The true MVPs are the gut bacteria mains that assist in converting loot into XP for many players
And boost defenses
Level 37 Bacteria colony main here, hard at work makin that sweet XP, appreciate the thanks.
They're just hundreds of warring factions on the same server. The second the balance of power shifts they can take the whole gut server with them. Chlostridium Difficile has a scorched earth strategy when it gets a full raiding party.
Good point.

The "dog and raptor" combo is actually a bug/loophole allowing for 2 battle summons.
Dog is classified as "companion," but most have a "battle summon" branch in their skill tree.
OHHHH YOUR RIGHT
Did you know that dogs were introduced to the game as a battle summon class but over updates they became more of a companion? Yet there are still dog players which serve as battle summons.
In addition, if both companions the the "trained" skill and the enviornement has many small prey species, you can gain an additional Cat companion, as it is technically classified as a trained environmental spawn, rather than companion.
This can be expanded to nearly any support class, given enough time, resources and optimal conditions.
The only downside is it's luck biased, relying upon if the additional "free" team member spawned as "neutral" or "friendly" to humans.
@Number True. Cats aren't nearly as domesticated as dogs, so they're not likely to listen.
Don't let "domestic" cats get the *chonk* debuff. -30 stealth, -60 stamina/motivation.

RIP manuelita, the turtle main :(
Nah it wasn't a debuff, it was a virus the rivals of the devs implemented into the game
that happen to gamers before me when i was in grade 6 more than 6 game years ago.
I had 4 turtle players on my party too, but 3 of the turtles were game over'd. I transferred my last turtle main to an XP and intelligence farm called the "Science lab, " but unfortunately, it perished from a drowning debuff.

You should definitely team with a dog main they boost charisma stat by a lot
@@erenaygun9696 how do they boost charisma? they're loud and annoying, and people with allergies to dogs will keep their distance from you.
@@aikslf If your dog main partner is loud that's most likely your fault as the "owner"

Everybody gangsta' until someone shows up with a beehive for a battle summon

The beekeeper tree of the farmer subclass honestly has a ton of intimidation as wells a poison damage potential yet it is simply used for EXP gain and loot. Quite interestingz

xEH012x ikr, stupid battle summon spammers, smh i cant even play the class i want now and instead have to go train a bug resistant build
You forgot to mention two surprisingly powerful companion options that were originally added as silly estereggs but could actually be useful:
- The Pet Rock: Zero upkeep cost, zero morale requirements, infinite lifespan and doubles as improvised but effective blunt/throw weapon.
- The Pet Plant: Zero morale investment required (as with the Pet Rock), variable upkeep cost but gives bonuses to morale and charisma that scale with it.
Both can unlock funny secret dialogue options with other characters if they are shown to them.
I love how dogs fit all catagorys, they can be teamed up with other dogs and a sled to be a pseudo mounts in cold weather servers, they are a great battle ally and great just basic support class.
dogs, man, humans best friend since the start of the meta.
I completely forgot about using dogs as mounts with a sled and cold environment actually a very good mount for more snowy weather
@@thegregitto Even for a pure companion build (ignoring the combat or livestock control builds where they also shine, and the pseudo-mounts like sled dog or seeing eye dog) the dog's charisma stat and resultant morale boost isn't the only buff they provide. Humans who assist with their dog's "exercise" daily quest receive progress in their own (often neglected) exercise questline, which allows the human to increase their own power and mobility stats. Also, the "job" daily quest of human players in the increasingly popular city and suburban servers often involves logging out of Outside entirely, which risks incurring the depression debuff. Besides the dog's natural morale boost, the exercise daily quest helps negate this, providing an additional morale boost independent of their dog party member's charisma stat. This is one of the few cases where a support's party upkeep requirement is more than just a requirement of party membership, it's actually beneficial to the human main.

