some extra documentation? To my understanding since we want a standard adult passport renewal, the process is exactly the as you describe in the video- we will send her old passport back to the UK and they can mail the new one here in Greece (possibly with some extra fee). Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello. I read about this. It seems similar process as applying from the uk but with a few additional documents. You can have a look in this link below. I believe they will also let you know of which documents to send when you do the online application if you chose living outside the uk on one of the questions.

You need to report your passport as lost and await a cancellation communication. You can then apply for a passport renewal.

Make an application for adult renewal. If you've lost your old passport,. Make an application for adult replacement and get lost stolen reference number and give it to the passport office.
If you also have a foreign passport or travel document then you will have to send it as well with your application(original if applying from the UK and coloured photo copies if overseas) this is for name alignment.

When applying for a UK passport RENEWAL, do applicants having another citizenship (other than British) need to send their “native” passport too, along with the old British one? I hope not, as I would be frustrating to go through the same hassle as it was done for the first UK passport.
If you are a dual national and are making an application from within the UK then yes, you will have to send your most recent foreign passport. If foreign passport has a different name then you must change name on foreign passport before you make an application otherwise your foreign passport will be sent back to you and application will be put on hold and eventually withdrawn.

I’ve just check on the gov website (www.gov.uk/renew-adult-passport/renew) and it says the coloured photocopy of your foreign passport is accepted as supporting document to send along with your original old UK passport.
That’s a good thing. I’ll deal with that when I have to, though. I still have several years left on my current UK passport.

Hello. Are you referring to renewal of passport? You don’t need counter signatory for passport renewal.
