    Finally, now people will see how fantastic this band is! I love all of their stuff but it is hard to say that some of the muse stuff wasn't in more of a niche genre. They evolved their sound to play these driven darker songs that pull it back a bit more than previous works, and I love it. See you on Billboard 100 Polyphia!

    I've been a Polyphia fan since the Inspire EP days, and I will say I do miss that Polyphia. Inspire was basically the ideal djent/progressive metalcore/whatever EP to me. I mean, who hasn't watched that Impassion or Transcend playthrough at least 60 times each? haha.
    However, you guys have moved on, and I'm happy to say that this new stuff is just fantastic. You guys have matured into a new style, *the* Polyphia style.
    Muse was a little rough around the edges, but it was a new sound for you guys and some experimentation was needed.
    These newly released singles, however, sound perfect. Love every single track. I know many people will disagree with me, but the great guitar playing, tasty bass licks, and excellent drumming combined with wonderful atmospheric and electronic elements are going to make this easily the best album of 2016 from what I've heard so far.

  • @MukesBoy
    @MukesBoy Před 5 lety +5

    I think one of the main aspects if their playing styles thats incorporated into their music is that they gain inspiration from songs and sounds outside of not only the rock genre all together but from music thats not using guitars at all. Ive seen them state that many times over the years. The last album they had out 2014-2015? was inspired by pop rap and what passes for R&B now. And a lot of it was radio friendly at that. I find it amazing that they can borrow soundscapes from these songs and then arrange and structure their songs around them as well. That's much more complicated than playing Mario Bros. on a bass Vivaldi on an 8 string guitar. I love the sound that comes from these 8-9 string guitars so long as their used sonically well. No one can be Meshuggah or Animals as Leaders; actually no one else can I don't think. Its refreshing to see such talented players using the traditional guitar in such a way. Dimebag said in an interview I saw around 15 years ago when he was asked what he thought about bands moving over to 7 string guitars (anything above that would have probably been considered impractical since there was no genre to support the need of such a thing back then)Dimebag said "They need to learn how to play 6 strings first off" The Fundamentals. These fellas have that in spades with some to spare.

      @@circuitfire886 Seems like a nightmare with the dancer having to repeat her routine even in great pain. I see it as a metaphor for life itself when things seem rough and you just have to keep persevering against all odds. Then it turns out it was a bad dream so maybe that's a representation of her fear of not being able to appease the person who appears to be some sort of God-like entity making her dance for his entertainment. Maybe Im digging too deep but that's my interpretation. The music also sounds hopeful and inspires one to keep going. Love this song and video :)