-5 _I like the independence of cats and that they have more personality to them_
+20 _dogs are indisputably better because more people think that_
There we go I'm back :)
@@thegregitto The reason why dogs have such a high following is not due to their popularity, but due to their bonuses. As others have mentioned, they provide higher level moral buffs than cats along with a higher level charisma buff (of course personal player traits can affect this, but we are talking averages). They provide a lot of utility support in battle and numerous different questlines such as hunting, pest control, mobility, etc. , and again as mentioned earlier they assist the human player in maintaining their build and keeping their exercise bonus stats/preventing the depression debuff from being at the work questline and base locations for too long. Finally, the canine companion class is known to provide critical low hp or unique debuff supports such as successfully alerting human clan medic classes to an injury or assisting humans who picked the blindness negative perk to even being able to significantly increase the moral and charisma buff to human players that have received a major injury debuff or are approaching the end of their session and have received the elder age debuff. While ones personal player traits or choice of work questline type may make Felines preferable for the moral and charisma buff, it is a simple fact that on average and objectively speaking the canine is superior in its support abilities.
You've obviously never had a rock as your support. They are extremely energetic and are extremely fun to play with.

Actually, the party members with high intimidation usually have human party leaders that are immune to the intimidation debuff that their teammates give off, and other human mains leading another party with the same intimidating builds give eachother a charisma bonus

Partnering up with rat mains is really cool, they tend to be interesting and funny fellas. But they should have put more XP into the life expectancy trait, as having to deal with the crippling debuff you receive after the burial event chain so often made me go back to solo play.
That's why you get your small companion to have kids, then raise them as your own and train them, then they can have kids, and maybe over time the parent rat players will train their own children to be obedient to the human playerbase
going through that after having 6 rats 😔❤🩹
A downside is that you need to spend coins to get them checked at a vet, because they might carry the “pestilence” debuff which is contagious. The “vaccine” legendary item can temporarily remove debuffs, which nullifies most cons.
rat mains depending on whitch server your on can deliver charisma debuffs

You’re forgetting that horses, in lower tier tech human societies, can offer an absolutely massive damage buff. The Lancer skill tree allows a human build to convert a horse’s top speed directly into blunt+pierce damage with via Joust ability, which has been rumored to even pierce Steel Armor equipment
I think what he's forgetting most is history in general.
The ability of horses added to communication and travel, and in xp farming bovines even to this day, are immensely important to putting humans into the sheer level of dominance they have today. Perhaps dogs are a better choice for most human players now, but for some of the most important to keeping all other humans living horses are still vital and historically horses were valuable beyond imagining in developing human builds.
Also elephants are terrible choices, they're utterly unreliable, more dangerous to user than target half the time, and require way too many resources to keep leveled.

I've had a parrot for 7 years. Our bond is so strong that she'll attack anyone that tries to bother me. I would say they're pretty good battle summons.
Yes, I agree that certain support classes in the high matainence category can also have some good advantages. Classes with high intelligence can bond much more closely with their the human players, resulting in high boosts in morale for both players. Another advantage the high maintenance support classes give is definitely being good battle summons in both attack and defense. Raptor players chose extremely high intelligence and do require lots of maintenance but do provide good offensive utility, and other high maintenance classes like monitor lizards have been found by data miners to protect their owners, as they aqquire the psuedo-mate perk, thinking of their human player partner as a mate.
I have a monitor lizard in my party, and she definitely increases my morale and has protected me before. In conclusion of my experience if you can maintain some of the high maintenance and even some of possibly charisma lowering classes available to add to your party, it could be worth trying to recruit them.
I am partial to partying up with canines due to their capability to spec into hybrid companion and battle summon builds. I've been in a guild with another human and a pair of canines for the better part of 9 years now and wouldn't have it any other way.

My only complaint is that he didn't talk about geckos, they are extremely low maintenance for reptiles, and in my opinion one of the best abilities for reptiles in general as companions is their low maintenance, plus they don't give the charisma debuff a lot of other reptiles can give.
After playing some time in the Southeast-Asia servers, I encountered several human players who had a weakness for Gekko's intimidation skill even to the level of a panic debuff. Their sound alone was enough to effect the human players.

