- Tamer's 250hp 1967 Morris Mini panel van weighs just 1000 pounds and is powered by a '96 JDM-spec Integra B18C Type-R VTEC engine with the S80 5speed B-series transmission. It's scary fun.

Tamer Metwalli @joltfreakmini found this extremely rare 1967 Morris Mini van body imported from Australia as a bare shell. With his own hands doing all of the work except paint, the full restoration and build was done at home, including an LHD conversion, custom front tubular subframe, and JDM-spec Honda B18 engine swap from an Acura Integra Type-R. Not mine but a MUST WATCH
Well, if you ever get to South Carolina. My car isn't as awesome as Tamer's, but it gets down the road.
volume is crazy low.... It was hard to watch.
Would you be intrested in 2 wheeled vehicles as well? A friend and I are building 2 different projects, the 1st one and old Chevette chassis which He's adding a full rollcage onto And putting a 2.3 l turbo 4 cylinder from a mid eighties Thunderbird in it also, The 2nd project is what he dubbed project to death bike, We're putting a snowmobile engine in a motorcycle chassis not a normal motorbike, but like an 80CC kids motocross bike.
That mini is awesome ! 18 months to build....he's smarter than he lets on. We need more talented yet humble guys like him.
The shell of the mini is amazing no rust that's what you need no rust it's a clean shell cos here in🇬🇧uk they are rust buckets hardly any left over here that shell sat in Australia bone dry for years n years that's a few grand spent there
Wow. Looking back at this guy's builds... I like his style! Loving the way you guys are putting together these clips 👍
Coming from a fabricator with your skills that is a real compliment !
Thanks!!
I still don't understand how you don't have a million plus subscribers this is one of the best channels ever on CZcams thanks to by favorite Canadians 👍
G'day from West Australia,
Talk about bring back memories.
I Am or perhaps was almost 6' 3" first time I had a customer come in with a mini, the customer looked at me and said maybe I should let my short guy drive it🙂
I have to admit I was dubious about getting in the car.
As I and customer found out plenty of room LMAO.
Hah, our old mobile toolbox ! (in the days when you did it with hammers and saws and boxes of nails !) ours were flat roofed caused by using them to move railway sleepers(ties to you) up and down sites !
Awesome build beautiful car love the type R Swap but that exhaust oh my God! Please if it sounds that bad on my phone . 😲😟🔊🐝
What's so neat is the PARTY starts at 4000 rpm and wails until 8!! Too bad he didn't drive it like he stole it for you and us. The Vtec is crazy at high rpm's. A friend had one and never took it over 4k, then after watching others went out and scared himself!! Cool color!!
I did drive it pretty hard but they didn't make the cut. It might have been the fear in Tamar's eyes as the torque steer put me in the other lane!
@@DEBOSSGARAGE That is a BIG Problem but I though LSD would get rid of that . Mostly!!
marty
Even with the LSD it will have some torque steer. Without one it would be un-driveable with this much power to the wheels.
@@MrJoltfreakHow about the poor man's torque steer. Welded together?
I met this guy in rockton! Was driving the batmobile mini with the sbc! Nice guy
Awesome video guys! The smiles per gallon were through the roof. What a blast of a joy ride for a coffee run. The car looks fantastic and you guys never stopped smiling the whole way through. I'm not kidding when I say this is like a dose of good medicine and therapy all in one. Kind of like watching Jay Leno drive the rarest and strangest cars seen on the web every week. It is just really cool to see short video's like this to start my day and get inspired to go work. Thanks Rich and Crew for all you do.
Never seen a 67 mini cooper van that is so cool
thats because its a mini, not a mini cooper
@@petelattimer6808 if you say so
Great little ride ! Thanks to Tamer for sharing it with you, and thanks to you for sharing it with us !
TheCanadianBubba
Thanks for the kind words!!!
Nice build. Not every day you see a honda swap. I saw the the GMC/Chevy C10 build in the background. Loking very good. Cant wait to see it in action.
that is AWESOME! I love it. Small and light, very clean.
"I don't want to do a coffee run, I want to do a cocaine run." Hahaha, love it!
I've never seen two dudes grinning so much in a mini van. Wicked little van!
JCB Driver that's some great times right there
I love cars that make you smile. This one is a riot! Very nice build sir!
I'm told that this was my old shell from a project I never completed pass the body restotation. Cool.
Kevin Chappell
Hey Kevin, yes this was the same van you had.
I mean I didnt think that rich could smile more than he already does.....Damn did that MINI make his day.
