    the lack of labels on EOL's and SLC devices is bothering me LOL but that's just me being a picky SOB. That ANNUN is really neat, I wish I could run into one like that. Love the video as always Nic!

      Yeah it's a problem to school district has with not specifying labeled fire alarm in the new buildings as they don't listen to the electrical staff that ask for it as far as the annunciator in Canada we have them like that in tons of buildings with custom graphic annunciators

      @@nics-systems-electric Dude, that would drive me mad. It's already a troubleshooting nightmare to figure out Area of Refuge wiring and SLC Devices in this hotel project we took over one time. Previous company labeled NOTHING. But wow, that's neat! I wish those ANNUN Maps were more common here in the US, I think they're so cool!

    Ok,that’s 3 more Wheelocks all ready for the durability testing bin. Also interesting variant of the Notifier/Mircom pulls in the gym…never seen that design before where you have to remove that top piece to activate; must be so the balls etc don’t set them off. Those baby swallows are super cute. As always Nic I just love these testing videos…you learn lots and get to see/encounter many interesting things along the way. Hope your new home FA install is going well so far.

    I’ve had that happen before where instructions say to disable a zone to bypass certain outputs and when you do the output that’s supposed to be bypassed isn’t. I find it easier to disable actual addresses as opposed to disabling zones.

    When the government gives you money to build a school, just spend it on way too many smoke alarms!

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  Před 11 měsíci

      Keep in mind engineers often make a percentage of the projects cost so if the engineer looking after the fire side of things designs a more expensive complex system they make more money from the job

    Plus, i can see that this school has one of your most hated bells you heard, The Wheelock MB-G10-24-R. I respect that. To me, It sounds like that because the MB-G10-24-R is a Motor bell.

    interesting to see bells on strobe plates and yet the strobes arent wired to the bell but rather to their own NAC outlet..over here in the UK you wouldnt see that..i mean tbh we dont even wire things to a sounder circuit as our addressable panels can support addressable sounders (that go on the same loop as our smokes etc) benefit is you can make the panel command the sounders to make various noises (EG emulate a bell for fire and slow woops for police) (or woops for fires and emulated bell for class change (in schools))

    I think I will prefer vibrating bells on code 3 rather than motor bells. Obviously we know the first one which is lag delays its like the motor keeps spinning when the signals not on, vibrating bells don’t do that they stop instantly after the signal stops. And another one is that the solenoid drops and muffles the gong and it’s very annoying.

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  Před 5 měsíci

      Vibrating bills are definitely better for a precise signal. I haven't ever seen motor bells drop hammer onto the gong usually it is spring loaded and holds in the middle

      @@nics-systems-electric ive seen tons of motor bells just drop the solenoid onto the gong and muffle it and i think its because something has worn out or smth inside the motor piece

    Why do they have System Sensor remote strobes but Wheelock strobe plates? They can’t sync with each other.

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  Před rokem

      They don't need to sync as the wheelock devices only need to sync because there are multiple ones viewable in certain spaces but the system sensor devices don't need to be synchronized with each other
