My favorite news blooper was lost to technology. It happened in Michigan on Channel 8, the Grand Rapids NBC affiliate. There was supposed to be some snow the night before, but it never materialized, which is rather normal for Michigan. The first thing that a newswoman said, the moment the morning news show started was "Hey Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?". She instantly knew what she said and put her head in her hands, laughing. I doubled over in laughter. Mind you this was at 5:30 or 6:00 am. The entire studio erupted in laughter, instantly. Channel 8 has always been a big station and a prosperous city, so they have boom operated cameras and have always been at the forefront of tech. The guy sitting on one of them basically fell out of it. The entire studio also erupted in laughter. Even the people in the booth that controls the cameras, videos and all, couldn't stop laughing. They actually had to cut to a commercial since no-one could keep a straight face, and I mean no-one. They came back after the commercial and she said something to the effect of "I can't believe I said that", shaking her head and still laughing. Then another newscaster said "Welcome to live television.
