Allbirds is not living up to its billion-dollar valuation which led to their IPO, but that doesn't mean the company isn't capable of adjusting. In the last quarter they hit over 70 million in sales with a net of 20+ million, but that was a decline year over year. The culprit to many was the write down on apparel at 11.6 million, but there are other factors shaping the market for Allbirds. The most notable issue is an increase in marketing spend. An increase from 19% to 20.2% in marketing adspend means the company is fighting to acquire customers. In this video I take the time to discuss a few things that you may have overlooked about the problems with $BIRD.
The first is a look at third party marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. eBay in particular shows $600,000 dollars sold on the keyword Allbirds at an average price of 41.90 a pair. Amazon's brand registry with Le Mouton, a Korean company, is also problematic for Allbirds. I complete this video with a an analysis of website traffic for the 4 competitors (Baabuk, Le Mouton, Glerups and Giesswein) making shoes that look like Allbirds featuring wool and I look at Lululemon and Rothy's as competitors. - Zábava
Great analysis! I appreciate you 🙌🏾. I was extremely close to investing in the stock. I’m glad this gave me “cause, to pause” hmm
I'm not an analyst, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Allbirds is an interesting company with a lot of opportunities, but I wonder who has the agile ideas inside of the company. They've stuck with too many industry sneaker people who have only worked with bigger brands and don't really have the understanding of how to grow something that is still in the early stages, but is overvalued so there isn't any room for mistakes.
Wow shoe company is so competitive
they just release a new shoe ... ALLBIRDS WOVEN @ $115 a pair ...
a shoe that looks like $65 at best
I think that's their problem ... also I went to a local ALLBIRDS store and customer service was Mediocre
NADAM shoes are identical shoes for half the price ... they wool shoes as well
Also ALLBIRDS shoes are made in China
All valid points and definitely a part of the reason they are having problems. I haven't visited a store, but customer service at most stores is getting pretty bad.
