I just love that Louisiana accent! A real southern belle and she and her singing sisters are legends in my mind. I learn again in those days, how Americans faced adversity and worked and worked to prevail against them, as she did against polio. Cap off to her!

that she was able to handle the career she had is amazing , but polio or not , SHE WAS GREAT , and after all these years those recordings are still magnificent - she had a fabulous voice and knew what to do with it ! SPECTACULAR !

Connie was very positive and an inspiration! It must've been terrifying to be in bed paralysed with Polio like that.

This is why vaccines are needed. Most people have no idea that things like polio once existed because it's been wiped out in the US by everyone having been vaccinated in some manner.

She is not lying about the food trick. Even now it is almost impossible to train a dog to hold food in their mouth without eating it AND give it back! I could tell just watching her rapport with the dog that she was a MASTER dog trainer on top of being one of recorded music's vocal pioneers. Much respect 💪🏾

Connee was the only sister of the three to continue her music career after the sisters split. The other two devoted themselves to being mothers. This is according to Wikipedia.