I'd love to give that one a try. You can get kits to adapt a sportbike engine into a Mini. Fun thing though, is that the kits come with a gearbox to add reverse, as motorcycles don't have them. But, since the transmission on most sportbike engines is integral, that means once you add the reverse box, you get all six gears in reverse if you want!
Think the mini is hard to drive with a 1.8l motor, imagine a 1.0l motor but with 190hp, a 15k RPM redline driving backwards!
Mike McKeen
I did look into bike motor swaps. I’m not a fan of a motor and drivetrain pushing something heavier than what it was designed for. It would work for a track weapon but not well as a road car.
@@MrJoltfreak Yeah for sure. Having to rev to 9k RPM just to get it moving gets tiresome. Fine on a bike, but not a street car.
As an utterly ridiculous toy, I can't think of anything better though.
This channel is so awesome! Thanks so much for the content. I discovered your channel about a week ago and it's all I've been watching. Love it! 😊🤩🤗
Hey @9:19 that's a "Wink" Mirror -- I used to have one of those in my little Acadian back in the late 80s. Never seen another one around Ontario.
That is a crazy little mini. Definitely would have to be a labour of love to build something like that. Really loud also -- I kept turning down the video volume when you were driving and then back up when you were talking...
Keeping British Leyland , Austin mini alive with a lion heart of a engine proud of you mate😎🇬🇧😎🇺🇸😎🇬🇧🇺🇸
Cool ass car though i love to see crazy builds. Craziest build ive seen was a 68 Camaro with a duramax. And it was so nice it looked factory in the bay
Great looking and sounding mini.beautiful color.
Amazing build
That is a cool project! I like this more than any other mini I've ever seen
What a reliable and easy to maintain engine, in a chassis nobody really talks about often.
Nice to see you have a taste of honda glad you like it. Honda for life!
I started laughing at the beginning and giggled through out the whole thing!
That thing is so cute!
Next time can he show us where he winds it up?!
Beeen waiting to see more vtec mini content watched every vid on CZcams! I’ll be putting tons out when mine is done!!
It looks like a hearse for muppets. "It's time to start the music..."
Ok the best comment yet.
^^ this
That is so cool! I was really hoping to hear you smash on it and hear the vtec lol
Beautiful Mini build! The owner has skills
Building a 4AG-C to put in my 1972 Leyland Mini clubman. Freaking love these cars
Nice, it should make for a little bit better fitment.
50 yes. ago, I knew a guy that had one of these with a 283 chevy motor in it. It would wheelie no prob. It was painted an electric purple.. on the side panel was painted Poco Loco.. just love these cars ever since. I'm thinkin; one of these done electric would be a riot..
A good build. Over here in the UK.
Everyone went mad for type R conversions over 20yrs ago!!
It's the Renault clio past 10yrs been the favourite hot mini to Tune up in Europe..
So I spose in 15yrs time will be seeing them in classic build shows maybe?
loved it...have a safe trip
My first dream car was the 300SL. Then I saw a Mini Cooper. I will have one of the two one day!
Kickass build, I love it! Couldn't stand the exhaust drone though personally lol
You never stopped smiling.
That’s a clean looking van!
Another great video want more genuine custom cars trucks etc.
Nice build.
Stumbled on to your channel with the Midget build and have been stuck on it for hours now 😂. This mini is sick. I have a thing for British cars so this caught my eye. This guys nailed it. Well done. Now get back to work on the SR4PTGTMG 😎
fun to drive AND I bet it gets great MPG
the aussie boys from MCM did one of them the same swap and his is on E85 and is off its head
Mostly correct, he wanted to do away with the E85 when he swapped it because the fuel mileage was terrible, and the fuel tank is microscopic
@@this_guy6965 ya the boys from MCM had the same prob if i remmber thay added a 2nd tank
No, what I was saying is that the MCM guys did away with E85. They converted it to E85 whem they supercharged it, but one of the main issues Moog had was that he couldn't go very far, so he swapped it for more power, but it was also more fuel efficient to run the Honda engine on regular pump gas
@@this_guy6965 oh my bad mate
All good dude, just letting you know
Coolest Mini I've ever seen!
Very cool and a great video 👍
my first car was a 75' S Mini, and i'm 6'5" haha, was like driving a go-cart, but, so much fun :)
Great project!
Great video Deboss
That's a death trap if i've ever seen one. LOVE IT!
Interesting comparing this to MCM mini.
It should be called : " The 67' Fart Machine "
Yeah... A quiet exhaust would be so much better.
It sure doesn't seem that fast.. A lot of noise with not much happening.
