I thought maybe the Ilil isnt “lil” but maybe illionois. Like a mistake of reading the capital i as a lettercase l. And the 35” is part of a coordinate, if its 35” latitude, it’s nearby Fayetteville, north Carolina. Even though the case is in north virginia, the name of the city with the same name is hinted, like it’s indirectly saying thats where the man came from: Fayetteville. Instead of outright saying Fayetteville, North Virginia, it’s using the 35” coordinate of a place that coincidentally has the same name that is required to cross a border.
Maybe they were taken to Illinois, and the letter is saying 35” for someone to find the city of the same name, the boy is from Fayatteville

13:40 This photograph is the reason I believe the children must've survived... In a True Crime Podcast, Sylvia (the youngest sister) gave an interview mentioning that Louis gave his brother Maurice the nickname "Frankie"... so Louis might've actually sent this picture to his mother as hint that he was still alive. Maybe they were scared to directly contact the family?

He may have thought that he could be more outspoken about the atrocities under Mussolini in America (free country, etc), particularly after Mussolini was executed which had already happened around the time of this case. There is also evidence of complete incompetence too, with 10:46 being evidence that the Fire chief was not mentally healthy... Assuming the kids were kidnapped, that must've occurred before the fire. When Ryan said George tried to go back for them but the staircase was on fire, it's very unlikely that the remaining kids would've survived a possible escape or survived had they have burned. Same goes for the kidnapper (again assuming this was their fate). The hour between the mother hearing the noise on the ceiling and waking up to smoke must've been when the kids got kidnapped.

Pretty much yeah, considering they were most likely from the dirt he used to fill the basement, and that we no longer know where they are. If they still had access to them then that would be great, they could DNA test them and see if it’s actually one of the kids or at least identify who they belonged to, but unfortunately they can’t do that. No use dwelling on it if it can’t help the case.