Fun fact: people who raise chickens have actually reported them offering a pretty insane morale boost, perhaps an oversight by the devs, which actually can cause some players a debuff where they're unable to eat the meat despite its taste and availability.

Ah yes, the rare tick debuff that comes with a bad roll. No more meat for you.
can confirm, i have this debuff. honestly worth it tbh, ive never had low morale when holding a chicken team member
it's fine though because they generate the powerful "egg" exp bonus on a 24 hour cooldown that allows the chicken raiser class to promote into chicken overlord before other humans can promote.
Unfortunately on the AUS servers i play on the admins have restricted unlicensed chicken team comps to only 5 chickens which hurts their potential for F2P players.

I may have missed it, but the movement bonus gained by the Camel’s ability to take much longer without drinking water in such a harsh environment makes it an even more viable in the current meta. If the climate change debuff gets even more pervasive, we may see a swift shift in the support class to making camels even higher on the tier list.
Misnomer, climate change is an ongoing in-game event in all servers, not a debuff.
@@TheHothead101 when the group of Outside tryhard made the gameplan to create the human, they never really expected to create their own ingame event. i know cats (housecats) have already been covered in an other video. However I would like to highlight that cats are one of the very few Battlesummon builds, that can be used defensively. Due to their predatory insiticts, independence in target selection, and territorial behaviour. A cat companion left in guard stance at base, will usually, stack up a ton of kills. Simply by defending the humanmains resources from, counterbuildts like rodents. They will even scare off martens. This is especially usefull since Martens tend to give debuffs on the humanplayers mobility ability "use-car". Ontop of that Cats also can function as Companions. The are so good at beein Companions, that some humans try to make them into companions only, by selective breeding. This is a hughe threat for the cats future potential and development, and usually strips them of their best abbilities, in exchange for an enhanced "cute" perk. If YOU are a human main, make sure to get a non breed regular housecat as companion to prevent the cat meta from beein destroyed.
human mains are changing their companion mains to fit what they want not what the companion players want nor need sadly
Indeed. I knew a cat main once, he was perhaps the best person to eliminate Rodent and Small Bird mains on the Northeast Arkansas server. Unfortunately, he walked into some woods, were I can only assume he experienced severe burnout.
donkeys too, theyre very territorial and can protect herds from predators, having an unfairly good matchup with canines
I love the martin resistance perk >< use car always crushes my resource buffs by making many of them unavailable with the exception of the skill food delivery still at an up cost. 10/10 review of the cat especially against humans with the flaw allergies
Humans tried doing the same with dog mains, selectively breeding them, which worked for a while as the human could better direct points into other categories such as mobility (greyhounds) or power (German shepherds), but once they tried breeding for cuteness exclusively it fell apart entirely, and a lot of the newer dog builds suffer from horrible debuffs such as spinal issues and even eyes popping out.
Luckily though, some human mains are trying to create new builds that reverse this issue. Builds like the retro pug for example.
The main reason dogs make such good companions is that the dog playerbase have been the main human support class for over 40,000 years
If we hadn't been evolving together for so long, their high intelligence may lead to issues, similar to the ones parrots often have when humans try to use them as a support class
I actually partied up with a cat main, this boosted my charisma in both bush and city biomes
A extra bonus according to raccoon eggs is there naturally bullet proof so if you get enough you gain the "racoon armour" effect providing 100 damage resistance per raccoon.

Another type is a pocket biome. It is basically a small item setup in a storage unit made of glass, copying a specific location, but in a much smaller scale. I am currently working on the Crow companion perk tree, because a little known strategy that works well in today’s current meta is to spec into social with Crow companion and eventually they will passively give you income and it becomes a truly broken build the longer you keep this up because once your first Crow companion social perk tree is maxed out he brings more crows for you. This effect over time compounds into a bug that could lead to some broken hybrid builds later on. Needs a nerf in the next update.