JessieJ
Planning on adding a turbo to it which should quiet it down a bit.
for sure, it would be much better as a silent sleeper. I could see having an exhaust dump for getting rowdy or gassy :))
@@MrJoltfreak Adding a turbo will no quiet down those ghetto fart pipe tips you have on that car. If you want my opinion install a 3 inch straight pipe with no fart tips! Remember the more you let a 4 stroke breath in and especially OUT the more power you will get.
@@jessiej3991 ur an idiot if you think adding a turbo doesnt quiet a car down a ton. Disregard anything this guy says after that
Cool build, but it's a shame about the FART CAN.........................
Nice ride 👌👍😎
Wow that's fkn champion build.
Never wanted a mini until now !! haha
What an awesome little beast! And his earlier creations looked amazing as well! :o
If I where to do anything I'd probably build crazy Saab's and Volvo's, probably done to death over here (Sweden) but I love me some Volvo. But mini's are awesome, probably the coolest car ever made! :D Probably nothing that hasnt been done with a Mini, road racing, rallying, drag racing, hill climbs, bet there has been 4x4 off road mini's at some point! xD
We need a rock crawling mini next! :P
Wow...... might be the perfect little city car
So sick!!!
Love it!
Loverly car dude very talented man
Build 2,5" exhaust with two mufflers, it'll sound way cooler
2 mufflers? Lol
Wow!! Tool cool!!
Hahaha... not bad for a little mini pooper 💪
Power to weight ratio is rather good I'd bet.
I didnt even know that mini wagons existed!
lol yup and pickups, station wagons, offroaders, even a campervan lol
@@2011metalmaniac are you trolling or serious?
@@tylerwildman7119 no serious, look at the mini moke, the mini wildgoose, the mini woody

Awesome
nice mini cooper love it I would like too have you in my area you help do a 5.9 12v in my 1985 GMC Sub just because you have more common sense than A lot of mechanics that i know do not have. I hope you can keep up what you do best . take care go luck filthy rich.
I'm looking at an 01 Cummins with 290000k miles. It was a farm truck so I assume there's a ton of idle wear. The body is great tho. Any advice? There isn't any blow by and I'm young trying to get into the diesel world.
That's adorable I can't believe how touchy throttle has yes that's what gas Motors are like
What is that hood latch / speed fastener?
Nice!!
The ultimate grocery getter!!!
Wow... mini van
Nice car should have come with that engine lol 😀
yamaha ttr600 that engine came 30+ years out after the car but it’s a good thought
Love it
Is that an Australian rego sticker on the drivers corner light window?
Or does Canada use the same stickers we use to?
That is the Aussie sticker on the window.
Aussie built mini vans are pretty rare now.In fact the only Time i see any is at car shows. Aussie minis were better than the english built ones because they had proper wind up windows ,not the sliders.
Road test to Timmy’s, eh? I like the ride.
What can I say? great looking car.
Deboss ebay turbo honda build incoming
Oh yeah. I want to do this to a mini moke. Torque steer anyone? :)
Neat car and Im glad you brought something like this on, and didnt discriminate and say "Eww a honda engine". Unfortunately there is no chance that engine makes 250hp.
That's a b18, right? Those can be built to 250hp, don't know if the one in the car is that powerful.
@@AR-zq9hq Yes its a B18 but even with a set of cams, tuning, and high comp pistons it would only hit about 230 max. The guys that are really really into all motor hondas have a hard time hitting 250-300 and they do things like ITB's crazy port jobs, full head and block builds, hood exits etc. The guy said it himself hes just put a basemap on it and it hasnt seen a shop. It likely makes 180-200hp. I still think its cool, just not to lie or overestimate HP because it sounds better. My car makes 160HP on the B20B before boost and its plenty of fun and weighs a lot more, Im sure his is fast.
11.8 and pretty much "stock"? ... I'd love to be in the passenger seat for that!! ... :D
What year passat did the seats come out of?
Electic power steer from an ignis
Will it mow the lawn???
Have you seen this Moog?
ya thay did a top job on it there VW did some chopping in there vid today
I bet you can't say the Ford 4.9 l6 is a bad engine, mine just hit 1.2 million miles and two rebuilds
That's thing looks great, sounds awful though, my civic sounded like that.
it's a Mini van, not a minivan. wonderful.
Gorgeous Mini but please that fart can sound.. sounds like a boy ricer..put a proper exhaust on it, those VTEC's can sound really nice
That's a small car
For you
Tamer, you look a little bit uncomfortable in that passenger seat.
Brian Smart
Not used to having anyone else driving my mini.
Sweet car... Would have been nice to hear it at full noise... Oh well
omg so cute :)
About the most exciting vehicle i have right now is my bicycle that i did 55 miles per hour on....10years ago.
If you put a resonator on it'll sound way better
