What a cute summer cut for Cinnamon. I keep my Shih Tzu Rescue girl, Squirt, very short, too. Now that Squirt has started to let me brush and comb her, I'm hoping we can transition to and maintain a longer cut on her body and legs for winter time. Sadly, her ears and eyes were prone to infection when I first got her, so we have been keeping her entire face and ears very short inside and out. So far, that has prevented infection for her.

Cinnamon was an absolute STAR⭐️. This what a GREAT teaching video THANKS👍 Did my very first nervous groom on my tiny 15 year old Shih Tzu this week, a bit choppy...used a 10 blade with #1, 2, 4 & 5 Wahl combs.

What a great video! I’ve watched a lot of your videos.
What clippers would you recommend? I have Andis, but it doesn’t have these attachments 5F, 7F etc. it has snap on guards from 1 to 6 I believe. They don’t go very well through the fir. My dog is a Havanese rescue, probably mixed with something and mats a lot. At the same time she doesn’t like to be brushed. I had a few awful experiences at Petsmart in Canada, as for the other groomers - I have to book way in advance and it doesn’t always work with my busy schedule. I am determined to perfect my grooming skills and just do it myself when it is convenient for me. A little detail - I am a certified hairdresser, but people tend to listen to instructions 😂 what tool would you recommend for trimming the hair on the bottom of the paws? Thank you so much!
I'm using an Andis 5speed Excel..You can buy a 5f, 7f, and a 30 blade to be used with the snap on guard attachments..I believe the 10 blade is included with the clippers..I recomend using a 10, or the 30 on the pads.If using a 30 though, you just need to be more careful, and not dig to hard into the pad,as to not nick or cut any skin..Keep practicing, it sounds like you are doing great.it takes some time, but little by little you will achieve more and have success in the grooming..Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching us..

Can I use the 5f blade on a dog that has matted areas on all 4 of its legs.
You can try, but if the mats are to sever, it might not go through. In which you may have to use a 7f,or even a 10..
