It’s crazy how gravel can be such different colors from region to region. If that were here in Maine I’d say it looks like dirt with 3 inch minus cobble mixed in.

I remember my camp in Iraq had put down gravel about every 3 months because it would sink in the sand. I would imagine that there is about 2 feet of gravel in the sand in the middle of desert.

@@Dirtmonkey Base open up in like 04 and ran until 12. And that sand was fairly loose Walking in it you could sink 4 inches down when walking in areas that was not compacted. I do not think road was well compacted before they started laying gravel, and sand in Iraq is some of the oldest sand in the world it is like powder because it is super fine, more like dust than the sand you would find on many US beaches.
Water trucks to spray the road like 3-4 times a day to keep dust down. All the civilian trucks and military trucks going on it. Our camp had about 2k soldiers and 8k civilian workers, outside the prison population. Each week or every two weeks we would have convo of prison busses bringing people in and out be release. They were be taken to Bagdad for release, or to go to trial, or bought there to serve their time or wait for their trail. That is like 6-8 tour busses. Not mention the convoy of supply trucks to supply everything in our camp.
The UK camp that was not far off had to come to ours because we had hospital which could treat things, they could not due to them not having one. So, their field ambulances would often be escorted buy their tanks, since their base was an armor base. Now that was some convoy security.

What I would have given for a tractor loader with a box blade with down pressure! Box blade allows me to pull and push material as needed and down pressure lets me cut high points with the box. A bonus would have been scarifier teeth with hydraulic control. This allows me to break up the hard pan and combine the two materials. Bucket lets me finish the job as you have done with the Bobcat. A good box blade operator is getting harder to find now days as skid steers have taken over the market due to one machine to do multiple jobs and attachments, as tractors don't have the hydraulic volume.

Stan. I had a great memorial day weekend. I went with my girlfriend to a flea market and I had lots of fun. The only problem was that i got roped into loading my truck full of old furniture for her parents but whatever At least her parents liked me. Then I drove up north and spent 12+ hours on the tractor working on our driveway. It was a blast.
When maintaining mine and your driveway make sure you put a nice crown in it so the water runs off it. That way it doesn’t wash out. How was your memorial weekend?