@@chipsdubbo4861 he also knew how to do human things and he liked human things like drinking beer and smoking cigars.
I remember another one from my own clan, Canada. I think their username was Winnipeg, or something. The humans actually have an option on the item "television" that allows them to watch a program in memoriam to Winnipeg titled "Winnie The Pooh". I don't know what a pooh is.

I know that you’re big but you need more subs I’ve been watching you just before my biology classes for years i levelled my smarts up many a time thanks to you XD
Great video but when talking about arthropod and reptile companions lowering charisma i think you neglected to consider outliers such ad Steve Irwin, who spent a lot of time around some of the most intimidating players in the game but had one of the highest personal charisma stats ever recorded in the history of Outside
He got a lot of that charisma from demonstrating his total immunity to intimidation
In many cases, when elephants take a certain amount of damage, they will activate their rampage mode and trample their own allies, so be careful.
Yeah it's a last resort when ur all down and being outnumbered
IKR, so annoying when you're just grinding exp as an ant
They also don’t much like being used as a mount, and some humans use horrible techniques (can’t believe they haven’t been banned) to give Elephant players major morale debuffs, such as destroying enrichment loot farms and forcefully decreasing their mobility stat. Human mains with the circus career path are particularly fond of these heinous techniques.
Can i ask what game is this

Guy's Remember the Dragon Mount before it was banned?
Yep
those were the days
It is unconfirmed if they were a real class or if human players thought bones from the banned dinosaur class were dragons. They are digitally obtainable due to inventors and data miners making large improvement into the technology subclass of engineering, which is a subclass of architecture. It is also rumored that with the invention of nano-machines or genetic engineering by high level human players that they could be made into a real class, although with the nano-machines invention it is debatable whether it would be a real class if human players made fictional animals with them if they could be considered real classes.
@@papasauce234 What?
I swear they were a Real class

I don't think that artificial classes are going to be any less legitimate than base classes.
No matter what their base stats are, the huge maxHP drain debuff requiring regular high-level engineering job assistance will largely compensate.
...Well, as long as you consider the whole intelligence meta legitimate in the first place.
I know that most people consider exploits not cheating since you're just using the game's engine and no third-party tool, but still... It's just a question of time until the devs nuke the whole thing down.

Thank You
You forgot comrade bear.
Bears:
- Have great all round stats
- Have a great sense of smell
- Can intimidate tough opponents (oh I'm sorry, were you going to have the last piece of turkey?)
- Are omnivorous
- Can carry and deliver your ammo (look up Wojtek the Polish Bear)
- Are a wonderful source of warmth in the winter
Downside:
- Can maul you if not trained properly or left hungry for too long
- Needs a lot of food
- Difficult to transport in vehicles
The bear IS the vehicle
Incog Elbowtross I read that as Beer and then read that Beer can maul you
You should also mention that they can actually be easy to train if acquired as a cub (not just Wojtek but also, Winnipeg, who accompanied a Canadian soldier-vetinarian during WWII and became the main attraction at the London Zoo for a decade.)
The training cost oh high level bears is quite high, and even though it reduces the lower the level is their low spawning rates make it a very hard to find at low lvl. Also maintaining their hp at a high lvl requires a lot of xp and loot.
Those players are certainly hall of famer players, but I don’t think it’s repeatable enough to form a full class

In the way of mounts, there is the llama. Its got great mobility in the mountainous servers where they are usually found, and its spit attack can be a nice little bonus in a pinch. The inaccessibility brings its viability down a lot, however.

Some builds of dogs can also be utilized as mount class in the arctic biome.
I think this topic is worth revisiting, especially since recent data mining showed that cats also give humans a charisma bonus, although it is a little smaller than the they get from dogs.
Todd Howard was just roasted so hard I mistook him for a marshmallow.
A friend of mine tried to use the monkey support class but the monkey's '''throw poop''' ability turned out to be a major charisma debuff.

