Fun fact: this song talks about a time when Rebecca Sugar was a kid. She lost her stuffed rabbit in the garden. When she found it half a year later, the rabbit's belly was white because the sun damaged it.
She also mentioned that Spinel from Steven Universe unintentionally ended up representing the stuffed rabbit as well

To me this song represents the memories of a lost loved one.
The memories you have of them are going to be less reliable every day you don't see them again, but when that's all you have left it's the closest thing to the truth.
To me it's more about the passage of time. Things will change, but others will stay the same. Some of it will be small or be nice and some of it will be bad and even hurt you. That's just how time works in your life is it goes forward.
That song for me is Time Adventure, the finale song. Time is an illusion that helps things make sense, but you and I will always be back then. The memories and times spent in the past will always be there, even though to us it might seem like it's a long ago faded moment, the us that was there still experienced all the joy and love no matter how much time passes. Those moments in time are saved in our memories, so in a way they never really end. And if our memories start to fail, there's always pictures and memorabilia to keep a small window open into the times lost to us.

To me this song speaks about the harsh unforgiving nature of life. Everything stays- everything that you set aside, objects, relationships, hobbies, stay. And you can return to them. Objects fade literally, relationships fade, passions fade and even skills as in for an instrument or a pen you put down everything stays but changes every so slightly. It could even apply to pets. Every day a little more grown, then older, the more tired as they age. What hits me is the new lines. "the water's gotten higher as the shore washes out... keep your eyes wide open even when the sun is blazing. the moon controls the tide it can cause you to drown"
I take those lines as a beautiful way to describe hard times. The moon, everchanging with time, controls the tide, the state of things. You have to "keep your eyes wide open"- which could be another way to say "keep your head up" I feel the lyrics put it better "even when the sun is blazing"- as in you have to face your troubles, your challenges, and your demons head on or it[the moon] could cause you to drown". To me this song is about the harsh nature of life. Everchanging in some ways, yet there are things that stay even if they fade. And while those things fade you have to keep your eyes open to avoid drowning in the tide under the moon.

I love A.T. it does feel odd I'm 66 years old but the stories blow me away. Some of the characters are so wild e.g. Lemon Grab, Peppermint Butler the dude who lives in a cube and I think he monitored people,s dreams he hosted parties with Cosmic Owl in a jacuzzi. Absolutely fantastic TV.

nothing wrong with it. its a great show and can bounce from silly fun, to outright horror and then hit you with emotionally deep topics like relationships and growing up or coming to terms with yourself not being who or what you thought you were. stuff like that, that will make you think.

To me this song represents everything you had when you were little. And how pieces of it may remain, But it all changed, and is never coming back. And we just have to deal with that.
Memories of the past come flooding to me every time i listen to this. Memories of things that bought me joy, And realising how so many of them went down a different path than they started. And everything just wound up getting effed up. For a moment, When i listen to this, I can go back, I can relive it again, And it brings me back with the sorrow that its just a memory.
Life is something to cherish in every moment. Even if you think your dealt a bad hand, You have to learn how to love the time you have. Youll be stressed, youll wanna cry, youll wanna fight whatever it is opposing you. But you cant let that cloud who you are and let it be everything. You have to go on, There are more days ahead, and more memories to be made. Will you sit down, miss out on everything you could experience and sulk in what was? This made me cry because it’s so true. Adventure time brings me back for a slight moment and makes me forget all that’s wrong. I really miss this. I really wish I never made the wish of growing up because I miss my childhood so much. Adventure time and regular show do this to me. There’s just a lotttt of crying

...this song makes me think about all sorts of things that have left my life... people, plans, paths. You can't ever go back to exactly where you left off, but the effects of everything before will always persist, in their effects on everything afterward.
Indeed, honestly this song is great and if there was a way to go back you'll be a different person as you'll actually enjoy going thru the life you lived and feel more emotional living it and meeting all the people and things that you left behind.

To me this song represents how even though it sometimes we're not the same person as we used to be, we are, but all these parts of us have changed to become something new and that's not necesarilly good or bad.
This brings me back to when I was about 7. I was so excited to see shows like Steven Universe, Dexter's Laboratory, Adventure Time, and Kick Buttowski. I always hopped up anytime I saw Finn accomplish his goals. Then, it all started leaving. Every time I saw the end of a show, I began to bawl my eyes out knowing there is nothing else to learn about to show. There will no longer be anything new or interesting, just shows I've already experienced. But one thing i remember about my childhood is this song and Love Like You. Anytime i heard either of those songs, i felt happy, as if i was at my prime glee. Ever since I've come back to this song. I've gained so much more nostalgia and I feel like I have my life on track. Seeing how much I've solely grown off of animation and music, I want to get into Digital Arts and animate to be as great as the people who made my childhood as great as it was, to get a guitar so I can learn to be as great as Marceline, to learn how to cook so I can be thie greatest Boyfriend for the person whose given me a new perspective on life, to learn how to sing to improve my voice so I can be as angelic as people say I am, and to give me and my girlfriend the brightest future possible. Now I'm only 13 so of course I sound incredibly eccentric and exaggerating, but I believe that if i try hard enough, I can achive all these goals. As long as I never give up and keep going through my hardships in life that i have yet to go through, I'll make it. Sitting, looking up at the city skies, with shine and passion in my eyes from what I intend on becoming.
I just want to say....thank you Rebbeca Sugar, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe for teaching me that anyone..can do anything

I love Adventure Time, and I watch it often, but when this group of episodes comes on I refuse to make plans with anyone. I make sure I make no plans and do it on a weekend, and I’ll watch it through once or twice in that weekend. Every time, I cry and get emotional so I need my me time to recover. I love it so much ❤

This song represents the memories of a lost loved one, or childhood memories....but i feel like its also like a story of two people going different ways. like a story where one is kind of left behind. "everything stays." but even when their still willing to be there, the relationship has changed. even if its a small change or something. something changed. and that's was just the beginning. the more time passed the more separated they become. until either for the very first time in a long time they have seen each other.
or it could be the memory of a lost one. because no matter what, your memory will change over time and it will become fuzzier.
or it could be nostalgia, how we take our childhood memories for granted and then we have to pick them up after they chattered to give ourselves inner peace

This song is everything to me, everytime I have a panic attack, it brings me back to reality, it reminds me of easier times, safer times, innocent times; away from the horrors of reality. The song offers a sort of transcendent experience for me when I close my eyes and hits a part of my heart that nothing else really can, this song has gotten through so many hardships and I will continue to seek it out forever.

This song makes me feel so scared of growing up. My parent are still with me right now and they are not going anywhere but I just know that someday they're going to leave me. I still have my stuffed bunny, named Rosie, who I accidentally left outside for a week so her front turned white but the underside was still her pink coloring.
Side note: My mom actually tried throwing her away because 'I obviously didn't care enough about her' and I sobbed for an hour until an hour later my sister came into my room with Rosie, who she had went into the outside trash can to get her for me behind Mom's back. Of course Mom noticed she was back after I forgot to hide her a few weeks later, but I don't think she even remembers this happened at all.

To me the lyrics of everything stays are what adventure time as a whole is supposed to represent, the biggest example being the whole reincarnation thing. Everything changes ever so slightly, but the baseline stays the same.
It's heartbreaking realizing that everything basically loops back to the beginning in the end. Finn reincarnates, new adventurers appear, and the world doesn't change (probably another war broke out).
