Rather than going 100% digital.... I've used the HDMI dongle for months, and mine works fine. So maybe you were just unlucky...
You first have to change the video output settings in the options of the ps2 for the hdmi convertor to work . My hdmi convertor came with a usb cable that i had to plug in the front of my ps2.
That's not necessary, the HDMI adapter will support all methods of video output. Dude just didn't actually power the HDMI adapter, it's an active converter and needs power to convert.
They did make a PS2 Slim. It was the start of the Slim Console updates we got in the future. Also, that HDMI adapter needs a USB to Micro USB for power I believe might be part of the issue
Lamar, I think the problem may be due to the video output settings on the PS2. I don't know if you'll see this, but try turning on the PS2 with no game inside, press down, press X, press down 3 times, press X, then press left, then press X. I think you have to change this video setting for the HDMI adapter to work. You have to do it for component cables, so I think it may be the same.
I think you have to plug in the adapter to power, like on the side of the adapter there's a micro usb port that you plug into a wall outlet. At least that's how mine works

Hey brother, sorry for your frustration on the PS2 but one thing I noticed was the PS2 to HDMI adapter you bought. Where you plug in the HDMI there is an A/C Power input that needs to be plugged in as well. Without that, the adapter will not work. Your TV shows an HDMI plugged in but it's only because it registers when it's contacting a pin located in the HDMI port. This doesn't mean it has a signal. The adapter you bought should've come with the power plug for the adapter. I only mention this as I had on of those as well. Please let me know if this helps. But I do agree with everyone, that PS2 Slim model is in horrible condition.

Hi Lamarr, I think you need to plug your ps2 into an older tv with the composite cable first and this will give you a signal then go into the system setting of the ps2 and change video output to y pb br component then try it again on your OLED display 😀

No scam here just a guy who didn't pay attention to the listing description The guy even admits he has no idea how much he paid for it. So i think its fair to assume he bought it without looking at the listing first.
All you gotta do is just let eBay know and they will give the seller 3 days to make it right and if they don't eBay will step in, refund you and ban the other guys account for selling items like this.
Apparently you didnt learn any lesson because clearly you have not idea about Ebay's buyers protects. Ebay favors buyer over seller so it not big deal at all to get full refunds when item is not as described or item has not been shipped or met deadline. Also seller reviews are there for a reason. You as a buyer just doesnt know what they are doing.

To be honest, the issue is probably the HDMI adapter not communicating properly with your TV. Those things don't work with every TV, especially some of the fancier TVs.

If you have a certain model of the PS3 you can still play your PS2 and even PS1 games so there's that.

red light means it's on standby mode, green means it's on
ps2's dont' HAVE a standby mode... it's either on or it isn't. Same with ps3 actually. Red light just means it's got power (plugged in).
Azhrei2000 they do have a standby mode. The I/O switch at the back is what takes it from off to standby. Power button or eject turns it on

Discs often are too scratchy and won't work after years.

You have to go into the setting on the ps2 using a scart and change the video output so it will work with hdmi.

I got a ps2 on offer up with 2 controllers, 2 memory cards, and 10 games for 20 bucks in all in great condition. Best deal of my life.
