I’m not high elo in TFT but I genuinely want input on this. Second augment shouldn’t he just take RGR and lose streak since he just got his streak broken and has 93 hp to work with? I feel like that was really free, but I guess last stand is more likely to be a first place board? Just curious.
in reality, RGR isnt that great. Most top players will only take hedge fund comparatively. The only spots ive seen RGR taken is full gold opener 2-1.
Your point makes a lot of sense intuitively, but at the end of the day it really just comes down to augment balance. Rich get richer+ does not currently give enough gold to justify taking it over a combat augment, so the augment performs very poorly. On the flip side, the stats you get from last stand are so broken that you can often justify taking it even if you have a lot of hp.
As the comments above me have stated, RGR is simply not that good of an augment atm. Looking at the stats, it’s a consistently below average placement pick. It also loses a lot of value being picked on 3-2 over 2-1; at least on 2-1, it can kickstart your econ into an early 50 gold. But at 3-2, you should have 50 gold already, and the extra interest you can get over the game generally isn’t worth it over a combat augment.
Last stand also gains a lot more value the closer the lobby is; it can usually get you at least one placement higher, just by virtue of having an extra life.
