I must appreciate Punam for her best efforts in preparation of some MEETEI FOOD though it had not achieved its mark. Basically, she is NEPALI (LAMA) and converted to MEETEI by virtue of marriage. We have to support and encourage her in her NEW LIFE.. But here I want to rectify regarding the use of CHANDAN (sandle wood) . So far I know we MEETEI used CHANDAN to signify ourselves as VAISHNAVITES. One more thing, we generally used HARIBOB (satkora) in preparation for OOTI. ( Not lemon bark.).