@@Connorses yeah, and despite their high int, they're still far less helpful in team coordination than dogs in most cases, as the dog, while less intelligent overall, is generally able to determine when a task is better suited to the human main to handle, thanks to having superior cross species communication compared to some other popular supports
Every time I come across one of your videos, be it old or new. I always enjoy it. i love the way you use runescape music and effects in the video. It gives me a good nostalgic feeling.

The RuneScape style text and music will keep me forever coming back to these videos
In my casual playthrough, I picked up two guinea pig party members and I think the raw boost to my morale was big enough to outweigh the lack of attack or defense options. Just a casual playthrough tho, maybe next time I’ll try something more competitively viable.
I completely agree. I'd recommend if you have the level requirements and resources to invest in getting another two. You get the herd buff. It doubles the amount of XP you need to put into your party members but it triples your recovery from psychic attacks.
Awesome comment
I prefer a medium sized dog as companion, it's useful for morale, but also pretty handy in combat situations. Aditionally maintanance is not too high.
While Ive never partied with any players from the rodent clan(except two rat players who were lucky enough to get the albino skin) I've heard that Guinea pig players require a lot of time spent in game with their party members? Isn't that an issue for them?
@@mathewklepser107 From experience of playing in a party with three differently aged female guniea pigs that were in my party for most of my earlygame, I have to say that this is totally depending on character/class/skilltree build.
The oldest one had a warrior/berserker spec with points into carnivorous lifestyle (i guess she might even invested in vapirism or something occult like that, as she not only liked raw and bloody flesh more than cooked meat) and was therefore also a surprisingly agressive combat option versus other human players hands and fingers that were not cautious around her sharp teeth.
The middle one was more of a warrior/tank build which was not very helpful in fights vs. humans but helped with other small rodents, as she could easily hold off any encroaching rabbits and the likes.
The youngest one had a very interesting spec: Rogue/Cleric. With long dark hair and just one white strand in front of the face, which she always kinda shrugged/shook to the side, she was clearly a looker and had some of those charisma points gained by joining the clerics guild, but due to her smaller frame she could hide under anything and steal a lot of stuff (not only food, although that was mostly what it was) and take it to her hiding spots to gain XP in relative safety. Her Cleric skills came into play when she decided to interact with humans, as everyone was just boosted in morale by her good looks and cuteness. Also, she was a very good and patient companion when I had to rest in bed due to sickness bugs in the very early game.
Neither of them was depending on a lot of time spent with them though, they just demanded an outdoor lair in the summer where they could rack up XP by feasting on the grass in our back yard. They were fine with themselves if no human interaction was possible as long as ample food sources were provided on a day-to-day basis. I guess that doesn't work out though if they are in a group just consisting of the human player and one guinea pig.
I'm not sure if i can take this channel very seriously anymore, nowhere in this video did I see rocks. considering their high defense stat and unmatched speed, they're easily the best mount in the ocean server.
Not to mention you can ride those puppies for miles, increasing the distance you can travel.
Can't forget about sponge, it does give you a water breathing boost in that patch
Pioneers used to ride these babies for miles.
They're not just rocks, they're boulders.
Let's be real for a second. Rocks aren't technically a canon supporter, as it was added to the support role in jest in a trailer.
4:50 wow I was NOT expecting that KnowingBetter cameo!!! I love his videos and highly recommend them. :)

5:55 Never knew *Todd Howard* was a support class, I’m not surprised by its intel stat.
I think he carries the "distraction" debuff, randomly switching players into Recreation Mode by activating Skyrim.exe. Fun at first, but it gets old after a while when you're trying to grind for XP and it keeps happening.
@@Hysterically_Accurate Don't forget that Skyrim.exe drains bonus xp from players it affects. Against players with low resolve, the effect can even stack.

