Thanks for playing. Genuinely had fun watching. Shame you didn't get a Positron Rifle drop from Legion or find any of the Katana-types. Also, Agartha has no element, prolly why it's kinda mid. Alastor also deals huge damage but Final Armor resists everything. Sherman Ring has 5× the exp it normally gives and you don't gain stats for the first 10 levels so I thought it was a better choice... I might have to rethink that. im not gonna fix the arena skip coz that was a ballsy move ngl E: nah i have to fr
The fact that soul drops are super high, combined with how each soul is hyper-buffed, really adds an interesting type of player expression, especially with some of the best souls just laying around
Recently found your channel because I was doing my own playthrough of Aria of Sorrow. Super entertaining stuff, man. I love your enthusiasm as you play.
Of all the changes made by this hack, I think my favorite is the way it handles spells and MP. By making spells more expensive, but giving you increased MP regeneration, the hack encourages you to use spells without being completely reliant upon them. They're meant to be part of a larger offensive plan rather than your bread and butter, which I think is nice.
The best AoS romhack I've seen until this moment. And there's no better player to show it off to us than Jupiter, really man your gameplay is fantastic !!!
@@taciolothar3794Mano, você sabe se ainda dá pra jogar essa hack, quando eu baixo o patch no site do comentário fixado eu não consigo tirar o zip porque diz que o arquivo está corrompido.
52:05 That's one too many Manticores there lol Probably my biggest gripe with this romhack, enemy placements creating slowdowns is not something you want to have in a mod/romhack. But otherwise, this is a very good romhack with some cool ideas! I loved the shortcuts.
I love how, because they remixed the game so much and made it so much more challenging, they offset some of the challenge with much, much better soul drop rates. It's just a good choice.
I've noticed that alot of ROM hacks of Aria of Sorrow make it so you cant really grind Red Minotaur for EXP anymore. They seem to fix the MP issue with Red.
And the Gladius actually makes sense animation wise in this hack! Cuz it’s a type of Short Sword it shoulda been the same size as the normal short sword in vanilla. But for some reason it’s really long for a Gladius normally lol. Though it seems out of nowhere that it’s Fire element in this game too.
it's kind of sad that only good non-mod hard mode in castlevania history was order, since it would have added doing what IGA did in the rest of games, especially portrait. would have added a lot of added replay value to the games. hell it would be interesting if a metroidvania comes along and adds a hard mode that includes unique enemies and bosses to the mix.
1:17:38 Those poor Kicker Skeletons can't kick! 1:20:51 Those flashy effects can be neat, but I think they can also be troublesome for some, if photisensitivity is on the line. 1:21:41 Did you stand on the water without Undine? Defnitely know what my next hack is gonna be. After I finish Wario Parallel worlds, of course.
1:20:51 It'd be better if rather than that weird flashing effect, if the tileset just changed every few seconds or something. That'd take a lot more work though.
hehe it's like the jiangshi from ooe. uh good point. i might have to look for a different avenue to grey out the chaotic realm. yes, scylla (spirit 2) comes with undine (spirit 1).
You know, I like loop idea. It's kinda adds more immersion like you walking around castle and towers. Gives more 3d dimensional feeling to his locations.
cant w8 to play this one, so many good games, reprise, hard type, alter, serenade all so good. i even did my own with aos rebalanced and other patches and dsv editor
This is just speculation but I'd hazard a guess that changing Chaos might be more involved than changing other bosses. It seems like it probably has multiple pieces that would need to be modified at the very least.
@@luminatron Is it? That's actually a surprise. I figured that with all the moving parts, it was probably multiple entities and probably some extra hardcoded stuff tied to the room itself.
29:52 you can still make that jump, if you time your double jump right (starting from the water) I've accidentally done it once and confirmed it by doing it twice...
Thanks for sharing the link, although I don't know how to make it run on the emulator, what should I do, I see it's an IPS file but the emulator apparently only works with GBA extensions, what am i missing?
Why are the colors of the enemies, scenarios and weapons different? I patched the game with the mod and the only thing I changed was the color of Soma's clothes.
Nooo I’m pretty sure Int scales damage for souls in vanilla aos too. Otherwise what else would it possibly do unless it’s for mp regeneration like in Circle of the Moon
I think the hack is harder now. I just played and there were two Balores in the arena boss fight. Looks like more rooms were changed as well. I swear the AI of a few enemies was changed as well to be more aggressive / annoying. Also CS got nerfed and can’t be jump cancelled now 😢

Em qual emulador vc recomenda jogar essa versão do jogo,é que arquivo vc usa ele ? É dá pra jogar no Android?

LOVE the recoloring work here.

I didn't even know Giant Ghost had that attack! Amazing what a few extra HP can do for a monster.

É maneirinho mas é difícil demais, deveria ter um normal Mode e esse Hardtype.
O Mod Alter dá 10 a Zero nesse aí.

There's room for improvement, but it looks very fun! Chaos should probably be immune to Dark elemental weapons like Death's Scythe, though.
54:16 recolor makes it looks like Sotn location 😊
It's one small thing, but I really appreciate fixing the mistranslations. Skula and Ronginus have always bugged me. Lubicant is just funny though.
I've noticed that alot of ROM hacks of Aria of Sorrow make it so you cant really grind Red Minotaur for EXP anymore. They seem to fix the MP issue with Red.
Durendal and Durandal are interchangeable, they're both correct. Durandal is absolutely the cooler spelling though.

This is the equivalent of the luck code in symphony
The black panter be like im speed !!!
It makes me irrationally angry to see that the Handgun attack sprites use Soma's OG palette instead of his custom one.
Why did you make me notice it? I can never I see it.
This hack was so fun to play, the version I played had a double balore and double chaos

He knows. Jup is a world record speedrunner for this game, the rom hack just moved the platform enough to where the jump no longer works
The version of Aria where Soma is an American exchange student.
How did you get the background recolor as well?
What did you do to make the game look like that? I'm playing the mod but it doesn't look like that

how do i play this hack? I have to put it in another castlevania or how is it done? please help
Go to pinned comment, go to link, download hack, use any IPS patcher and apply the IPS file you downloaded to a clean copy of Castlevania AoS, enjoy.
Oops! Yeah, you definently weren't meant to go to Arena that early, right? But it was a viable option.
Why are the colors of the enemies, scenarios and weapons different? I patched the game with the mod and the only thing I changed was the color of Soma's clothes.

I'm not a fan of the flashing effects in Chaotic Realm personally. Looks pretty cool otherwise.
35:30 is that off-brand menace?
This feels like 2d dark souls
Wish someone would make a mod that would let you attack diagonally
Wait... WHY JUPITER'S VERSION OF BALORE DOESNT HAVE 4 ARMS!!!??? *Visible trauma*
