jin is just witty and naturally funny without trying, he just respectfully roast ppl and state facts with power with humor , I love him for that, and btw in bts I think tae would be the perfect one playing as joker. and jin would nail a role with complicated duality, I mentioned taejin cuz they are the best actors in the group, I mean they are great actors, u will see that in more run bts, specially jin, he is just THE ACTOR, but the others can act too tho.

RM actually mentioned this...not too long ago, they really do struggle with English!! And it’s harder than you’d imagine because the languages are so different....they dont follow the same rules so it’s hard, grammar and wording, suffixes and prefixes (much like French has its specific differences)...
Even RM has to repeat and rehearse for when he needs to speak for longer periods of time!! And he says he struggles with correct wording of scentences, like the order of what word comes when, because of not being in as many English settings this year, he said his enlish has become worse and he needs to practice!! So yeah, they mos def understand a lot more than you’d think, but speaking is really hard!! He has even said he struggles because “everyone thinks he can just speak English freely whenever he wants and that he’s just as good all the time”, but it takes hard work, and when he doesn’t use it, he forgets it easily...
And when it comes to learning English from “Friends”, it’s just like where I’m from...English is mandatory in school, so watching any tv show to actually understand how to use the language when speaking just ads to what you’re already learning!! As they say, just studying a language isn’t enough to learn nuances!! So yeah, “Friends” probably just provided him with some extra input and a whole lot of variety regarding spoken form of English...

@@wesnnicole010..yeah an I can attest to that...I am a polyglot, or was I dunno!! Anyways, thing is that I do know and understand more than five languages, and use them frequently but not equally as frequent. So for instance, my French gets archived somewhere inside my brain when I dont use it, and when I start using it again it isn’t even close to my actual abilities!! I have to use it and keep using it for a while, for my mind to get used to it and start unpacking that archived information from wherever in my brain its being kept.
And because I speak so many languages, I can actually place them in an order from most to least fluent, and it has a direct correlation to how much I use each language. If I dont use it on a daily basis, then my fluency gets worse...
For whomever it might concern:
1) Swedish
2) English
3) Spanish
4) Serbian (Bosnian and Croatian)
5) French
I’ve only listen the languages I actually both speak and understand fully...if I were to list the languages I can understand but not fully, and sort of can use..I’d be dishonest...

For your question about the language. Yes it's possible actually. For me, my first language isn't english but I improved it by watching several movies and shows. And I learned a third language as well only watching TV series. I've watched tonnes of turkish TV series for like 2 years and I picked up the whole language, speaking, reading and writing. So it can be done even if you don't put your mind to it. For some reason I've also picked up a lot of korean words, sentences and phrases within one year only because of the amount of drama that I watched as well. So I guess anyone can do it.
i learned english at a very young age by watching sesame street and pixar/disney films! it helped that our local tv was trash and had no choice but to turn to american educational shows 🤣 i could only imagine how much harder it is for people with non-roman characters tho. must require a different level of intellect and determination.

What RM did was the best way to learn English. That's what most of us foreigner did to learn it. Movies and TV shows are fantastic tools to learn but the biggie is to get out of your comfort zone and talk to people. RM is so courageous making speeches at the UN in front of a large audience, doing interviews in English in America etc. I also now that Suga understands English quite well but he's too shy to speak and Jungkook is actually learning 10 words a day.

I don't now if someone has already said this but imma still say it, so Namjoon is like crazyyyy smart, like in school he was good in all the maths, sciences and he took, I think, two foreign languages, English being one of them and Chinese or Japanese, I cant rememeber, he was so smart that his parents wanted him to further his education but he wanted to be a rapper, hence why he was able to learn English better through watching Friends, not like he learnt the entire language just by watching a tv series hahah, nahh he already had knowledge of the language so watching Friends, continiously apparently, helped with his communication and learning like everyday words.

I kinda learned English from shows too. You gotta know it's usually mixed with music (most American music is international) and while we study the basics in school, TV shows, like FRIENDS make us learn it bc of the subtitles

Ironically, i got into kpop because i was learning Korean. Music/movies are a great way to learn. I learned pretty basic english vocabulary and sentence structure in primary school. But i became fluent the same way RM did: i watched movies and series with the french subtitles, then the english ones. I was taking a film class in high school, and i often had to watch the same movie/scenes twice to write a paper. I thought it was a very common way to learn, but judging by the reactions to namjoon's comment idk anymore lol.
I learned english by watching different dramas too.When you watch it you automatically learn the language because even though you don’t understand much in the beginning you can guess the meaning by gestures and over time you‘ll learn it although you don‘t intend to learn it.

the thing that's crazy is that the alphabet and the structure of the two languages are completely different.
i learnt English from Italian and it was still very hard, even with he same alphabet and sounds and similar phrasal structure.
i can't even imagine trying to learn Korean or Japanese

It's actually possible to learn a language from watching a show (by rewatching it), that's how I learned Spanish, you pick up things without knowing it (like how children learn how to speak by listening to the adults around them), but I think it's easier when you're younger (i was like 9 or 10), it does take a lot of time, but I didn't notice because I was watching something I enjoyed.

to learn japanese from an anime, i play and pause each episode line by line writing down every word and usually you start to notice and pick up repeating words. it takes forever and you end up with the entire script written down but it works!🙂💔

True. Learning other languages by your own its hard. I can speak 3 languages currently include english n korean. I taught myself korean and at the same time i learnt english because i watched many kshows and kdramas in eng sub. Back then there weren't many dramas and shows in my language even now so i had to watch it with eng sub. It's had been 10 years now n glad that korean n english become my fluent languages along with my home language

It's true that learning new languages is pretty hard but in a lot of countries (where English is not the first language) people often speak 2 or 2+ languages. For example in France (I'm French) everybody speaks French, and most of the population speaks English and we also have to learn a third language in school (often Spanish, German or Italian) ! Some people also have a regional dialect/language