Leon Smith what video was that from?
I’m planning on team strategy with tortoise mains (2 or 4). I love how simple they are to have around and am interested in the completion of the grand turtle enclosure feat.
Another thing to note, humans have hierarchy systems that decide what kinds of companions are safe to have eg: partying up with a hawk main is very deterring to any nearby humans, lowering charisma, and also, the human build have placed laws to keep other human builds alive, meaning a human could be thrown out of their tribe by partying up with certain bird or reptilian builds, this entirely depends on what server the human is playing on though.

Personally, my favorite support is the crab, +2 defense, +3 crush attack, +1 intimidation, and can dual wield steak knifes
And human culture has given it a minor Charisma buff when interacting with human players that are aware of memes. So thats a small buff there.
"What you got?"
Crab:"DOUBLE KNIFE!"
Humans experience difficulty in recruiting this class and they lack the charisma boost.
@@bolt1437 If you don't respect someone for owning a crab, there's something wrong with you. Crabs are lit

@@megyumiyoshi1062 same tho
Oh my gosh I literally just commented that I also play the city biome with a tarantula support build. Maybe we should re-spec.
It's kind of understandable, since many human mains (including me) have the "arachnophobia" trait, which triggers the modifier "fight or flight" the moment they enter into contact with a spider, specially a tarantula. This modifier does buff stamina but reduces morale massively, making it impossible for these players to live with these types of support classes without incurring the "terrified" or "stressed" debuff.
Wow, the song at the end is a blast from the past.
I would like to correct you, i have a horse main in my party and it has extremely high hp however they have extremely low recovery stat so when a horse main gets too low hp they could suffer a game over as trying to move during the recovery could deal more damage over time

- Lowers morale

Cacti mains that are convinced they should be invincible: "nErf CAmeL!!"
You'd think with such a thick skin they wouldn't whine so much. But SOMEONE has to farm them for XP and camels needed the least evolution points to do so
Flora Kingdom is an underrated spinoff title anyway, and they're removing Bee builds from next patch which will kill half the Flora servers anyway. Damn shame, the beta was pretty good.
Bro if you wanna be a cacti go to the US Mexico servers they don't have camels
It is not Bee builds that are being removed... just a specific bee build is finding itself as not viable in the North American server. A build that is common to the European servers.
That being said, that European Bee build is doing just fine in North American servers when mixed with an African Bee build... that is "being Africanised" for how those get described. Human mains on the North American server just seem to get intimidation towards anything that is indicated as having an African origin... and it is causing the human mains to grief that build and even giving the nickname as "Killer" (which, I gather is North American human guild slang to indicate somebody is from Africa, and not an indication that they are dangerous... based upon how it gets so frivolously applied)
Bee builds native to the North American server are doing okayish... the issue is human mains do not benefit from those bees, unlike the European ones.
Bees are a good support class. There are some REALLY gentle bees, and they provide a good charisma boost (people thinks it's cool to have bees(unlike most insects) especially if you sell them honey and chapstick). Not to mention a crop yield boost. Very little care, but all the nice ones are prone to mites, compared to the aggressive ones who are really good at collecting resources and being mite resistant.
Good points. However, the only time that this would result as a negative charisma modifier is if the other PC has a weakness to bee venom, the kind that would immediately require a healer or potion if the two had an encounter. Though most players who have this weakness are aware of it and try to avoid the bee player base as a result.
So I need a camel, hawk, dog, ferret and bees (I would also ad sheep, because they can give food, milk, wool, basically the full package)
only beekeepers think bees are cool, most people i know will freak out if they find a bee in their homes
a random bee in an artificial biome (indoors) sucks, bees outside are fine, bees that are kept and in a human main's party are super-appreciated
@@promommygamer Unlike with wasps most people need to be stung very frequently by bees to become sensitised to their venom which is why most people with bee allergies are beekeepers.
